Guest pugvan Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Hi all can anybody tell me how much coolant a 1.4 HDI 16 valve C3 2005 takes,I have had a serch of the forum but cant find any info,My local car shop tells me his book says to use the red antifreeze ( 5 year } does that sound rite to you guys ? but the book didnt say how much coolant it holds so i dont know how much to buy,also where's the best drain point to get as much of the old stuff out as pos. thanks. Johndouglas Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I believe the capacity of your system is 5.6 ltrs and they usually reckon to use a 50/50 mix. These days it's doubtful that your radiator has a drain plug so you'll have to remove the bottom hose. Also there may be a drain on the back of the engine. Quote

paul.h Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 5.6 litres is the value in Haynes. Citroen use a type of anti freeze that does not normally need replacing so if you are not using the same stuff I would give it a good flush to remove traces of the old before using the new and then do replacements as required for the new type eg every 2 years.
