Guest Mackie Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Help please I have just fitted new fuel filter to my 2004 C3 1.4 HDI Desire and it is now not even starting any ideas what could be wrong? Quote
paul.h Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 If it was ok before you started the work then maybe you have not bled out the air fully from the filter before trying to start. The procedure may be in the car handbook and the Haynes manual. Quote
Johndouglas Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 it is now not even starting any ideas what could be wrong? I had the same difficulty when I did my C5 for the first time. Now when the job is finished, I switch on, wait a few seconds and then switch off. I do that routine several times before trying the starter motor. Don't guarantee that a C3 will be the same. Quote
Guest Bossphillip Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Hi just looking and seen that you have a problem starting the car after fitting a diesel filter.....you have to prime it first and to do that is quite easy......first take the plastic cover off the top of the engine, the opposite side to the battery is a small rubber primer bulb.....looks like a rugby ball.....pump this in and out until you see the diesel coming through , you will see bubbles then the diesel in the clear pipe, keep doing it till it runs smoothly...no bubbles... hopefully this will work. This is not in the Haynes manual....you just have to know these things and word of mouth.....good luck........ :) Quote
