My 2007 C5 1.6.HDI has only covered 25,000 miles. From time to time I hear what can only be described as a "screwing noise" from the centre left of the dashboard. It only lasts a couple of seconds and only appears now and again. It's like a large plastic bolt being screwed into a nut without the benefit of oil. Anybody got any ideas on this ?

I must say, reading the posts on this forum, I must be lucky as I actually like the C5 a lot! And get 50mpg plus.

Hello Coastline,

Thanks for that. I believe you are right, as when I adjust the heater settings after a little while the noise appears. Nothing serious, as everything works fine.I had my car serviced yesterday and a courtesy car of a different make. Getting back into the C5 was like moving from the dark ages to the future!

I am on my 3rd C5 and have only recently had problems. I have had similar sounds in the past and believe it to be a dry leaf that has got into the ventilation trunking, eventualy it dries enouth to disintigrate.
