Guest Tubby Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 My 2007 C5 1.6.HDI has only covered 25,000 miles. From time to time I hear what can only be described as a "screwing noise" from the centre left of the dashboard. It only lasts a couple of seconds and only appears now and again. It's like a large plastic bolt being screwed into a nut without the benefit of oil. Anybody got any ideas on this ? I must say, reading the posts on this forum, I must be lucky as I actually like the C5 a lot! And get 50mpg plus. Quote
coastline taxis Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Try going through the heater settings as there really the only thing that has plastic bits that move Quote
Guest Tubby Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Hello Coastline,Thanks for that. I believe you are right, as when I adjust the heater settings after a little while the noise appears. Nothing serious, as everything works fine.I had my car serviced yesterday and a courtesy car of a different make. Getting back into the C5 was like moving from the dark ages to the future! Quote

I am on my 3rd C5 and have only recently had problems. I have had similar sounds in the past and believe it to be a dry leaf that has got into the ventilation trunking, eventualy it dries enouth to disintigrate.Barry Quote
paul.h Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 If it is only a leaf or similar, you may be able to get it out by removing the cabin pollen filter if it has gone through the blower. Quote
