I say let stuey have his psychological tendancies! I think that i will only get admiring glances if the car is spotless, and hardly ever stop cleaning it because of it, but a C4 could be covered in sh*t and still get looks from everyone! ;)

Lovely work Holmes! :D :D I havent had any vibration problems, but i do drive that slow! (Hardly hit 80) I must be a rare bread.......and 17 year old petrol head that is paranoid about cops and speed cameras!! Too many cop documentry shows! ;)

I was sure that i was ment to be doing something when i logged on to the internet :o ..........................
-
I used "back to black" whenever they got "grey", and it looked good, even though they were not the same colour as the car. That would go against my taste aswell.

This happened to me this morning - woke up and the gf went to start the car..and found that we'd (!) left the passenger window wide open..and overnight we had a torrential downpour..nice pool of water in the rear footwell. I've just driven to work with the heaters on full and a towel in the back! Thankfully no electrics have been touched. No smell yet..but if one does surface...any ideas on how to shift it? We just had to live with it till we moved dorms! :o I dont know any DIY fixes, but if it does occur and you cant get rid of it, i am sure that a valet company could get rid of it........ at a cost.
-
tempting, but still i could not justify the expense! and would you die every time you went over a pot hole!?
-
Id start thinking about dragging him through the small claims court. I can think of alot of things that i could drag someone like that through, and they are not as pretty as small claims court! :o

:o I gotta get me some of those alloy wheels.... Anyone know what they are? Are they 18s? Those alloys do look great!!! not sure they would fit a standard C4 though
-
all funny, (might only be funny because it was not me! Would be very UNfunny if it happened to us though!) I feel a bit sorry for the guy.
-
It's disgraceful is'nt it! Really makes you angry
-
Very true, doing it does not make me a good driver, but learning a lesson from it will make me a better driver.
-
Very true! Not sure what you can do in this situation really.

After having a "hold you breathe in a sink full of water competion" at bording school, enevitably there is a fair amount of water that gets spilled, in this case on carpet. WOW it smells! I found the passenger side damp one day, not due to having the windows down (maybe aircon? only happened once), and was very worried about any smells that may pop up! Obviously there was not enough water to cause anything smelly! Maybe the carpets in cars are treated, i dont know. and yes i do know how sad a "hold you breathe in a sink full of water competion" sounds, but boys can find ANYTHING to do for fun when bored!

Just worried about warranty issues, i dont really understand what does and what doesnt "play" with the warranty! If anything electrical went wrong, could they say that a aftermarket bluetooth kit was to blame, even if there was no eveidence to prove it?

Right, i got myself into a situation that i couldnt get out of, i made a mistake, i fucked up. I was not over confident, i was obviosly going too fast for the corner at hand, and did not have the ability to get out of it, but i never thought that i had the ability, just (as stuey said) ran out of talent. It was 3am in the morning, pitch black and i made a mis-judgement. I mis-judged a corner and had an accident, thats the end of it. One mis-judgement does not me a bad driver.

Well, it is true that i left the road, but everyone who has been in the car with me says that i am a good driver, and i did not use the road as an excuse, i caused the accident, not the road, the fact that it was a dangerous road was just a catalyst. and neither do i, i did it ONCE, not regularly, and have not been close to it happening before! I got caught out, i did not know how to control a car going out of control, because i have never had to rely on it before! I was the one who got into the situation, and i did not have the skills to get out of it! Not sure how much more i have to say that it was down to me before you get it into your head! Note that i admit that i HAVE YET TO LEARN THE CAR CONTROL I WOULD LIKE TO! Then there! and here! I was naive, i didnt realise that country roads can be that dangerous, i was the one who got into the situation! It WAS my fault! I never denied that! Just because i had an accident doesnt mean i am a bad driver, if i was a bad driver, then i would not have passed my test, first time. I made a VERY bad judgement call, it was not due to me being a bad driver, JUST BAD JUDGEMENT! You are still going along with the first thing that came into your head, rather that listen to what i have to say. I still have things to learn, as everyone, but that does not make me a bad driver.

I just use my Tom Tom. I take it the citroen one intergrates with the stereo. Do you use the steering wheel controls to navigate your contacts, and is there a display that shows calls, contacts, etc.
-
You took the words out of my mouth ifigureditout! I go along with that 100% The reason I got ticked off was this: (Which Z3M Roadster said.) Perfect example of prejudice!
-
I realised that you needed to be wary of other drivers on the road aswell as yourself before i took my test, i posted the experience here, when the bus was overtaking a car going up a VERY twisty, VERY steep hill, then being cut up by a bus on a roundabout. Having two very scary experiences caused by other drivers i found that out very early! I nearly got rear ended by a bus aswell. being so close to buses is not nice! especially when the other driver has caused the incident! I also witnessed an accident, the other lane was stopped due to traffic, someone tried to pull out of a house to try and get on the lane i was on, he nearly hit the car infront of me, i saw that and knew he was going to try it again, so i was prepared, i slowed down and all went well, i knew he would do it again, so i looked in my mirror and watched him hit the person behind me! I learned that VERY early due the the above experiences, by Z3M Roadster's prejudice i cannot have learned that yet, because i have recently passed my test, i learnt it BEFORE i even took my test!
-
Fair enough, but this has nothing to do with the subject at hand, and i am sure that everyone understood what i was getting at! Then maybe your view of a good driver is too strict, when can someone be a good driver then? About the prejudice, i dont pre-judge BMW drivers like that, i like alot of the BMW range, i was just showing you what it feels like to be pre-judged.
-
That makes 100% sense! Could not agree more! Having had moment to think..... driving skills, reaction times ect come into it aswell! I dont think that you can be a "good" driver without respect! but you can be a "good" driver without lightning reactions, you just need the respect in relation to your own ability! as you said!

Of course, in that case, buying new has an advantage. but 3 litre jags dont come with free insurance! I am too young to get free insurace anyway. My mothers car was an ex-demo landrover dicovery, one year old at purchase, on a "S" My sisters Renault (Rubbish) megane cabrio is on a "03" My dads jag is on a "Y" Overall, we have a nice selection of cars, for a fraction of the cost they would of been new.
-
Intresting, my parents always go second hand (from a main dealer), just find if you buy a car, say, a year old, you get a broken in car that is the same as new, but cheaper. All to there own though! I dont think that the average motorist would, not just people who have recently passed (obviously, people on this forum love driving more than the AVERAGE motorist, therefore that probably cant be applied in the same way) Will be interesting to see. Keep a look out for the answer this time next year! I dont think that anyone should ever stop trying to be a better driver, no matter how old!
-
No, my parents believe that you should never buy a brand new car, and i guess that it has passed down onto me. That is, in this country. My mind can change though, when i start spending my own money! :D

So when does some one become a "good driver"? One year?, two years?, three years?, ect ect ect When is the benchmark??? Or maybe it is the amount of mileage after your test?? 1k? 2k? 5k? 10k? 20k? 50k? 100k ect ect ect What is your assumption of a "good driver"? How long is "recently"? Who would the better driver be in this situation:? 1. Someone who has "recently" passed their test, but do 100 miles a day. 2. Someone who has had a lisence for 20 years but has only driven once a week for that period? What driving does this driver need to do before they become a "good" driver? In town? Country? motorway? No one does a "actual" mixture of all. Which one prepares someone to be a "good" driver? When did you become a "good" driver? and what happened for you to think that you were a "good" driver? Why do you have such a prejudice against people who have "recently" passed there test? ..........people are different, there are people out there who are bad drivers and have had there licenses for ages, and visa versa. I think you need to learn not to pre-judge someone for something that they are not! May i lead you to this page............ how do you like prejudice now???
