I had the same thing happen yesterday. Put the car in reverse and it immediately started bleeping as if something was behind me. Put gear back into neutral and selected reverse again, and it was all working ok again. It's probably a bug in the software creeping in. I hope someone releases a tool so that we can do our own software fixes and mods, something like the Audi/VW owners have VAG-COM would be nice. :P
I used to commute from Kent to Hamphire everyday and easily clocked more than 50,000 miles per year in my company car, but luckily all my personal mileage was paid for by my employer. Z3M's job may be totally unrelated to the mileage he does. Service engineer or courier of some kind would be high on the list.
Just had my first 20,000 mile service last week which cost £244. Over half that amount was labour. (£148) :P Also had the XYT recall done. £75 an hour to change the oil is taking the micky.
Tyre wear does depend a lot on your own driving habits, and the type of roads you drive on. It will be different for everyone, as we don't all use the same roads and drive at the same speeds. Different roads also have different surfaces which can wear out tyres faster than others, so there is no one answer that fits all drivers.
I have 3mm left on both fronts at 20,000 miles on VTS 2.0HDi Previous cars have not lasted more than 15,000 miles. The C4 seems quite good for tyre wear. If I drove like an old granny, I could probably get 40,000 miles from the fronts.
Is it worth pursuing a rattling noise on my C4 from nearside front. I have had new front shocks fitted by my local dealer but the noise is still there. Is the dealer just going to fob me off and say they can't fix it? Should I go back to the Citroen dealer that sold me the car? Should I just live with the rattles as a C4 characteristic?
That quote reminds me of a sales training video featuring John Cleese. 'Who Sold You This Then' It's a great laugh if your employer is able to loan this out to you. ;) If anyone has a copy, I would like it too. <_<
It seems that time of year when you will need your headlamp washers, and all are failing. When they fail they also empty your washer bottle very quickly, so you find that you can't even keep the windscreen clean. :o If your dealer is like mine they keep nothing in stock so will have to order parts. Glad I got mine fixed and am happy. :D
I had to pay my dealer £50 to get my front wheels balanced, after they were supposed to have been checked twice before. I guess that Clutch, brakes, tyres, exhaust etc. are all classed as consumable items.
Nah! I don't think it's supposed to be variable. <_< The Citroen services are all at fixed mileages unlike VAG, where you can choose between fixed or variable.
I did eventually get my visual warning switched on !! Dealer was saying that because it was not enabled in the factory they could not do it, but I think they had been in contact with the factory to get it enabled for me along with the auto headlights and guide me home lighting which vanished from the menu and BSI had to be reprogrammed.
Colder weather increases fuel consumption, so it's not unusual to see a drop of up to 2mpg during the colder winter months. In the summer the engine is more efficient due to warmer temperatures. ;)
The best exhausts are the quiet ones B) Really annoys me to hear a 1 litre fiesta/corsa/saxo sounding like a spitfire from WWII, and u always know it's a boy racer without even looking. Rant over, as showing my age now I guess ;)
