There's a section on the website where you can give feedback on your fitter.

My diesel VTR+ "cinq portes" has been a delight. I've hit 700 miles on a tankful and apart from the end dropping off the dipstick, the mirror cover coming loose, a service, two new front tyres and a scratch on the arse-end from an idiot in the supermarket, there's not much else to report. I have 15,000 miles of comfortable and economical driving in the last 9/10 months. I'm off to France at the end of the month to mix it with the LHD boys! Lovely!

http://bigjohnd.250free.com/CitC4/tyresize.jpg Recommend pressures for 205/50 R17s on a VTR+ Hatch. Exactly. I've just bought four Firestone's for SWMBO Focus (you only put decent tyres on decent cars) from BlackCircles, and the mobile fitter was excellent. He did the lot on the drive in less than hour, and took the old tyres away. I checked the wheel bolt torque settings and pressures a week later and they were all spot on.

I bought two Michelin Exaltos from Black Circles, and used a local fitting service which was excellent. They checked their Michelin guide and made sure the (front) tyres were 2.4bar.

You'll have no problem sitting in the C4, or getting in and out. I'm 6' 2"/14st and find it really comfortable. I have a 5 door, which has smaller front doors but easier access to the back seats (if that's important to to you). Like Wozza, I don't know much about the auto box, but I wish I'd bought one now to go with the torquey VTR+ diesel. Pop over to www.c4owners.org where you'll find owners of the full range and can find out about specific models.

Are you talking about Economy Mode? Alternatively some of your defaults may need resetting, e.g. by holding the door lock button on the dash for 5 or 6 seconds. More info can be found here

I've used GardX Glass Guard which was good. I've no idea where to buy it as it was bundled with my car when I got it.

The same thing happened to me about 3,000 miles ago. I still haven't got around to replacing it. Big thread about it here.

I go along with Wozza. I have just replaced my Michelin Exaltos with the same and they are quiet. I have 205/50 R17s and run them at 2.4bar at the front and 2.7bar (not sure what that is in lb/in²) at the back, as recommended for sustained high speed, loaded up. We also have a F*c*s Zetec, with Goodyear 195/60 R15s, and they are far noisier. Road surface can also be a factor.

Only if you go down hill, with a following wind and the spinnaker up!

Know what you mean! AND 50+mpg.

No-one takes any notice of an alarm, and if it goes off while a tea-leaf is doing a bit of TWOCing, he just acts as if it is his car. It might alert you if it's happening on your front drive. The C4 immobiliser meets the necesasry Thatcham(?) standard and has deadlocks. It's highly rated in the industry. Citroen's Hat-Trick At The 2005 British Insurance Car Security Awards If you want serious advice as to which alarm is best to fit, ask your insurers. My peronal view, from the choices you give, would be Citroën's own.

Cruise Control Fault - Linked To Brake Lights
BigJohnD replied to edhellaby's topic in C4 - Technical
But if understnad the thread correclty, your initial fault was with the cruise control. You're also paying for the diagnostic expertise - and I accept that can be as long as piece of string. -
Cruise Control Fault - Linked To Brake Lights
BigJohnD replied to edhellaby's topic in C4 - Technical
Hard to say. One way of looking at it is half an hour's expertise and labour for diagnosing, supplying and fitting replacement parts and testing as OK, plus presumably a guarantee on the work for 3 or more months. About right? -
All the best!

There's a thread in C4Owners here about this. To cut a long story short, the owner with a similar problem now has a written assurance from Citroën UK that the problem is solved: Hope this helps…

You have to do some serious bad driving to knacker the clutch on a diesel in a mere 10,000 miles. Even if they are correct that parts failure is not the cause, it could be incorrect assembly. What evidence have they got that that it's the driver, other than it must be?

Too flash for me - a plod magnet.

It was probably a C4 Loeb http://www.citroen.co.uk/loeb/details.asp?page=page1 http://www.c4owners.co.uk/files/public/1184778110_69_FT8730_c4-vts-by-lobe_.jpg

You mean there are other channels on the radio? :P

It is a jungle out there when it comes to putting oil in the engine. I believe the difference is something to do with whether or not you have the particulate filter fitted. There's full info on Total's lubricants here: http://www.lubricants.total.com/ Whereabouts in North Yorks are you? Scarborough? Total's website says there's a Total service stations at: MUSHAM BANK SERVICE STATION SEAMER ROAD SCARBOROUGH North Yorkshire YO12 4LR and SCALBY MILLS SERVICE STATION BURNISTON ROAD SCARBOROUGH North Yorkshire YO12 6QX Hope this helps.

I've been to Yorkshire and back twice since Friday, and am well impressed with the fuel consumption. http://bigjohnd.250free.com/CitC4/56mpgthumb.jpg http://bigjohnd.250free.com/CitC4/trip506thumb.jpg I wonder if I'll eventually get 700 miles from the tankful? That's 200+ miles from a third of a tank.

Cool! How and where does connect? What's on the other end of the coloured wires?

I was in Halfrauds in Chester t'other day. They're doing Bosch Aerotwin clones for the C4 (1×70cm + 1× 60cm) in a Halfrauds Own Box for £39.99. Their catalogue was blank when it came to the rear. The oik knew nothing.
