totally agree with you there KFK but that would be related to AC if it were on but if not and the engine was cold that would be a different issue, I only say that because he doesn't say if the engine was hot or cold ;)
-
cooling fan could be an issue because it shouldn't come on like that and as im still on the older engines where technology is the C5 is a priority for me for knowing how it works because I might get one ;) most of the system is the same as the older cars so no big deal there its just the electronics im interested in, with the older cars the fan stays on as an emergency feature when something stopped working like the coolant temp sensor/fuse/relay, as for testing for air ressure loss you need the diagnostic equipment to monitor the system ( data logging is the way it does that ). this site has some good information and Particle filter (PF) has my attention http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...l%3Den%26sa%3DN

sounds like you have a problem with the front locks, how2 with double locking, press lock button once activates double locking and alarm, press lock button within 5 seconds after you have locked it deactivates the double locking, only diagnostics can probe the system for faults and reset it. could it be you have the child locks on the rear doors and disabled double locking?

that was an extract of whats on the cars and I was pointing out the options so your VTR should be able to upgrade but I doubt it will be cheap, anything can be added if you have the cash ;) navidrive is way more complicated than sat nav http://www.citroen.com/CWW/en-US/TECHNOLOG...FORT/NAVIDRIVE/

lots of reviews on the C6 and a very nice looking car indeed, the best review so far was this one Walter Pabst Says: September 20th, 2006 at 11:44 am I was just going to ask, does this car match up with the A8 in price? Woof. Why don’t they just put the DS back in production? At least in style, Citroen can’t meet their own benchmark.

do the bounce test on each corner and listen for the sound otherwise check if the dampers/shocks are leaking
-
depends on its age since you don't give any information, 1998/8 every 72k, 1999/2000 on every 80k the cover just clips on
-
ahh then that's easier because I have the same car and it doesn't have a front anti sink valve unless its the Hydractive 2 active then its more like the C5, the basic xantia hasn't changed much in years apart from the anti sink sphere on the rear and the one on the front is the Main accumulator sphere and the part that leaks on the bottom is a pressure bypass or relief valve and if you have a problem there the system flow return pipes are probably the issue
-
if you do tracing like I do with my ( ---- ) then what do you expect
-
actually im not being funny about this because a base ball bat is considered a weapon if not used for what its designed for but a walking stick is a tool to aid you and has the same power as a baseball bat so your staying within the law ;)
-
sounds like the security system needs resetting and get a bass ball bat for the offender lol
-
could be the turbo but never heard mine ever only felt it cut in which wasn't impressive which it wasn't supposed to be ( not a performance car by any means ) sounds more like a tranny/drive shaft issue but not being there its only a guess
-
could be an air leak into the diesel system any pressure deviation will cause that

Slight Traces Of Oil In My Expansion Tank

air bag now that's another story and normal down to battery disconnection, earth lead only because if you disconnect the live only it sets the air bag light on, proper way to turn it off, disconnect the battery negative and leave the positive on/ switch ignition on and vacate the car for obvious reasons ( open the drivers door window because it will lock you out on re connection of the earth wire ) re connect the earth wire and check if the SRS/airbag light has gone off if it stays on the code has to be read so the fault can be traced flashing airbag light normally means passenger air bag and the switch could be the problem if its turned off or its switch so switching on and off a few times might resolve it -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eam67EsWB4A power steering pump whine at the end ( it hasn't been bled right by the sound of it ) now to the point cough I want to swap my 2000 xantia 1.8 16v fsh and 100k on the clock mint condition emerald green for a C5 v6 3.0 I know big hopes but if you don't ask you don't get lol :D there was one on a 51 plate for 2k but he wanted money as well lol I was doing him a favour with better fuel consumption and lower tax so I asked him for his car and £200 I wont tell you what he said hahahaah anyways it was his lose J/K

timing belt 75k under normal conditions and 60k when used hard, a misfire when turning only would suggest a bad earth battery to chassis or chassis to engine the cables might be disintegrating which cause loss of earthing or it could be a worn spark plug wire touching the engine, other things to check are engine mounts/ all electrical connections/spark plugs and leads/ coil pack

Slight Traces Of Oil In My Expansion Tank

the feed back is important as it helps others with a similar problem, im glad it wasn't the other way round because it would have been very expensive. I had a for ford Scorpio with a similar problem and the mechanic that I put on the job over tightened the new water pump and split the wall on the block ( didn't use the correct bolts I gave him and they were too long ) it was a simple repair back then for me because I welded it -
just drain it and put the correct amount in then clean any oil from the exterior of the engine especially exhaust and under side and lets just hope you haven't done any engine damage, too much oil is as bad as not enough
-
if there is a handle inside it can be opened as for locking you would be wise to fit remote central locking to all doors and you can buy the kit and not that hard to fit
