I'll report back after it goes to the garage next Wednesday Dave

How do you remove the glass without breaking it ? I want to look at the mechanism that makes the mirror fold back Dave
-
Isn't it about time someone produced an aftermarket alternative for this fluid ?

I've had problems with loss of power - it feels like the accelerator pedal had suddenly lost all effect. This took 4 or 5 visits to the garage and some angry conversations with the leasing Co to get resolved Currently when it's parked for an hour or 2 the rear suspension sinks right down while the front stays up It's going into Lovekyns next Wednesday for that to to be looked into Everyone at work says I should have got a Honda Accord Estate - it may be reliable but also a wierd looking estate . I still like my C5 especially all the "toys" the Exclusive spec comes with Dave
-
Hi I had a look underneath , all the linkage seems free and there's plenty of LDS in the system I'll take it in for a new sensor Dave
-
John What C5 Excl Estate have you got ? I've got a 2006 Exclusive Est 2.0 Hdi 6 speed manual Nice car when it's going well

Do they mean an inlet or exhaust valve ? Have you thought of an oil change and flush and a tin of injector cleaner/liquid decoke ? Can't do any harm . I think they use Wynns Injector cleaner on Rover and Ford engines which suffer from sticking valves

I learnt today that Traffic Walton on the Hill have gone out of business . Shame as I was quite impressed with them I'm now back to dealing with Lovekyns in Ewell who have a Kia franchise as well now. They shut down last year and reopened under new management Is this the motor trade generally or Citroen giving their dealers an especially hard time ? Dave

Thanks I'm trying to avoid garages even though it's a lease car . I've been told there's a rod that sticks and just needs freeing .I'll have a look underneath at the weekend, otherwise I will take it in as it looks silly nose -up , tail down Dave

I've got a 2006 2.0 HDi Estate . When parked overnight the rear suspension sinks right down while the front stays up . I'm sure the rear is sinking lower recently. It pumps up OK when you unlock the car/open the door My question is - is this normal , if not , is it harmful and does it need looking at? Suspension fluid is topped up Thanks Dave

People say that just pushes the blockage back into the pipe ready to block it again .You really need to disconnect the pipe and blow through the nozzle

I've still got 3 mm left on my front tyres at 24K miles I did get 50K + miles on the fronts of my diesel 406 so maybe I'm a gentle driver

Hi Terry When the mirrors are folded in there's a small hole in the black part. Also I separated the casing as far as I could and squirted some in. Finally a bit between the mirror housing and the base It's worked so far and the mirrors sound a lot happier as they fold I would deactivate them but I can't get in the garage with the mirrors out Dave

Hi everyone Mine has also been OK recently but I haven't used it that much. I've lost confidence and worry it might cut out when pulling out into the outside lane of the M25 I've found some fellow sufferers on the Singapore Citroen Forum http://www.citroenchat.com/forum/index.php?topic=479.0 Very helpful to have a bit of support when , as in my case , I was asked what evidence there was of any fault - ie Was I making it up Dave

You should find a sticker with tyre pressure details , paint code etc on one of the front door pillars My 2006 estate runs on 2.5 bar , about 35 psi all round but that's with 16" alloys
-
Maybe there's less space on mine as the headlamps are Xenon and swivel with the steering Or maybe my hands are too big
-
I've struggled to change both sidelight bulbs on my 2006 C5 Estate . I'm interested how the panel between the headlamps is removed on the new style cars . There are 3 torx screws which I have removed but the panel seems fixed to the bumper Any suggestions ? Dave
-
Thanks for your help. My C5 has spent too much time in various garages so I'm trying to saty away if possible. My WD40 treatment seems to have worked (touch wood) . The mirrors sound a lot smoother when folding back Dave
-
My 2006 C5 Exclusive has door mirrors which fold back automatically .The nearside one occasionally fails to operate. So far all I have been able to do is squirt some WD40 in through a hole in the housing Any suggestions and how do I take it apart to have a better look - it seems as if the rear of the casing might unclip? Dave

Terry has phoned me following this email .Both of us are waiting to see if our cars are "cured" If not , watch out Citroen

Another source of info thinks it's the road speed sensor and /or wiring Would this have any other symptoms ? Does it detect road speed from the gearbox/speedo or the ABS system ? Dave
-
Thanks Yes it has cruise control but I never use it This happens as quickly as - I'm driving along , the car feels a bit jerky, it then slows down , I coast to a halt , turn off and back on again and drive off and it's OK till next time Can any part ie the TPS have an intermittent fault that doesn't register a fault code ? Dave

I have a 2006 2000 Hdi C5 estate and every few months it loses power . Symptoms are that the accelerator pedal seems to have no effect on the revs which drop to tickover. Switch off the ignition and on again , and it fires up and runs OK , Seems to happen after a period in slow traffic although today it happened at 40 mmph in 4th.,Car seems to be a bit jerky immediately before this happens It's been in the dealers twice and they've found messages like "engine torque reaction" which they had never seen before and last time they said the speed sensor was not communicating with the ECU. No warning lights/messages showing I'm inclined to think it needs a new throttle position sensor - any ideas? Thanks Dave

Can anyone tell me where to find the filler on the gearbox on a 2006 2.0 litre diesel with the 6 speed manual box What oil is OK for a top up ? Thanks

Can anyone tell me how /where to check the oil level on a 2006 2 litre C5 diesel with the 6 speed manual box ? Or is it sealed for life ? Would 75/90 gear oil be Ok for a top up ? Thanks
