" Parking Assistance System Faulty"
DaveHerns replied to DaveHerns's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Found an independent garage in Wimbledon who did a diagnostic test for £30 and found a defective sensor ,New sensor will be £64 - amazing - you can buy 2 or 3 sets of sensors on EBay for that price -
I'd pay £17 - that's a bargain if it includes the bulb

" Parking Assistance System Faulty"
DaveHerns replied to DaveHerns's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Parking Assistance System Faulty- is the message I get coming up on the display panel and in the log of faults This is a 2006 Mk2 Exclusive estate 6 speed manual 2.0 diesel 16 v 138 BHP. There's a button on the fascia to turn the parking bleepers off John Douglas was correct about the location of the module - 2 10mm nuts , 3 multiplugs and it's out Think I'll try to find someone who can interrogate the system -
You're referring to headlight bulbs , I think , JD and I were talking about sidelight bulbs .I think I would take the bumper off for anything other than sidelight bulbs .Procedure to remove bumper is on here , but I'm not very good with the search facility

" Parking Assistance System Faulty"

Hi John .Tne Haynes bible is a bit ambiguous if that's what it is there, but it could well be .I'll check the run of the wiring . The system worked breifly when I started up the car in the garage this AM . The OSF warning didn't display whe I thought it should have .Then the warning message came up Any ideas how to find the faulty component cheaply ? -
John Douglas and I have disagreed on this before .I've fitted several sidelight bulbs - both sides - to my 2006 C5 with Xenon headlamps . You grope around for a while and just when you're about to give up ,it slips in .It helps if you use a mirror to see the holder so you can hold the bulb holder in the correct alignment

Beware Rear Door, Child Lock Dissables All Openings
DaveHerns replied to Lightshaft's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Are you saying that if you use the child lock , there's then no way of opening the door again ? -
This is the message that came up today to tell me my parking bleepers are not working. I initially thought front sensors were still working , checked connections to back sensors but nothing works . Reversing lights work .Sometimes the outline of the car comes up ,on the display panel , other times nothing . Sometimes it still bleeps when I engage reverse , other times not . Sensors are clean and I don't think anyone has hit the bumpers Do I need to get someone to plug into diagnostic system to tell me which sensor has failed ? Haynes manual says control module is behind RHS loadbay trim but I can't see it .Is this OS or NS ?

I'm having the same problem with my C5 Message came up while driving today .I thought front sensors were still working , checked connections to back sensors but nothing works Do I need to get someone to plug into diagnostic system to tell me which sensor has failed ?

I think there was a recall on Peugeot 406's for the same reason. I had a 2002 2.o Hdi estate and that got a recall notice

The whole country grinds to a halt just for a bit of grit/salt PATHETIC !!
-
Are you willing to name the garage ?
-
Phoned leasing Co this AM , they say it's up to garage to chase , Garage say they can't ....... I get the impression they are p*ss*ng me about till I give up so I got out my soldering iron, a bit of wire and some Duck tape and did it myself for £zero . I can't say don't got to this Citroen dealer anymore as they now sell Kias ( there's a clue there ) They claim to be an authorised repairer and to be able to do warranty work , but I wouldn't risk it
-
Tha's why Citroen say " Different is everything " ! Mine was eating brake light bulbs a while ago and I was fitting 21/5 watt bulbs Also eating H6 sidelight bulbs and number plate bulbs ..... Been OK for a while , touch wood
-
Thanks The bluetooth kit was easy to fit with the feeds coming from the 2 cigar lighters - one ignition controlled , one permanently live .The radio apparently comes out with a torx driver (TX 10 ?) inserted through the hole either side of the radio front panel , If it's not a simple as connecting two orange wires together I'm not going to bother with the mute facility
-
Would it be an MOT failure ? If not then probably not as you could argue the car meets all legal requirements
-
Update - Been waiting for 4 weeks nearly for a decision as to whether leasing Co or Citroen will pay ... Garage tell me they can't phone Citroen to chase , Citroen say I shouldn't have been told to phone them, leasing Co say they will sort , but NO ONE DOES !!!! Pathetic ........
-
Has this car got a dual mass flywheel ? Is it a mechanical vibration or fuel starvation (eg) under load?
-
All my rear lights work yet I still get the high level light glowing dimly .Mine has 21/5 watt bulbs in the side / brake light , the fog light is separate. I've given up worrying as it doesn't seem to be doing any harm
-
Those instructions would seem to be for the Mk 1 C5 v, mine's a Mk2 with the Peugeot 407 type radio .Anyone know how this comes out ? I'll have a look on the Peugeot forum ......
-
Is it worth the money or does it say "this is a dealer only job" for virtually everything ?
-
I've seen something for sale in GSF which you pour into the air intake when the engine was running .I imagine this would shift any muck
-
I think I will use the cigar lighters as they will take the power required with no probs It has an orange wire for audio mute .How do I get the radio out of a Mk2 C5 - I've tried poking rods through the 2 holes in the front panel but no joy. If I get it out is this orange wire a straight conection to the radio wiring ? Thanks
-
I've just won a Motorola bluetooth kit on Ebay. I imagine I will fit it under the dash on the nearside Where is a good point to pick up a permanent live and an ignition controlled live ? One off each cigar lighter on the console seems a good idea ? Would you use Scotchlocks on this thin wire or solder on to the existing connectors ?

Hi Had to pay the leasing Co for the car this week so now it's mine but this fault is covered by the contract so I'll get it done to have all toys working Leasing Co want Citroen to pay as a late warranty claim ( it 3 years 3 months old ) so I could end up with a new screen !!!!! Ridiculous .If I could have got £150 off the price I'd have taken a chance and done the "wire and tape "repair and hoped for the best
