Configure Cd Changer Locally Dursley/gloucester/bristol Area
seefive replied to 5patr5's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
does anyone know if there's an mp3 compatible changer that would work in a 2006 c5, to replace the audio - only, no text clarion? there are mp3 changers around, (alpine) but not sure if they would work -
2006 c5 exclusive hatch - nearside rear window came off its runner a couple of months ago, and I got it fixed by a mobile mechanic whom I have known and been using for a few years now. The fix was to put in a new retaining pin - a small white plastic thing which somehow holds the glass in the clamp. It's now come off again, so I'm a bit confused what's caused this so soon. It was definitely working correctly after he fixed it, but the symptoms are exactly the same again - regulator goes up and down , and will raise the glass, but not lower it. any ideas? I have read the haynes manual, but don't understand how it's supposed to grip the glass. something about 2 parts, but the replacement pin i bought last time was a single part. like the photo in haynes. thanks

hmm Interesting to watch the Stig struggling with it..

if you press menu then navigate to "telematics" you will get a phone menu . In this menu there is "call functions" then "manage PIN" That ought to do it..
-
use the number keypad on the radio ( assuming you have the rd4/rt3 sat nav system ) you may need to press the green phone symbol first

In Car Audio And Phone
seefive replied to Drummer1's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
They're all over ebay - search on "MP3 changer" in vehicle parts. They plug into the changer port on the back of the radio, and provide a connection point in your glovebox. You can then plug in usb or sd card or ipod, and a bluetooth add-on if required. Check the changer has the features you want - they're not all the same. You may prefer to get the job done by an installer - any car radio retailer will be able to help -

Yes, bluetooth is an optional extra on the MP3 adaptors -

hello The TEL button is used when a car kit is added I believe There are add on items availabe for under £100 which give full control of iphones etc They work by emulating the cd changer functions - plugged into the changer outlet at the back of the radio Dension and Xcarlink seem to be the main players -
I think I'm on the wrong website. Keep getting stuck behind bloody caravans!!

Engine Supplier Needed For C5
seefive replied to A_Taylor's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
I had a Mk 3 (saloon) 2013 model from new and ditched it after a year. Went back to a 2006 Mk2 (facelift hatchback like yours ) - 2.0 hdi exclusive with nav and sunroof - £2,400 with low miles and good history. Haven't regretted it so far. Worth travelling for a good one... -
Hi Just changed all 4 tyres on my 2006 c5 exclusive and took care to replace the wheels on the same hubs, to avoid possible mis-communication from the pressure sensors. Not sure if I needed to do this though - a quick scout around the net suggests "older" TPM sytems work on the ABS sensors, and therefore always know which tyre is losing air, whereas newer ones need reprogramming if you move the wheel Anyone know where the cut across is from older to newer, and whether I can rotate the wheels without causing myself hassle/expense? Thanks

Help Needed With Smartnav & Missing Usb Port
seefive replied to relentless82's topic in Relay - Technical
Have you checked inside the centre cubby? You have to feel for the socket, as it's in the side of the box, not visible. (if indeed you have one) - handbook probably says it's in the glovebox Can't help you with the Xenons though .. -
A radio taken from another c5 will work without coding, but will beep constantly until recoded in line with the vin number of its host car

Worth remembering that the leather seats are electric - they come in the Exclusive models. You may not have the wiring for thme in the Design trim?

Anyone know if it's possible to attach a sat nav reader in a 2006 c5? (RD4/RT3 set up) System currently needs map disc in the main drive, which means music is relegated to the multi changer (audio only), and I can't play MP3 discs without disabling nav. I have taken a punt on a VDO reader from ebay, (cheap enough, so no real risk) but don't know how to instal, and how to tell the unit the map disc is on an external drive. Is this a main dealer job? Thanks for any advice

There's a separate handbook for the radio/audio/navigation etc. Maybe you are missing that?
-
the trip button - is this on the radio? if so, there should be clim(ate) and audio too- these are the different views you get on the centre screen press one of the others to change the view

Are you sure that was a ds5? The ds4 has fixed rear windows, not the ds5 Anyway, I traded up from a mk2 c5 to a mk3 then back to a mk2 again! The latest version is nowhere near as comfy (despite having h3+) and certainly not as practical or well specced Still with the oldies!

OK folks - I'm probably the first to have done this (or owned up to it) Having bought a new C5 exclusive saloon last year, I have now got shot of it in favour of a Mk2 ( like I had before!). I tracked down a nice 2006 (55) example - 2.0 hdi exclusive 6 speed auto with sat nav, sunroof and LDWS, low mileage and 2 owners. In deep red mica metallic/grey alcantara. Very happy with that, although no doubt it will need a few things done, with it being so old. Runs very smoothly though - quiter than the Mk 3 which had quite a growl to it. Slightly heavier on fuel, due to it being auto, Also a bit nasty on road tax (£265 v £110 - ouch) There were so many things I missed from the old Mk2.. Xenon lights, with washers and low fluid level warningGas bonnet strutsDipping door mirrorSwitchable dipping rear view mirrorIndividual arm restsUsable front cupholderAnother usable front cupholderDecent sized door bins, driver glovebox, and door cubby holesRear blindThe abilty to get in and out without losing your sunglasses/bashing your head. The Mk 3 is way too low, and the sports seats make it even more awkwardA load more money in my bank account - I have now banked a fair chunk of cash , after selling the Mk3 to a main dealer, and paying peanuts for the old Mk2There were of course some nice features in the mk 3 . For a start the sat nav didn't require a permanent disc, which means you have to choose between navigation or MP3 music disc. Also nice to have seat memory, but then I start running out of good points (apart from the looks of course, and the fuel consumption/tax) Hopefully I won't regret this, but for the time being at least, I'm a happy bunny with a load more money!

Citroen C5 Navidrive - Problem Reading Cd
seefive replied to mbc5's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
The fact that audio cd's sound fine in the changer but not in the head unit points to a problem with the head unit laser. MP3 lasers have to read smaller files, and are more delicate I believe -

Utterly Confused About C5 Suspension!
seefive replied to Citroelific's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Just to add abit more confusion... Early X7's (2008-2009 ish) had hydractive suspension on the 2.2 litre versions, and also all automatics, for some reason. I can confirm having seen a 2.2 VTR manual with Hydractive ( buttons on the centre console) -

Checked yesterday and the traffic system does work with the radio off ( as does the sat nav, which is needed for the emergency system) -
Mynav Screen- Can I Turn It Off? - Solved
seefive replied to Sixchannel's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Doubt it, as these are picked up by the radio, which needs to be on . Live traffic works through Traffic Master (TMC) and designated FM stations. But I'm not sure..
