  1. radio can be switched off - look for the standard on/off type switch, probably level with the cd slot. screen will revert to display date only (and maybe time)
  2. Just a word of warning - the suspension arrows on the Mk3 are confusing , The arrow that points to the front of the car is pointing physically downwards, but it means raise the suspension, The one that points upwards toward the back of the car is to lower I discovered this when I lowered the car into a concrete block that was too close to the front valance. Not too much damage, luckily
  3. Electric cars will be a reality in 5 years - they are very close to developing long range batteries now
  4. could be yours is myway , whereas mine is emyway, also mine does not have an sd card slot - updates are via usb, no need for external feed other than updates. Sounds like yours is not right - should definitely have country, town/city then road then number. - or maybe yours brings up the road option after city, and it's UK only? ( although on emyway UK is split into england, wales, etc)
  5. It does knock out the screen yes, but I guess it will light up when there's a turn coming up, if you are using nav guidance Also , nav instructions can be displayed in the middle of the speedo. (left hand turnwheel)
  6. It's a night driving switch - knocks out all the dash lights except the speedo (plus aircon)
  7. Had to laugh at Chris Evans glowing review of the Peugeot 108 in yesterday's Mail on Sunday. He thought it was fantastic. 4 stars Just a few weeks ago he called the new Toyota Aygo a pile of junk. One star It's the same car..
  8. On the latest C5's ( inc mine) the USB is dedicated to satnav updates and can't be used for music. Yet another irritating cost cut - saves them putting a card slot on the radio.
  9. correction - "select male voice" is under setup/voice synthesis, not in the nav menu
  10. When you enter a destination, you get 3 coices - enter address, enter coordinates or select from directory. Male voice is under guidance options/speech sytnthesis
  11. setting a route is easy, although you can't enter a full postcode - only the first 5 characters including the space, in the "town" field. enter destination - enter addresscountrytownroadhouse number if you have to use a post code ( to find a non residential address) you can convert it to GPS coordnates ( see pinned message "useful site for sat navvers" in "General Discussions and Nonsense") and the enter the coordinates There is a very good points of interest database which you can search by category and name - shops etc all listed. For Home, I guess you enter your adrress as a destination , "archive" into the directory, and label it "home"
  12. There's an option to delete all previous routes in the nav menu - it's all or nothing though, so save anything you need in the directory first (using the archive option when you open a route) I'll check in detail later when I'm in the car if you are having problems finding it. The Nav menu is fairly intuitive.
  13. Thanks for the replies The handbook confirmed I had done the right thing - driving at constant speed to clear the warning. I can't see any magnets on the filler cap, and I'm struggling to understand how that would work anyway. Strange... maybe the mk 3 has another way of dispensing the fluid.
  14. Thanks for that - where do I find the filler cap? This is for Eolys I guess..
  15. Got a beep and a warning on the screen today - "danger of particulate filter blockage - see handbook" Drove in low gear/high revs for a mile or so and it cleared. The car is only just over a year old, 17k on the clock. This is my first "evil diesel" (still prefer petrol thank you), and i'm a bit concerned I'm getting warnings so soon. My daily commute is 25 miles each way on mainly rural a roads with light traffic, no motorways Any advice? car is a 2013 c5 exc saloon manual 2.0/160ps Thanks
  16. This bloke's really funny - he's done a very revealing and entertaining review of the DS5, highlghting its crazy design "features" - creative technologie!! Search "Marek Drives Citroen" and select the ENG version (he also posts Polish language versions). Seriously worth viewing if you are considering buying one of these cars. Also a couple of other Citroens reviewed.
  17. I thought Ford used the identical Peugeot hdi engines in the Mondeo (hdi becomes tdsi), but they seem to have worked some magic on it. The numbers are better than Citroen- better claimed MPG ( although i don't believe those numbers anyway), but undeniable is their 163ps econetic emissions 119g = £30 road tax!! I guess this is the dreaded stop-start device Not bad for big barge like the Mondeo...
  18. OK Thanks for that, I'll see if the dealer can activayte it next service. Another annoying little ommission I've noticed is - no blindspot drivers door mirror. They try and flog you the monitoring system instead, which I would NEVER trust for something as important as checking your blind spot! Maybe I'll look for a replacement mirror glass..
  19. The light will be accompanied by a "bong" sound and "Fuel level too low" on the central display, which will repeat every time you start up, until you fill up
  20. Anyone know if I can get my door mirrors "indexed" to dip when reverse gear is selected? I had this feature on my old Mk2 exclusive, but its not on my 2013 Mk 3 (exclusive) . It was on earlier Mk3's though. Thanks for any advice
  21. When the Mk 3 was launched in 2008, hydractive suspension was standard on all VTR+ with the 2.2 engine and/or auto transmission , as well as Exclusives. Now It's on Exclusives only. You should be able to pick up a 2008-2009 vtr+ with H3+
  22. Hmm - the auto dip of the nearside mirror is NOT on my 2013 exclusive with "parallel park assist" ( a useless feature that supposedly measures available gaps). I had it on my Mk2 exclusive, and I do miss it. Another little cost cut from Citroen - also don't have a warning light for washer fluid level , and the automatic rear view mirror has no manual option . Both these features were on the Mk2 Overall Mk3 has a far better spec though, but these little ommissions are annoying..
  23. Spotted this on t'internet (DS3club) - posted in march 14. Don't know how to pursue it though. OB? Citroen Network?.... Just seen an OB posted on Citroen Network about map updates for the MyWay Systems which will also unlock the the 7 digital post code entry.
  24. The Mk 3 C5 has been rightly criticised for its crazy single front cup holder - under the armrest in the centre console where you cant't reach it properly with your left hand Fortunately, there is a gap between the window seals and the face of the door cards, so a door hung holder fits perfectly, without fouling the window. Very comfortable and secure. £2.99 in Halfords..
  25. rule of thumb for mpg Take the official numberMultiply by 0.7That's what you'll get Do not build a budget based on official mpg - you'll be "miles" out!
