  1. If a feature of your car ignition ON but engine OFF, press end of left hand stalk and wait for DONG from car.
  2. At 27 to 30 your revs would be approx 950, which is just above idle speed. I'd expect the car to judder in 5th long before that, Why they changed those items don't know but they obviously thought they were u/s
  3. If the seat height adjuster is fitted then it's the horizontal handle on the right hand side of the drivers seat towards the rear. Open the door and it will be apparent. On our 54Reg SX 1.4HDi 90BHP it's on both front seats on our 07Reg SX 1.6HDi 92BHP it's only on the driver's seat. Not allspecs are the same, different years different bits.
  4. Not all C3 were made equal and some have items missing from the spec. You'd need to talk to a dealer to find out what is included in your car
  5. see reply in the other thread.
  6. We have two C3s in our garage. One is the 90BHP 1.4HDi the other the 92BHP 1.6HDi Re 1.4HDi Experience has shown that driving in 5th gear below 40 mph on all but level roads causes the car to labour and deprives you of the expected performance. On a level road with one up it will pick up from 35MPH. The best RPM range is no lower than 1700 Re 1.6HDi Experience has shown thatd riving in 5th gear below 43 mph on all but level roads causes teh car to labour and really knocks the performance. On level road with one up it will pick up from 37MPH. the best RPM range is no lower than 1800. As far as 5th gear is really for motorways I say NO it's for any speed above 40MPH anywhere anytime. I read recently in an article that with diesels you should change up at 2300 rpm and down at 1800 rpm.
  7. Not heard this one, so is it that common. Judging by the response no.
  8. company called CPC are doing a set of wireless sensors. I assume the sensors are just stuck on the bumper
  9. This week I filled up with Shell which is supposed to be good absolultly no difference in the MPG to Tesco cooking diesel. I have however got different tyres on the front to the originals, will try the fronts off the other car and see if tyres make a difference to the consumption
  10. I have a C3 1.4HDi 16V 90BHP This does on average 61mpg on Brit fuel in the Summer and only 58 in the winter. being impressed with that I bought as a second car a C3 1.6HDi 16V 92BHP as it is supposed to give 65mpg. However it is only returning 53 mpg using local fuels. I made a comment about this to the dealer on the service date but they claimed they got 60+ (some hope), but bthey did say it wasn't run in yet only 2000 miles to date and its 6 months old. But I said the other one returned 64 while it was being run in. I'll see what the summer brings. Even at those figs the cars are impressive and the performance of the 1.6 is outstanding for a diesel car.
  11. Just to clarify this. The Early models have a button on the centre pod that is used for access to the menu and sub functions The Post face lift models have no button on the centre pod and usethe radio to access the functions.
  12. Yes they changed mine FOC. But why do you now want the cups. The new springs are not the same as the first ones. you have to look at this from all angles. Cars made between certain VIN numbers were assessed has having springs that might fail. This was addressed not by the wholesale replacement of the springs across all those cars affected but by putting retainers that prevent further damage. reason behind this cost and time. If you take all the C3s & Picassos (they suffer too) in the world and start changing springs you would have a lot of cars off raod while the parts are on back order. I would venture to say that you would even still be waiting for your car to be recalled when the spring broke unless it was an early VIN number However some cars have had failures outside of the VIN range, mine included. That problem was addressed without quibble by the dealer and Citroen. I'd expect the VIN range to have now been enlarged to cover this. Believe me Citroen are not the only cars affected by this, Fords are another sufferer. Take this up with your council that the state of the roads; potholes & speed bumps are the culprits.
  13. True the horn is connected to the battery via Fuse F13 engine bay box, but there is also a relay shown on the diagramhich is operated by the systems interface. The following fuses are in that path interior box MF5 80A but that would also show up other errors F4 20A steering whel switches, clock , radio F14 10A steering wheel switches clock airbag If it's not a fuse then the switch may be at fault.
  14. See other threads on this. My 54 reg (sept 2004) model didn't have the spring cups mod done either evn when I asked I was told it wa outside the VIN number range. They did replace both FOC. Hoever if you re out of warranty still go to them about it as you say it is a known problem you never know there maybe a good result.
  15. This is quite a common fault on all makes these days. The tow man who took mine away said it's pot holes and speed bumps that are to blame. Didn't you try for a goodwill from Citroen on this they know it's a faukt that's why the recall was done.
  16. The answer to your question is YES. The air conditioning and the heater are in essence to completly separate systems but some part are contained in the same box. the heater is the easiest to explain, When the engine is running it produces heat. This heat is taken away by the coolant water system . On it's way to the car radiator the now hot water passes thru the heat exchanger inside the car. The air passing into the car from outside flows thru the heat exchnager where it picks up heat. This emerges into the car to warm the occupant. However without some form of control it would just get hotter until it reaches about 110C. To ensure the heat is at the required setting, the heater controls manual or automatic, allow some of the incoming cold air to bypass the heat exchanger, where just befor it emerges into the car it is mixed with the hot air to give warm. By adjusting the heat control you don't turn the flow of water off but bypass more air around the heat exchanger. Air conditioner. this uses a refrigerant that is compressed by a compressor on the engine to produce via other parts a very cold gas. This passes thru a device called an evaporator (a heat exchanger in reverse) which is mounted inside the heater box. However it is mounted such that the incoming air from outside passes thru it before it reaches the heater heat exchanger or the bypass route. The air passing thru the evaporator cools rapidly and the water it contains, condenses onto the evaporator and runs off to the outside via a drain. the air leaving the evaporator is now COLD but DRY. It then passes thru the heater exchanger where it can be heated to the required temp. the air now entering the car is warm/hot but dry. This has the advantage of preventing condensation when it hits the windows and also gives a better driving envirinment for the occupants. What does it cost, well on a 1.6 HDI or 1.4 HDi 90 BHP C3s it's abot 1-2 mpg, which considering the benefits is cheap. On the C3 with auto climate you can set it at a reuired temp say 21.5C and it will happliy do it's thing for ever. I have never had to regas my old Picasso (6yrs) or the now two C3s, one is 3.5 the outher 8mths old.
  17. Own both a C3 1.4HDI SX 16V 90 BHP and a 1.6HDi SX 6 92 BHP. I wouldn't go back to petrol in a car these days. The performance and the mpg figs are excellent for a car of this size. and the bonus is £35 a year for the road tax on both. This is due to the CO emmissions being below 120. Don't think the petrol fits into that bracket. The London congestion charge also chages this year and I understand that cars in the £35 bracket will be exempt. As for resale the market shoudl be better for a diesel car in future due to cost etc. Some say you have to do many miles a year to justify the cost diffs but on our second one we've only done 1700 miles since new last August. Did drive a 70 BHP 1.4 but that is only 8V and a bit of a drag in compare to the 90 BHP models. To sum up take the OH for a run in both then you have a drive on anice bit of road and your be hooked.
  18. The C3 Mk2 Sx 1.6 has auto climate BUT the gloove box outlet has been deleted. The Auto headlights now have an OFF position on the light stalk so you can override them without having to go to the manual to deactivate. the wipers now have intermittent aswell as auto. As has been said to acivate to have to pull the lever down to the single wipe position and tghey will activate. However to deactivate them you have to go to another position and then to OFF. Some of this is a bit fiddley compared to the older models The windscreen ticket clip has been deleted The passenger seat height adjuster has been deleted. The radio now controls the settings on the pod display. There is an oddment tray under both front seats. The sound system is much better, there is now a sort of graphics equaliser where you cans elect voice, rock/pop, classic enhancemnet. The auto volume operates much better too. I ahve both a Mk1 54 reg 1.4 90 BHP HDI 16V SX and a MK2 O7 reg 1.6 92 BHP HDI 16V SX. the Mk2 is qieter at all speeds and far more sporty.
  19. Again see other thread on this. One sound like a drive shaft the other if it's engine oil sounds like a cranshaft especially IF the engine and gearbox have to come out.
  20. This sounds like he is talking about the crankshaft and maybe has oil coming out of the clucth but then maybe not. Agree it's not vey clear

    Spare Keys

Worry not if you don't have the key code card. A dealer will be able to look up the info on the in house computre, however they may charge for this where as having the card they don't.
  22. yes there is speed control resistor, yours will have break in it. The unit will be mounted in the blower unit to keep it cool. If car is under warranty they will change it for you.
  23. If the wiper stalk is moved downwards after the ignition is switched OFF they will go to the vertical position. This is intentional and is to allow easier removal of the blades when they require servicing. If the delay is more than 90 secs they do not move. If they are vertical for more than 90 secs then you need to swicth on the ignition to get them to go to OFF position.
  24. There are two C3s in our house. A 54 reg 1.4HDi SX 92BHP 16V and a 07 reg 1.6HDi SX 92BHP. The 1.4 shows 3 bars when running. the 1.6 doesn't show anything as in Citroens cost cutting world the temp gauge has been delleted from the later models. Both have climate control
  25. It shows that the imobiliser is active
