Hi, are we talking new or used car here. If new the warranty is with Citroen and will be honoured at any dealership. If secondhand but covered by Citroen warranty same is true. To find out which is yoyur nearest dealers call Citroen UK address and number in the car handbook and ask for the customer service.

Do you have washer on the back window too? If so then this looks like a similar prob to that of the Picassos. the sma epump motor is used, rotates one way for rear and the other for the front. the water is stoppped going to the wrong one by a flapper valve. However the front one tends to get gummed up with bottom of the reservoir clart. A quick blow backwards down the front washer outlets usually cures.

Why not get all the bits out of the lighter and go back to dealer and act stupid and see if it will be changed on the WARRANTY.

Welcome. Know a women in Spain with a Golf that has A/C. As she found it too cold to use she left it off for 5 years. When the car was sold the buyer tried the a/c which didn't work. Total cost of repair was going to be mor ethat the car was worth. Seize compressor and required new condenser and evaporator. Consequently car is worthless.

I'd say it wopuld be the same but the battery isunder the bonnet.

Ok I we ahve just bought our second C3 to be along side our 54 reg SX. We traded a 6 year old Pic 20HDI SX for it. the aircon on all our cars is left ON all the time and the Picasso in 51,000 miles never needed any attention to the a/c. The first C3 has 31000 miles on and the aircon went wrong and required a new 2nd stage relay fitting under warranty but no regas was required. Providing the sysetm is not damaged it should be OK for the life of the car. the maint book does say it should be checked every 2 year Dos Anos

On demist your intention is to DEMIST the screen. This is the removal of condensed water vapour. The aircon runs and provides a mass of dehumidified air which you can heat if required. As the air being blown onto the screen is dehumified, or DRY, it absorbs the water vapour that has condemnsed onto the screen and thus clears the screen faster. If the aircon didn't run then the air being blown onto the screen would be WET which would cause even more condensed water or MIST on the screen.

When my C3 stepper motor packed up it would click when going from RECIRC to FRESH. Eventually it got very lod and the dealer changed the stepper motor. Since then it has been quiet like it was before the problem. When on recirc the fan doesn't speed up on mine only if I select DEMIST when it runs at full speed and is defected onto the screen.

major item. this card is required if you need a new key, you should have had two blipper keys with the car. If it's lost it NOT a big deal as a dealership can get the codes off the main dealership computer for a small fee. 1) The most likely cause of the door is a stick door motor. Maybe fixable by a quick squirt of WD40 , but you need to take the door panel OFF for access. 2) No problem with either of my headlights and condensation. Usual casue is the incorrect fitting of the rear socket cover. You may be able to dry it out using a hirdryer and a silica gel pack. If not replace the headlight 3) Sounds like it needs adjusting at the catch end, have alook for a screw that grips the cable inner with the bonnet open 4) Think that that is just a plastic bit the pushes in, buy a spare and self fit The car if like mine is great and will serve you well, don't judge it by the inheritted faults from the previous owner, maybe you should have got him to fix them

Just a few observations made over the last two days in my C3 with climate control. yes climate control another word for auto a/c

Timing belt 100,000 miles or as adised by the dealer. You trusted them to service it don't you trust them for advice. If you read Hatynes manual they say 75000 miles. You've owned the car from new and you therefore know its history. If you are really determined to have it cahanged then it will cost around £350. Weren't you offered a fourth year's warranty. I was and took it at £266. My C3 1.4HDI 16V 92BHP has had the following items fail on it in just under three years Turbo outlet pipe seal. Ventelation stepper motor drives the recirc flap A/C second stage relay prevented the system getting cold Broken front spring, both replaced. I didn't take the extra warranty because I feel the car is a can of worms, far from it just for peace of mind and that I need it to get to work. The broken spring happened when the acr was staionary on my drive on a non work day, so I've never been carless. My Picasso in 3 years with never had a warranty job done on it.

Just a few observations made over the last two days in my C3 with climate control. Day 1 Outside air temp (OAT) 15C, interior set to 21.5C. Floor vent suppling hot above body temp) air, face vents supplying supplying warm/cool air. Interior fan speed half a blade. Day 2 OAT 22C. Interior set at 21.5C Floor vent suppling cold air, face vents supplying cool/cold air. Interiro fan speed one and a half blades. These conditions resulted in a comfortable interior on both days.

The pipesm going to and from the compressor will be hot. One is the return from the evaporator and it picks up heat. The other is the compressor outlet, when you compressor anything it gets HOT. The condensor on the front of the car is what cools it down. the pipe going to the interior will be cold, this runs down the driver side of the engine bay. My A/C failed two weeks ago and the dealer fixed under warranty, they said it was the 2nd stage relay, which I assume runs the engine coolant fan which also passes air thru the condensor which is co-located with the car rad, and must be cooled when ever the a/c is ON. The pipe to the interior wa sHOT on mine under this condition.

You say that when you rotate the FAN switch the green LED comes on in the A/C switch. My C3 has AUTO CLIMATE so I can only assume certain things here. If you PRESS the A/C button when the LED is ON does it go OUT. To have the A/C running you must have the fan ON so long as it's on 1 the A/C will (should run) So firstly you have to determine if it's actually running. To this open the bonnet and have someone sit in the car with the engine running and the A/C OFF. Listen to the engine sound, and have then turn ON the A/C you should hear a click and the engine note change, also the engine coolant cooling fan will run. So it is possible that your a/c is NOT on which would explain why it's not too cold, or it could be out of or low on refridgerant which needs topping up at an auto aircon set up. OK try all that and come back. A/C works by the compressing of a gas into a liquid which gets HOT, the condenser on the fron of the car co-located with the car radiator cools this, it passes thru a valve where it epxands and beocmes very cold. It passes thru the tubes in the evaporator in the car interior. the incoming air passes over the evaporator tubes where the cold condenses out the humidity in the air and cools it. If the air is too cold you can add heat to it by the use of the heater control.

Both springs replaced under warranty, no problems at all. Car is now on raod and again running as before. Thanks to my dealers Worthing Motors Broadwater Raod Worthing.

Woke up this moring to find that the OSF spring had broken. No sign of this last night when i drove home, Dealer changing both under warranty. Car taken to dealers by recovery service. This is not an uncommon fault and the C3 and Picassos are subject to recallabout this, but my C3 was outside the VIN range for it. Will report further when I get the car back.

personally I'd say the C3 is for the money a great car. mine is now 2 yrs 10 mths old. It's a 1.4HDi 16V 92BHP SX version and has never let me down. it's used regularly for the 21 mile each way commute to work and returns a constant 61.4 mpg between fills. I decided at last fill to check that figure, car said 61.4 hand calculated came out at 61.55 so I feel that it is true. the car has had two warranty jobs done on it, first the stepper motor for the heater diverter flap the other a second stage relay for the aircon. These did not render the car undriveable and I consider them minor. The dealer took the car and fixed it NO QUIBBLE. The important facts when owning a car. Running cost. Road Tax £35/year. Insurance £156. Fuel 61.4/gallon. Service a standard Citroen service charge every year approx £165. Performance leaves many another behind in the dust. Accelerate well, top speed over the legal limit have seen 109 on clock Comfort. Good seat nice driving position with a height adjust fore/aft drivers seat, rake and fore aft column. Extras Auto climate a/c, electric adjustable & heated wing mirrors, auto front elect windows, auto headlights, auto wipers, auto door locks. Tree rear full seat belts, three rear headrests. I don't think you will regret buying it. Lets face it any car can go wrong, non are really any better than others. Enjoy.

The original C3 had a smaller under bumper opening than the revamped model 2006. My 54 reg C3 SX HDi has a small under bumper ioening and a black slots above with chrome chevrons

When I bought my C3 HDI SX 16V 92BHP I was pleased to see an oil level read out ont he dash. however i have learnt to use it as a guide over the 2.8 years I've had the car. When all the o are lit the car dip stick shows FULL but after a few weeks the display shows one less 0 but the dip stick remains all most on the full. Even when I saw two unlit 0 I could only get 1/8 litre of oil in the sump before the stick showed full. So now it's just a guide when it's left for a week on return it will show full, but after a overnight stand it is usual one 0 short.

Visit your local library and look at the WHICH report on car tyres, for your wheel sizes etc. They are non biased to a manufacturer etc.
-
Suspect brake or clutch microswitches. these signal the ECU that you are changing the running regime of the car and the ECU schedules the fueling for the situation.
-
Yep it has electric power steering, when you apply an input to the wheel this is transmitted to a input device on the column. This feeds its output to the power steering brain. The brain turns on the electric side of the power steering system GO BACK to a dealer ASAP and get it looked at. I ahd a Vauxhall CORSA which also has power steering and that had a total mind of it own. You'd be driving along a straight road and suddenly the car would steering across the road a syopu corrected the error it would think ha ha I go back again too so it would oversteer. it went back three thimes, first time NO PROBLEM, took service manager out in it and it made him a gibbering wreak by the time we got back to the garage. They eventually changed the column and black box and the steering rack end result still bad, solution SOLD CAR. the C3 steering on mine is far superior to that on the Corsa and to date has never had a problem 54 reg.

You can have only one rear fog light provided it's on the OFFSIDE. So if you are producing cars for left and right hand drive markets you would have to prodiuce handed lens. Therefore for Citroen it would appear cheaper and easier to fit pairs of both reverse and fog lamps to all models. As for the other items Must haves Safety related Airbags (the more the better) ABS (always a looney in front who stamps at the last minute) Rear wiper (without it the view in wet is deminished) Auto locking (anti hijack) A/C ( reduces humidy and that removes stress for the driving environment) Nice to have Auto lights (Come on when it gets dark also when wipers ON) Auto wipers (as opposed to speed sense intermittent only wiupe when required) Not really required Cig lighter (Don't smoke and if HMG gets way so will nobody else) Electric windows (With A/C never open except for tolls) Dimmable dash lights (set and left alone) MPG computer (who cares if you are that worried abot MPG you shouldn't own and drive a car) FOG lamps front (never used them as the rulkes are quite clear about when and where. Others that do especially when NO FOG,should be shot) LASTLY Most definetely required a device that blanks out mobile phone signals when the engine is running.

My 54 reg 16V 1.4HDi doesn't have one of these and it never did. It's now 2.5 years old and there has been no problem not having one

The tyres on your car are decided upon by the manufacturer dring the design and build stage. You will see that the same spec tyre on your car will fitted to many others but the running pressures may be different. This is all to do with the cars kerb side weight. So the makers place a sticker on the door and in the handbook is a page of pressures. the really important thing is that these are only checked when the tyre is COLD as any rise in temp will increase the temp. Try it park your car with one sid ein the sun the other in the shade and see the difference in temp When the car is moving the tyres temp increases and hence the pressure. Full load is usual teh max number of passengers plus some luggage. If your tyres are deflated (under pressure ) then the rolling resistance increases and the car needs more power to overcome the friction and the MPG will go down. Flatter tyres does not help with drivability in fact the opposite occurs as the side walls will flex too much and prolonged running under inflated will wear the outsdie edges off the tyre. Over in flation will wear the centre of the tyre and make the handling skitish the side walls being too stiff.
