  1. It's all in the hand book and is done via the radio menu button

nother cost cutting from Citroen. They were available but now stopped. I fancied them in my two C3s but was put off by the price. I expect you could have fitted some kind of support in place of the side mounts.
  3. There are at least two ECONOMY modes on a C3. There may be a third if the original poster is correct. ECONOMY mode number 1 is where the cars brain (BSI) shuts down the electrics after a set time delay. This is usually noticed when the radio is left ON and after aprox 30 mins it will shut OFF and the dislpay will show ECOM MODE. Thi is to prevent the battery becoming flat. You can have the dealer extend the time. It also operates if the lights are left ON etc. ECONOMY mode number 2 is on the aircon system. If you auto aircon you can shut down the compressor by pressing A/C swicth. On some cars it shows ECO on some it doesn't ECONOMY mode number 3. Not too sure on this one but may suspect that the original poster dtbsz wants to see the fuel used i.e. MPG on his central display. This activated by pressing the 0 on the end of the wiper stalk. Depends on year of car what type of stalk you have some just have a round knob others also control the stereo. PRESS the 0 repeatedly to change the display. some cars have less info on the cente display than others and I believe that some do not show MPG. If thsi is not what you meant then please elaborate.
  4. Sounds like it needs a lub job, have you been through any deep water or snow?

    Fuel

Yes but don't forget that in town it will do less KM than it will at a constant 90KPH on motorway

On my 1.4 HDi SX the light comes on at 65miles to go to empty. Currently the car is doing 64 mpg so on that basis its when there is 4.5 litres in the tank On our 1.6 HDi Sx the light comes on at 55 miles to goto empty. Currently the car is doing 56 mpg so on that basis it's when there is 4.5 litres in the tank.
  7. Looking at the diagram in the Haynes book it's Fuse F14 10Amps in the engine bay fuse box is the pump motor feed. The same motor does front and rear and the direction of rotation is controlled by two relays which the BSi control. The fuse for that is F14 15A interior fuse box (I think it's not very clear) that also provides power to the stalk.
  8. Dealt with in a PM, however for ny others here's how to do this, Remove access toligt in wheel arch, remve connector, undo retaining bolt under the light and slide the light out forward from the bumper.
  9. Yes but he's not in the UK is he look at his name and location Norway
  10. The rear suspension on the C3 is coil springs, dampers and trailing arm. I have found on both of mine (54 and 07 models) that when cornering if a small ridge in the road is encountered that the car will skip, if turning right the rear skips right. I was put off by this at first and noted it mostly on the Tushmoor Gyratory roundabout in Crawley. I owned a Picasso before this an dthat has torsion bar son the rear which did not exhibit the same effect. I have on occassions watched the rear of other cars at the same point and note that Ford Focus's and others do the same thing.
  11. Have now tried this inour 07 SX auto aircon Press A/C switch lower right hand button. AUTO A/C go from screen Press FAN - fan will slow down and then symbol goes from the screen. Press Auto brings it all back ON.
  12. Lovely, where from?
  13. Open the access cover at the base of the wheel arch liner below the fog lamp. Disconnect the wire connector Turn the holder ANTI clockwise Remove the bulb and fit new one, do not touch the bulb
  14. Problem with all touch up pens/pint is that if metallic it will oxidise and will look worse. If it's bad try a dent doctor or other similr touch up companies. Our local dealer use them for this sort of work.
  15. Instead of taking the fan fuse out disconnect the battery and wait 5 minutes then connect it again. This will cause the ECU to reboot and taht may get rid of the problem.
  16. Tried this on my 54 reg SX with auto a/c yesterday. When the a/c is ON the fan shows the number of blades it requires, the minimum is a 1/2 blade a sthe fan MUST be on if the a/c is on otherwise the evaporator will freeze up. There is no OFF button as such but if you press the A/C button and then the AUTO button the screen goes blank and the fan stops. pressing the recirc button puts that symbol on. Press AUTO lights up the display again. Will have another 'play' and see what else I can find. NOTE there is only ONE fan in the heating blower system, the increase in noise in RECIRC is due to the flap opening insdie the car by your feet to draw the air in so you hear the fan at that time
  17. double post removed
  18. crazyman see your pm box. I hadn't seen KFKs reply before making mine but the first conclusion seems to be the engine cooling fan. Stim
  19. Beware some plug in chipping units are just a variable resistor worth 50p in a fancy box worth 50p. All they do is tell the ecu to overfuel the car by kidding it that it's colder than it is.
  20. confirmed also mentioned in the handbook.
  21. It could be the aircon does it smell all the time or only after it has first been turned ON. Look in the Picasso site and search for aircon smells might help.
  22. The problem is the lack of centre cut out in citroen alloy wheels, it affects the Picassos too. By now most tyre companies hsould have the reqd adaptor. Steel wheels are not affected. Having wheels balanced is only as good as the tech doing the job. I've been at a tyre place for 1.5 hours while they balanced the wheels and got them spot ON. With alloys they are supposed to stick the weights on the wheel not knock them only to the rims as this causes damage. In theory the wheel should be reblanced after a about 1/2 its life due to wear as it's the tyre not the wheel that is balanced. When a tyre is made it has a red mark on it which I was always told was to go near the valve but you rarely see that when they are fitted even NEW from maker. new tread is about 8mm, wear blocks are at 1.6 but manufacturers recommend change at 3mm. They also say the new tyre shpuld go on the rear not the front?? My last pair fronts were changed at 1.6 mm, went on the front nothing said by fitter.
  23. The reason the noise increases is that in recirc the flap opens into the interior of the car in the footwell not being fed from outside, so you can here the passage of the air into the fan. As I said it's the stepper motor that is the problem in these cases
  24. What's inside a turbo? Is it just a fan that forces air into the engine under pressure? Is it mechanically driven by the engine? Why does revving it wear it out? A turbo is a dual unit. on one end of the shaft is a turbine and on the other end is a compressor. The turbine is in the exhaust outlet from the engine and is contained in one chamber. The compressor is contained in another separate chamber and is in the air inlet path to the engine cylinders. The turbine drives the compressor. The compressor is an axial flow fan it starts off with the air in a large volume and compresses it into a smaller volumethis allows more air into the engine, However there is a problem with this method and that is HEAT. The exhaust gas is HOT and when you compress air it to gets HOT infact very hot. If it was put into the engine at that temp it would pre ignite the fuel so it has to go thru a intercooler which is simply a air blast heat exchanger. The turbo on a C3 is also further complicated by being variable volume this allows the internal compression to be changed to prevent turbo lag. This is achieved by a small vacumn device on the side of the unit. The need to all the turbo to idle before shutting off the engine is to ensure that he engine oil is circulated thru the bearibgs to COOL them down. The oil system on the C3 also has a oil cooler which is mounted below the oil filter. I run my two C3s HDI 1.4/1.6 16V 92 BHP on fully synthetic oil a sits cooling and lubricant qualities last laonger.
  25. I'd start by looking at the brake light switch on the pdeal. On the Picassos these do cause problems at cruise speed etc, as they cut off the fuel when the brakes ae applied. If the switch is loose it may be the culprit. Have a look at the Picasso site for my info.
