Keep reading how cheap caterhams etc are to insure. Id love one but odnt have a garage and i dont fancy leaving it out on the drive all year round the seats etc would just end up rotting plus i done know if i would fit in one im a big lad. best quote i ever got was 21 on a civic type r £10,380 a year.

Z3M will be cheaper to insure due to the fact limited mileage policy, rare car only typically enthusiasts drive. And you have a fairly good job id imagine so deemed as a responsible person. Plus fact your 24. 17 yr olds are viewed as likely to get into a crash, likely to speed, likely to drive dangerously, and often drive cars that have higher numbers of accidents. They did a little thing on the cliosport site. See how much it is with your normal details to get insured on a ferrari F430....many of them came back and said its cheaper than there Clio insurance.

Depends if the car starts turning up at your work / school etc etc. Just add yourself as the main driver and put your mum on as a named driver this will lower the premium anyway. If your doing 10,000 miles a year say 8000 they cant really check anyway. But with you only being 17 basically your just gonna have to bend over and take it. I know some of the other guys who are in there 20's with 1yr ncb are still getting charged £700+ on a 1.4 vtr. Im 22 1yr ncb and driving a 1.6 vtr+ my quotes are around the £800 mark postcode makes a big difference unfortunately if your in a not so good postcode they can whack large amounts on mine was almost doubled at my old address. And it might only be a VTR+ but the way the insurance companies see it. Your 17 with a £14,000 car. Its just your age if you had a 10yr old 1.0 litre fiesta it'd still cost you over £1000 to insure 3rd party. Just what happens at 17 im afraid mate why most 17yr olds drive smaller cars.

If its a big claim say you write off yours and osmeone elses car they will investigate it. ask neighbours people at work place. I know someone who lost a brand new Clio 182 because he was a named driver they investigated it refused to pay out when they found out he lied ot insurance company.

What details are you entering into it? Be nice to know so i can advise you what things to do to get it lower. And your actually better off phoning up companies and playing them off against each other as the net prices can be a fair bit higher than the prices they will give over the phone. Make sure to add parents girlfriend whatever on to the insurance especially if there professionals as it will lower your premium. Dont add yourself as a 2nd driver though if your the main driver as its basically breaking the law in doing so. Lower the number of miles per year you say you do. Tell them you have had use of other cars and driven some more powerful cars usually helps lower it again. Which engine is it you have in your car? gonna guess the 1.6 if your only 17 otherwise your gonna get stung consider doing the pass plus course its around £80 i think but most insurance companies consider it as giving you 1yr NCB when you say you have done it. Confused.com is hopeless really have to phone up. And might be worth getting a car mag like max power etc as they have loads of insurance companies in the back that cater solely for young drivers.

Your 18's and lowered suspension will be causing this to become more noticeable. bigger wheels do generally tramline more. And if it is your suspension you likely wont get it replaced under warranty now because your car has been lowered.

When i did it i went in to the corner too fast resulting in loads of understeer lifted off the gas and in a clio thats a bad thing to do it has a fair bit of lift off oversteer me being inexperianced put brakes on car span i ended up pointing the wrong way round the corner as i went into a grass section and came to a stop luckily no damage apart from a slight mark on the rear bumper which polished out. But after that decided i need to find out what i should and should not do in various situations and learn how to correct things like that etc.
-
Just dont touch the brakes when the back end goes ever did it onceluckily there was a bit of grass at the side of the road i ended up on the grass pointing the wrong way but i learnt my lesson which was dont take corners too fast and dont hit brakes when the back end goes you just loose control altogether. But if the wheels were in the air its just a cae of pointing them the way you wanna go and hoping you get some traction again at some point that will help you get the car back. But when you do have control over the car back end goes what i usually do is snap the wheel the same way the back end slips out then bring it back dont touch any of the pedals until its stabilized a bit then get back on the gas. But no point getting upset over the car its just a chunk of metal at the end of the day life is worth far more. And a car can always be replaced.
-
Sucks, Sorry to hear that mate. Anyway its only a car as long as your alright doesnt matter it can be replaced an insurance will go down again in future. These things happen. When i was in my friends car back end went out first thing he did was touch the brakes resulting in us crashing. had he not touched the brakes we would have been fine. Rather hard though to go against your instinct which usually is to brake though. Just one of those thigns you learn. But either way it can all be replaced and depending on the damage you would be surprsied what they put back on the roads although theres the possibility it just wont ever drive the same as it used to.

C4 Audio Upgrade Progress..
wozza replied to ruZZ.il's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
If your replacing the speakers its 17cm components up front. and I think there 17cm in the rear as well not entirely sure yet to take mine out as I just dont have the rear speakers connected ruins stereo imaging. The front door pods are quite good though actual plstic pods to install speakers into with a bit of expanding foam etc you can easily turn them into a sealed enclosure which should help mid bass response a bit. What i plan on doing next time when I sound deaden everything. Amp installation is pretty straight forward rather simple car to run things up did a little guide thats in this section if you have not looked at it already. Standard system doesnt sound half bad and with a high level to low level adaptor wont be much of an issue with you running amps. Into electronics just have not built any of my own stuff really since high school thats the last time I actually made a PCB for my uses anyways othertimes its just breadboards I have used for simple test circuits in uni. But pioneers are good headunits. There speakers and that though im not a fan of but there headunits I like. But I prefer Alpines would always recommend Pioneer and Alpine units to people though. I know Alpine have a C4 adaptor in development cause I have been emailing there dev team but they dont know when its due out. -
Thats why i now always tell them to get in the car with me when i have an issue so i can demonstrate it. They find it harder to say no we didnt see or hear it and gives the service guys a better idea of what to tell the tech guys to check out.

SQ of MP3 over original audio cd is not that uch of a difference if you use higher bit rates 192kb/s is a good one anymore is pointless though. But will never sound as good as the original CD. Could never really tell so much on the stock speakers though it is more noticeable on my system now though.

Use the Citroen manchester as i used to live 10 minute walk away. But they are usually good i have to say but occasionally they dont do things i ask or i get an answer im not too pleased about but ah well. There usually pretty good though.
-
It does have aux inputs the standard unit which will allow you to plug an ipod adaptor in you just need the 9706AG cable from peugout then just a case of connecting it to the right pins at the back of the headunit. Only other way to play MP3 compilation cd's is as i said after market unit but i dont think theres any one with a steering wheel control out for it yet apart from balupunkt and im not the biggest fan of there headunits although the high end ones do sound nice and have loads of adjustment. I just prefer of the main brands pioneer, alpine.

Its because the bluetooth kit integrates into the stereo. Dont think the JBL system has the spare inputs to allow it to be plugged in.

The display runs fine without the standard stereo connected you just loose the stereo info thats it. But you dont really need it after all its all put up on your new stereo unit instead. Steering control support have fun with as far as i know no one has got an adaptor out yet. Been asking Alpine to get me one for a while also asked incartec and a few other places no one has any adaptors yet. Due out in next few months. http://mybigspoon.com/wozza/dash.JPG Theres mine though as you can see the screen is still functional and all i did was chuck the headunit in with an ISO adaptor nothing else. If you have reverse sensor etc these will stop working though as you wont get the audio warning through the pioneer system. -
See I love the retro look of the new one even the interior is similarly retro. And theres enough interior upgrade packs from ford to suit everyones taste. Handling as stock isnt up to much after the handling pack is added there not that bad they become quite capable but they do need money spending on suspension thats a given. But just somethign about massive amounts of low end torque and a V8 sound I love. You just have to love the sound of an american V8 over an I6 or V6.
-
They will all play CD-R without a problem as far as im aware...some also play MP3 although arent supposed to officially. The JBL upgrade is the only one that is supposed to play MP3.

Dont like the chrome either but there not standard. And when it'll peg 60 in 5 seconds and 100 in 13 i would say its got enough go it's roughly same speed as an M3 or your Z3 not exactly a slow car. And upgrades give massive gains for not much money 460rwhp comes in for £2500 ish with bolt on supercharger. Or Can get to around 370bhp for a few hundred quid add that on top of the supercharger your looking nearly the 500bhp mark. In a car that weights 1500kg thats quite a bit of power.

V6 Clio is alright not the best track toy though bit unforgiving. Earlier S2000's are as well. Both of which are have a spinning habit. Elise, exige or VX is what id take the my mates owned 2 elise's and and exige brilliant cars. Old mustangs i love then we had the 80's and 90's versions which arent so cool but i love the brand new model. How can you find these boring? http://www.autowallpaper.de/Wallpaper/Ford..._GT_Coupe_2.jpg

What you looking for replacement wise? Its a shame the current BMW's just look fugly bring back the cool cars or cool things they used to do such as the Z1's doors. E30 M3 was such a great looking motor now they just seem to be a couple vents in the wings and and an M badge on the back thats it. Really looking at mustangs seriously now or a C5 Corvette. Just i think i would rather the Mustang does not handle or go as well but its just cooler in a way and it'll still hit 60 in 5 seconds stock £2000 later its 3 second area to 60 not much gonna beat it in a straight line then.

Print out the problems on a bit of paper and give it to them next time. Got to say my dealers were pains in the arses at first but last time i complained on here they took there time with anything i got a call from them the day later saying to bring the car in and they sorted a bunch of other problems i told them about when i got there. Can say i got the car back with everything done and was cleaned inside and out so was rather impressed that time with the service. Name and shame the dealers better for people to know who to avoid as some of the dealers really are terrible i've heard of peoples cars going into some dealers and coming back with scratches and dents massively kerbed alloys etc.

Think I would rather have the westfield personally and have it out on track as much as possible.
