  1. the problem is the sarcasm doesnt translate when written. I think everyone else got the joke but evil missed it... KFK can only work with what hes got. I cant imagine customers would be very happy if the techs started messing with their cars to try to figure out how things work...let Citroen figure out how to fix things and mention it when you go to the garage next...after all the car is still new to them and all the training in the world wont help if a new problem occurs... Its not his fault that the brochures are misleading...
  2. I use Bristol Street in Nottingham. They are very helpful but the service blokes are always rushed off their feet so cant really give you a lot of time..
  3. if I did get a road legal one it wouldnt get used, I dont want to pay for insurance and road tax for a car that is sat in the garage for 7-8 months a year when the weather is crap... I am going for a racing scholarship for the Clio Cup for next year so I think I will have my fill of tracks if I manage to blag that...if that fails then performance driving inscructor is next on the list. I have been asked to attend a weekend with the company I did my course with a couple of weeks ago and see if I like it and if I am up to teaching people how to track drive....fingers crossed on that front too!!
  4. I am looking at buying a 7 for trsck use...there are a few track ready cars for sale on the Caterham website for a couple of grand. Not road legal though so I will have to buy a trailer to go with it...
  5. it is very depandent on the individual. Well applied, subtle tints look really good and if you go to a reputable fitter such as Pentagon Glass Tech that will actually lower your insurance as the tints they fit are thatcham approved. Self fit tints are very bad news, i have seen lots of chaved up motors with those with more bubbles than an Aero!! :o
  6. when they are in up off the screen I wouldnt reccomend hittng the stalk, it leaves a really nasty mark on the top edge of the bonnet not that I have done it twice :o
  7. it is more than likely the tappets...Welsh is having his adjusted at the moment...

    Mpg

a friend of mine has a Focus ST and that averages about 19mpg...a combination of a big turbo and a heavy foot...
  10. I knew they crept but held at 5mph!!
  11. driverless racing eh?? STOP IT, STOP IT NOW!!
  12. mine has done that a couple of times, it is quite scary!! the first time was when I picked her up from the garage brand new...tight bstards!!
  13. it is indeed getting scary what cars can do by themselves...mercs will stop themselves, Hondas will stay in the middle of the desired lane....we might as well just get in the back and have a bit of kip as someone mention further up this thread... I was driving an Aston Martin DB9 on Sunday and the inscructor who was with me said to put it into drive and take my feet of the pedals and see what happens so I did and it accelrates up to 5mph and stays there...i asked why and he said that is how it copes with hill starts with the flappy paddle gears!! clever stuff!! It also reaches for another gear at 145mph about the speed when I bottled it and stood on the brakes ;)
  14. they beep for more fuel when you get down to 2 bars on the readout (about a gallon) it normally comes on with about 50 miles left on the display. so I can normally go about another 70 miles...

    Hello

    welcome aboard that man!!
  16. that is scary look into a tech's mind...now you see what they do when they have nothing to do ;)
  17. C4ownersclub.co.uk for me... I dont mind giving you a hand with stuff....I can do photoshop/general piccies to make it look shiny. I reckon keep it forum based like this just with our name for ease.
  18. I must admit the sport doesnt really need to be there. C4ownersclub.co.uk would be perfect. Ronseal (does exactly what it says on the tin) <_<
  19. what about C4ownersclub.co.uk??

    Good Price?

didnt know that. I thought they had what they had and that was it... right i'm off to drive Aston Martins around Bruntingthorpe proving ground 2 mile straight baby!! 180mph here I come. I will post pics and a report on Monday.
  21. you need to have a white one with blue stripes!! Roush stage 3 would do me nicely!!

    Good Price?

I did consider buying off the net as the deals where really rather good but you are stuck with spec instead of being able to tick option boxes, spoiler etc. Also main dealers will buy back cars bought from them at near as damn it market value if you ask nicely....service tends to be better too according to a friend who has cars off the net and from dealers, they tend to be a bit prissy when they are dealing with jobs on cars they didnt actually make any money on...
  23. do it mate you know you want to!! I will come with you to buy it.

    Good Price?

pork pie is right on all counts!! I have the 1.4 VTR and it has everything i could want spec wise. As for the MPG problems...mine gets about 470-500 miles from 60 litres of petrol, someone else do the maths but that is only 100 less than the 1.6 diesel 307 I had for a month or so. On the motorway it will happily cruise at 75 doing 33MPG I personally think that is friggin awesome
  25. mine developed a strange bang in the door, sounds like whatever it is is stuck on to the door in some way but held on by wires. I thought it might be the electric window motor as it stops when the windows are down. I told Citroen about it when it in was in having the XYJ recall. The service chap said that they had the door panels off and stuck whatever it was back on. two minutes down the road the bang started again.....but it only does it when it is hot...random
