  1. Hello, My handbrake handle has a lot of play as a result of the slackness in the handbrake cable. I saw below the car, the cable coming from the handbrake handle is attached to two cables coming from each of the back wheels, but only one of them has an adjustable nut. Is there any other place where I can tighten the cable to remove the slackness in the handbrake cable? Regards, Simple.
  2. It is the back end of the door handle that activates the opening! try that. However, you may have a problem similar to one I had and caused MOT failure. In my case the children were pressing on the knob causing the latch on the mechanism to break and the link to flick out of place and stay in the locked position. Open the door cover and you will see it, it is quite simple. I reconnected the link and replaced the latch with a rubber band, it worked.
  3. Can you elaborate on the location and shape of the vacuum sensor, I am getting occasional gear fault (Limp mode). I changed the Transmission Oil, but I still got one gear fault error in a month. Funnily, this fault seems to occur in the same road location (a bend as I am entering the motorway) and on damp days!!. I Stop the car on the side of the road, switch off , switch on and all is fine until the next fault. I suspect a sensor that is affected by centrifugal movement and/or weather conditions. French cars makers should include service by an Exorcist or African Black Magic Doctor within their dealerships.
  4. I had the same issue and having replaced the fuses with no joy, here is what I have done: 1- Raised the car, removed the driver side wheel and wheel arch under cover. 2- Unscrewed the water tank (actually I was able to remove one clip, so I left it dangling but I had access to the pumps) point 1 and 2 are not necessary if you know where every thing is. 3- Disconnected the water hoses and tested for operation (you need assistant for this part) 4- Unplugged the faulty water pump 5- Disassembled (click open, no screwing, be careful) 6- Using a bicycle pump, blew the rubber toggle valve out (could not pick it out due to sediment) cleaned, greased. 7- Replaced the rubber toggle valve back and tested for "toggle" operation (blowing by mouth, did not work due to having overgrown!!, for some unknown reason) 8- Filed it shorter by about "0.75" mm, replaced and tested again. It worked. 9- Reassembled all back, testing at every stage. All is well. I also found hose (behind the back light, driver side) disconnected and water spraying inside the body (common fault), just reconnected. This took a couple of hours (I was learning my way through) the alternative was 75 euro per pump!!
  5. Did you try cleaning the fuse box with switch cleaner? it may be that.
  6. Thanks for the reply, but no such luck here in Ireland, they want 85 Euro for one update with no free services. Citroen released the C8 originally with 1037364402, then the 1037368282 (my car), they then released the 1037368584 (I also have that), then the 1037383676 (which I am looking for). I have tuned the ones I have for Performance, Economy EGR OFF, DPF OFF etc.. but I would like to have the 83676 because I believe it has other bug fixes. I have bought an 83676 online, but unfortunately the one I received had less maps, it was not a genuine C8 but a C5 renamed!! I still have hope that some member must have a C8 with 83676 firmware on his/her ECU, and may also happen to have the tool to dump it and give it to me.
  7. I also have a C8 which sometimes does stupid things, I just: 1- Disconnect the battery 2- Turn ignition ON 3- Connect the +ve lead to the -Ve terminal for a few seconds 4- Turn ignition OFF 5- Reconnect battery again avoiding creating any sparks 6- Wait 2 minutes (The ECU takes a couple of minutes to boot), Lock and unlock the car 7- Start the car normally and all should be well. It keeps going well until the next reset for some other erratic behavior. I updated the ECU firmware and it seems better, but I want to try version 1037383676, if I can find it. Having said the above, I think you problem is related to bad connection due to age and metal oxidization, so it may be: 1- A dray joint on the Fuse Box PCB (indicated by removing the fuse and reinserting it) 2- An improper connection (disconnect and reconnect related connectors) 3- Leakage due to water or dampness, split wires, etc... There is a Fuse Box under the bonnet below the driver side) right hand wiper, disconnect the three big connectors and reconnect them (they have latches), sometimes rain water goes in there and causes erratic behavior. I had to spray the connecters and the PCB with switch cleaner (WD40 will do) for a stupid error.
  8. Did you try disconnecting battery and reconnecting after 1 minute?
  9. Hello, I have a Citroen C8 2.0 HDI Automatic Exclusive. I am looking for the ECU firmware, the details are: Engine: 2.0 HDI 109 PS ECU: Bosch EDC15C2 HW: 0281011334 SW: 1037368282 I am looking for the unmodified ECU firmware "C8 2.0 HDI 110ps 0281011334 1037383676". I would appreciate if someone could post it or pm me. Regards, Simple.
