I know what you mean about Citroen removing specs, I think taking cruise out of Exclusive is a bit mean especially as a new model is out next year, I thought they would keep buyers interested until then. Our 1.1 is a great shopping trolley, and for the price and running costs, you just can't beat it ;)

Wife used to own 2004 1.4 Desire, but have just bought 2008 1.1 Vibe with added cruise. Do I regret not having air con? Nah, uses fuel, cool blower good enough, no worries about seizing if not used or servicing, no bacteria build up. 1.1 engine eager enough for mainly two people, never use fog lights, solid red looks good, good value. £6450 on the road works out at about £1,000 cheaper than competitors equivalents, eg Fiesta, Corsa,Fabia and Clio. Cheap to run on petrol, insurance and servicing once every two years. And it still looks good even after 6 years.

If the fault occurs during the warranty period, and reoccurs after the end of the warranty, IMHO it should still be covered by the warranty, as the fault occured before expiry, and should be classed as ongoing. That's what I would argue. Good luck Eddie

CE08LDB If cruise is standard on certain models, then all you need is the stalk and the dealer to programme in. The wiring should be there along with the clutch switch. A lot of dealers have been told not to do it, but if you have a good relationship with yours, then I'm sure he will be practical and look into it for you. Eddie

Hi C5KJJ My 3 year old C5 was replaced at 105k miles and I was sad to see her go. If yours is running okay, keep her for a while and see how it goes. Great cars, great heritage. BTW, what part of France are you? Regards Eddie

Thanks Kfk, and if you don't come back I know you are busy :D Downsizing my Citroens as the kids get older :P
-
Main dealer fitted cruise control today £95 including VAT, job done. :D
-
Calling Kfk out there, hope you are well. Do you think adding cruise is a possibility? Thanks Eddie

Thanks Welsh Guy, will find out and let you know.

Sorry to add this one that may have been answered before. Is it possible to add cruise control on a 2008 C3 Mk 2 with a 1.1 engine? Thanks Eddie

Just a quick note to all regarding the long term high mileage use of my C5. It will be 3 years old in April and has 95k on the clock. Apart from a DPF change at 62k and a rear screen, no extra work needed and it has been absolutely brilliant. It has never let me down, the electrics have been fine and still returns average of 56mpg. 400m return trip to Norwich yesterday and got out as fresh as a daisy. Press and journalsits may scoff at Citroens but I would never look at anything else for work I would have a new shape C5 but am downsizing to a C4 EGS in April with all the extras as I have a Picasso for holidays and breaks.

Randombloke - naughty naughty! :o

Chilie Sorry to hear about your problems, mine is not quite 3 years old, 95k on the clock with no worries except rear screen to date. Try a small authorised repairer and independent for second opinion and price. BTW where are you located? Eddie

I would be tempted to get a GPS Extension for Lighter cable socket from Maplins for £4.99 and hide cables under the dash and the centre console to socket. Thats what I am going to do when I get my C4 in April.
-
Have you seen the pictures of the new C5? Absolutely fantastic. Bet What (Ford lovers) Car? will still think the Mondeo is better, but we know different.

Just a quick update, my daughter get her £400 excess back today out of the blue. The other party was insured apparently, but I think they decided to settle instead of being prosecuted. Thanks for all your support and comments. Regards Eddie
-
Well done on a good result. Not all Citroen dealers are crooks you know! My daughters C1 is fantastic. Let us know how you get on.
-
Thanks jw191. Yes we are still waiting for the outcome of the police prosecution. Maybe next year.......... :(

Welcome Acra. The only thing I can tell you as I'm not mechanically minded, is that the first service is about £150. I would try and negoatiate with the dealer you bought it from, you might yet say 10% off if you become a regular. Enjoy.

Hake Can't say I've really noticed about the flat spot, but it has been mentioned before. For the last 7k miles I have averaged 61.3mpg.
-
Welcome Motley With regard to item 1, if you have a look through the previous topics, I think that a grommet requires replacing near the base of the windscreen wipers somewhere. I'm sure someone will be along soon to correct me and help on the others.
-
I drove through a deep puddle in the C5 last night and it partially ripped off what I thought was a plastic shield for the exhaust underneath. ;) Luckily my local Dealer refixed it FOC. :(
-
Have you entered the code properly given when you renewed?
-
Welcome Tyke. Our 1.0 Vibe does about 300 miles to the gallon  Only joking. Don't forget the noise from the exhaust isn't a hole, it's the three cylinder engine. I told the dealer I thought there was a problem doh! Enjoy and let us know how you get on. Eddie
