All the best mate! What new car are you getting?
-
It's back again.... ;) :D
-
Hmm...tried both stalks (as I never use the trip reset button so wasn't sure which one it was!) and nothing happens...no counting down?
-
Stuey...you've probably read I had my service a couple of days ago - I asked them to look into the knocking noise again and they did...couldn't find anything seriously wrong but they did (finally!) hear the knocking sound. They noted that the gear cables were again against the bodyshop so fitted spacers..and so far so good. I can still hear the sound a small amount but miles better than before.
-
Not sure if this is entirely relevant but the noise from the cannister value has completely gone after my 20k service...
-
Thanks, will have to try this out as the spanner has appeared after my 20k service!

Hi Foxeye, Yes this happens with mine as well, and Kfk (our resident Citroen expert) has confirmed this unit is the source of the "problem". Well...it's not really a problem, more of a "feature" ! :(
-
The LAST resort would be to pay the £80 - you can find one at a breakers yard with a little searching!
-
Just booked mine in for 4th May - Costing me £195 with my local dealership. I did ask for a list of what was done/checked but I've forgotten most of them. Anybody (Kfk?) got a list of whats done?

Check out : http://www.eurovan2.com/forum/rt3-rt4/ The guys and gals on the forums are experts in the RT3/RT4 systems - they should be able to help you with any question you can think of! Hope this helps!

I think it's my mindset due to the Head Gasket change on my VT after 10,000 miles - I drove the car quite carefully upto that point (and still do), so I think I'm of the opinion that if the head gasket went with me driving sensibly, imagine what could go wrong if I spanked it!!! :)
-
Sorry to hijack this thread but I'm interested in this subject - My VT is driven quite carefully, as my wallet doesn't like Petrol Stations...and with a 1.4 I'm not exactly going to be driving like a rally car. However...I do give it the odd right foot action, but not pushing it (I.E taking each gear to the redline), as Im concerned my engine is bearing on the fragile side. Am I doing the right thing, or should I really give the engine some stick...as from what I've read it's good for it? :)

I dont remember anything being mentioned other than the build quality of the fob. You may want to contact kfk on these forums - he'd probably be the best man to ask.

@ philstott1983 I replaced my unit with an Alpine one connected to an Alpine 6 Disk MP3 changer :) Works very well, but as you mention there is the odd problem when I require the standard radio - take for example the switch to Summer Time...my clock is one hour slow in the car as I can't be bothered asking my brother to take my current Alpine unit out and switch it with the standard unit just to change the time! Just wait until Winter and the Time will be right again!

Kev, Thank you - received the docouments. I've had a quick peek through them this morning, and although very complex looking, there are several snippets of information that could prove very useful! Thank you for taking the time to highlight relevant parts as well - very kind of you! Cheers, Will keep you updated! Darren

Kfk (Sorry dont know your name!) Could I ask for your help please - To the best of your knowledge, do you know if: 1. The C4's ignition barrel is "standard" to that of most modern cars - I.E does it integrate into the CAN-bus system in any important way? 2. The C4's "economy" mode - is there a way around this. For example - my Alpine stereo powers down as soon as economy mode kicks in - can it be disabled? 3. The CAN-bus system - do you have any reference documents / links to it's "inner" workings? I'm thinking over a new project for my C4, but I need to know the answers to these questions first! Thanks for any help you can offer. Cheers, Darren

Could you try c4owners.co.uk, or if your not registered on there, could you post a link to where you are storing the photo's (if online). Ta!

Welcome to the board. I haven't got the same model as you so I can't comment, but congratulations on the choice of Black...they look awesome polished! :o
-
Does it have a standard ISO connection? As long as it does it will work, but as Wozza says you will probably lose the steering wheel controls unless you are willing to fork out the money for an adaptor. Both myself and Wozza have Alpine units. In my case (can't comment for Wozza) I needed an ISO to Canbus adaptor, but these are relatively cheap - I think I paid £15.00 odd for mine.

Where Do You Think The Warrenty Stands On Parts...
Welshguy replied to Mike5483's topic in C4 - General
If the part in question isn't doing it's "job", and it's within your warrenty period, kick up a fuss! -
@ Jeremy You say you HAD a Pioneer AVIC? Do you still have it? If yes, have you got pictures? I'd love to see what it looks like in a C4, and also to hear of your experiences with the unit.
