Still...would be better to get it sorted - imagine if you were selling your C4 and somebody heard the sounds..I know if I was a buyer Id be concerned! I think I will be trying the other Citroen Cardiff dealership - a 2nd opinion might shed some light on the problem.

Right...thats it...driving naked from now on! :D

Mine does this as well, but I thought it was an issue with my after-market Alpine stereo?
-
Thanks for the replies Wozza / Stuey - looks like we are stuck with it for the time being. Im just hoping it doesn't do any long term damage to the car.
-
Yeah sounds like my problem - does it happen when you tap the accelerator?
-
Ohhhh nice....I've been looking at these recently, although I also quite fancy buying a double din DVD touchscreen headunit and blending it into my VT's dashboard - can't really justify brand new prices though so trying to find a bargin on ebay..
-
Stuey, Can you give me anymore details? Do you hear it often...how loud etc? Cheers!

You could look in the yellow pages (or the net) for retrimming companies...they may be able to repair the seat for you. Or could be an excuse to get a full retrim :P

Went into Citroen yesterday afternoon to have the new gear cables fitted - Still doesn't fix what I want...the gearbox is now smoother, but I'm still experiencing a knocking noise when the clutch is depressed and when in gear and tapping on the accelerator. Any ideas people? It's driving me mad, and even time I drop the car into Citroen they can't replicate the problem.

Can't say it takes a long time for the car to demist, although the girlfriend does start the car for me in the mornings :D I tend to leave the car to warm up for a few minutes before putting any heating on - not sure what you and others do. -
lol yeah...economy mode would kick in fast I'd imagine! :D Had a quick chat with my brother last night about it...he reckons it's an easy project, and there are units out there (2nd hand) going for around £300. Tempting price, particularly if I sold my stereo/changer to part fund it...

Just been browsing the Planet Citroen website "sedefbb" is converting his VTS naviscreen into a Double DIN DVD unit...very interesting work - He needs to work out a few points, particularly how he's going to clean up the screen he has moved to the place of the orginal stereo, but looks good so far. Would be tempting...but I just looked up the price of this screen - I have varying prices between £420.00 (ebay) to £750.00 (panasonic) !!! http://img103.imagevenue.com/loc3/th_75523_1_123_3lo.JPG http://img148.imagevenue.com/loc31/th_75697_2_123_31lo.JPG http://img9.imagevenue.com/loc59/th_75756_3_123_59lo.JPG http://img132.imagevenue.com/loc215/th_75831_4_123_215lo.JPG http://img23.imagevenue.com/loc130/th_75904_5_123_130lo.JPG http://img21.imagevenue.com/loc155/th_75986_6_123_155lo.JPG http://img34.imagevenue.com/loc149/th_75968_7_123_149lo.JPG http://img9.imagevenue.com/loc141/th_76046_8_123_141lo.JPG

Apparently so...They closed my workplace at 1pm on Friday and told us to go home...I live 6 miles away and it took 1hr 30minutes to get home! I then spent 15 minutes clearing the driveway so I could get up it...and when I finally parked up I realised I had a screw in my back tyre... :D
-
Ohhh...I like that !!! Are they 18's ?
-
I ventured into work yesterday...one of only a few who bothered in my place - but then again I only live 6 miles away ;) Was a good laugh - I enjoyed every standing start :P Trouble started when I got into work...we had a major conference in a nearby hotel...and our receptionist was ill - so I covered - cue 300 telephone calls in one hour all asking the same bloody question "is your conference still on?" YES !!!! IT IS !!! Grrr.... :D
-
I stand corrected. :D

As some of you may be aware, my car is in with the dealership at the moment who are attempting to fix the reoccuring Gearbox linkage knocking problem. I popped in this afternoon to test drive the car, as they cannot replicate the problem, and unfortunately neither can I. When I drove the car though I could instantly feel the difference in the gearbox...it was smooth and fluid - usually it is a bit stiff and nowhere near as fluid. There was also NO knocking. I asked the technican what he had done to get this improvement...and he said he hadn't touched the geabox bar "pulling/moving" the gearbox cables out of the way to get a better look in the gearbox. What is everybody else's gearbox like...smooth or not? Every time I visit the dealership I tend to get this improvement in the gearbox, but it never seems to last, except the time when I had spacers fitted to cure the knocking noise which cured it for about 3 months. The technican confirmed to me that they are still fitted etc, so surely my gearbox problems are related to these cables? Kfk...any comments? I'd love any help/advice offered!

From a Citroen dealership?

While dropping the car into the dealership for warrenty work yesterday, I asked for a price for a 20,000 service, as the car has currently done just over 17,500 miles. The price.... £210 !!! What does that get me exactly? I was in too much of a rush to ask... The dealership did offer me a price-match though, although I was "warned" that it was very unlikely I'd get a better deal...(lol yeah....whatever!)

I'd put it towards either half of an engine (Turbo) conversion, or a full leather re-trim... Hmmm....I can almost smell the cows now...
