  1. yeah ive had a hard time tracking it down but i noticed today it was every time i press the accelerator. Only seems to happen from cold though - once the cars warmed up its fine as far as i can see. Still least if a few others have got it its obviously not fatal and my wheels arent just about to fall off lol. Usually have the music up too loud to hear anyway!
  2. Over the past week have noticed a squeeking noise coming from the car. Seem to have located it to when I press the accelerator but only seems to happen when the car is wet/not warmed up (havent decided which yet). The noise seems to be coming from the suspension but its quite hard to tell. Anyone else had any similar problems. I'm going to book it in but its going to be a bit difficult to show them since it only does it from cold so if I can give them any ideas before I take it in would be helpful Thanks Marc
  3. yeah but some people like me are really lazy and, though they know they should, they never check the oil until it runs out and blows the engine up lol.
  4. I find putting recirculate on seems to make it go really cold - dunno why but i def havent had a problem with it ever being too warm - i usually dont even turn it up that much. btw it does seem to get colder as you start driving.
  5. Thats a point - one of the safest cars to crash in lol. I drove a Kia Pride for a while - i wouldnt even want to imagine what would have happened if that had happened in that!
  6. Sorry to hear about that mate. I reckon your probably spot on though - bad road and inexperience. At least no-one was hurt and you can learn from it and hopefully it will make you a better driver in future. I've had my fair share of minor (fortunately) prangs, not always entirely my fault but could have been avoided by myself with a bit more experience. One of the reasons though I got myself an old car to start with (and due to lack of money lol). Glad your OK though and no-one else was involved. Marc
  7. Nothing wrong with mine - 4300 miles now :D

    Mpg

Mines doing 34.4 at the moment after 260 miles on a tank. Seems to be slowly improving as the engine loosens up (now 4000 miles). Certainly feeling much better to drive now. My engines 1.6. My mate reckons he gets 35 MPG out his Focus ST 170 though not sure how hes doing his calculations - he doesnt have a trip computer since it was an optional extra (typical ford lol) Not sure why yours changed Ciaran - I reckon someone nicked your keys and had a quick spin in it before you noticed lol Marc
  9. Took about a week for mine :D Think I ordered it Thursday(was still in France at this point), came off the transporter on Wednesday and was ready for collection on Friday (complete with spoiler fitted by the dealer). Though my Auntie ordered one and after waiting a couple of weeks for delivery it took a week to "prepare" it (not quite sure what they were doing). Still I imagine it all depends on what model / colour / spec you go for. Obviously if it aint been built yet your gonna have to wait a bit. Marc

    The C6

I heard on top gear the other week when they had the C6 on that Citroen were going to guarantee to buy your C6 back off you after three years to prevent heavy depreciation. However they didnt say exactly how MUCH they were going to buy it back for lol. If only pulling power are right though, might get one myself :D
  11. You should have brought the VTR - apparently we dont have half as many trip computers - or gadgets ;) Marc
  12. Yup your exactly right Ciaran. Spent ages in my car last nyt trying to work out what Wozza and that were going on about. Then i had a look in the instruction book and realised there are two different screens like you said - looks like me and you have the crap ones lol. Still at least it shows im not going mad :o
  13. Heard some people mention on the forum they have been using on trip reading for milage between fillups and one since they had the car. Looked on my car though and I can only seem to get two readings - one the constant reading as I drive and the second the average mpg since last reset. Am I missing something here or just being completely stupid <_< Marc

    Good Price?

I think most the dealers on the internet will allow you to change the spec - I know some you can do online but I'm sure the others will if you phone them up. For example drivethedeal.com allow you to do this online. The only option seems difficult to get is the spoiler which isnt listed as an official Citroen option but can be added as an option at your dealer (I had one added on a VTR). Remember too you get 0% finance at the dealer (not sure if you can get it at an online supermarket). Best thing to do is get a few quotes off the net, take them down the dealer and see what deal they can do based on your quotes. I got £1000 off doing this (they couldnt match it but did come reasonably close). Marc

    Good Price?

An SX / VTR will cost you around £12000 I think thought you could probably knock a grand off that. What Car have a target price of £10,973 for the SX 5 door. You should easily be able to achieve that if you ask around - my 1.6 VTR coupe cost £11k inc metallic paint from a main dealer (you might be able to undercut that on the net or pre-reg). Though I must say 8.5k for the VT trim seems cheap - is that new?

    C4 Drawer

Anyone know how I get the drawer back in. Have tried and tried but no luck. The problem is the metal spring - i attach it to the drawer, slide the drawer back in but as I slide the draw in the spring falls off back down the back. Thanks
  17. well the clio i went in was the 182bhp sport so obviously it wasnt set up to be comfortable but I found it too harsh down the motorway for my liking. The Focus ST on the other hand is a much better ride. Still if you want a nice ride I have heard the C6 is rather good
  18. I have a 1.6 petrol coupe VTR and everyone I have every given a lift to have mentioned how comfortable the car is and how well it rides. Although the ride is a tad harder than you would normally expect from Citroen its nowhere near as hard as the Focus or Clio which are far more uncomfortable for passengers.

    C4 Drawer

After much searching managed to find it. Now the difficult part - sticking it back in without the coil thing falling down the back again :D

    C4 Drawer

Thanks for that just yanked it out and that worked. Got my credit card out but managed to lose the spring/rolling thing down the back (oops). Think I might be able to get to it under the steering wheel but its so bloody hot in the my car at the moment might have a go later.

    C4 Drawer

done something really stupid and put my credit card in the top of the push draw thing next to the steering wheel (you know the ones made for change etc..) Anyway I pushed it back in and my credit card went flying down the back. I can see the card but having trouble pulling it out. Anyone know if it is possible to remove the drawer? Thanks Marc
  22. I would go for black - i reckon it looks best whatever the colour of the car. Think they come as standard in black anyway unless you want to spray it yourself.
  23. I got my C4 three months ago. Choices were 307 / Astra / Golf / Mazda 3 / Focus or C4. Spent ages looking round the garages but nothing really caught my eye - none of them really seemed worth upgrading from my 306. 307 - doesnt look great, expensive and due to be replaced soon Astra - loved the sporthatch, nice modern interior but once again pricey and no visibility whatsoever (goodness knows how you drive one) Golf - boring and overpriced Mazda 3 - looked like a decent car but very bland styling. Very roomy if I had a family which I havent lol Focus - this was my first choice, have always wanted a focus but was really dissappointed when i sat in one. Didnt feel that well built, cramped, odd and dated interior design. Didnt test drive it because I knew I didnt like it though I'm sure as all the reviews say they are a great drive. At the end of the day the C4 was the only car within my price range that really wowed me - looks expensive, sporty, drives well but without the high price tag or insurance groupings of a more expensive car + 0% finance over three years really couldnt be beaten. On the negative side of course you have Citroens poor track record for reliability + depreciation. Still my family have owned a range of French cars including a BX, laguna, Renault (Rubbish) 5, 306 and none have caused any problems whatsover. Few niggles on the C4 such as a rattle and electric window button not working but nothing major and to be expected from a new car. I know someone who purchased a brand new golf and the power steering broke within a week so I dont think other brands are neccessarily always more reliable anyway. Still if i had a choice I do really fancy one of them Alfa Romeo Breras (even if i will be mostly looking at it broken down most of the time lol)
  24. no its not the gearbox or engine as far as I can tell. The noise comes from the back of the car and is a a loud thudding noise like a brick has just flown across the boot. got to take my car back on the 8th to get the electric window done (switch has broken) so might ask them about it then. Just thought it would be useful if I could give them any ideas as to what it might be before i go in
  25. Definately not the ESP on my car because i havent got it :D Only seems to happen in first gear when i pull away too quickly.
