Same happened with mine - its a known fault which I think quite of few of us have had. Don't know why Citroen havent sorted it out. The dealer didnt seem surprised when i took it in - think it said it was a speaker wire or something knocking about. Fixed now and hasnt come back, though seem to have developed a new rattle on the other door now  Dont usually notice though cos i have my music on ;)

I've always driven French cars so havent really noticed the sloppy feeling box. Until the other day I drove a Seat Leon - was much better, very slick and positive feeling. Actually I thought the whole car was pretty impressive
-
Mine had to be topped up at about 7.5k i think. Seem to always be pumping my tyres up too.
-
Yes same happened to me. It an engine temperature sensor. Its a quick job at the dealers (took mine in one morning). The AA told me it was probably a sensor so I didnt need to worry so fortunately didnt have to get towed.

I havent really done any specific calcuations but I had the air con on all summer and didnt really find it made much difference to my MPG. Seems to be more affected by my driving style and speed - makes alot of difference going at 60mph rather than 90. Current fuel consumption is somewhere between 35 and 40mpg, mostly on motorway.
-
Must of been lucky with mine - mine took about a week to arrive from the factory to the dealers - think it took about a day to "prepare" which involved adding the spoiler and I picked it up the next day. Spose it all depends on what spec / any extras you order and of course if you have an unhelpful dealer

You sure the wind noise is coming from the doors and not the windmirrors - mine make a noise but then so do most cars I have been in. I know what you mean about the wipers - apparently there is nothing you can do about it. Drove a 207 GT the other day and that had the same problem with the wipers. My doors do not allign perfectly either (mines slightly out at the bottom). Apparently not a lot can do about it though.

The Focus ST is probably the better car (it has a lot more power and will handle better) though you need to consider it is going to be considerably more expensive to buy, run and insure. the C4 does look much better though

Mines done that as well. I usually just push it in (only use the button to get it out). Not really too much of a problem though.

Citroen And Bmw Use The Same Engines

Is a nice engine - drove it in the 207 yesterday. Pity the rest of the car was rubbish :D -
Award For The Highest Mileage C4 Goes To....
lab44 replied to Z3M Roadster's topic in C4 - Technical
After a full tank mine usually reads 422. Though I have had it showing 350 before after travelling 160 odd miles (was on a long motorway trip and the trip computer was showing 43mpg). I reckon about £40 of petrol gets me somewhere around 370 miles normally. Trip computer usually reads about 37mpg. Done nearly 12,000 in mine now (7 months old) -
Considering the price I think the C4 is pretty well built and reliable overall. The problems most people have experience have only been minor niggles. I've done 12,000 miles in mine and so far only a few problems - rattling door (fixed), electric window stopped working (fixed) and an engine temperature sensor broke (also fixed). Have found my local citroen dealer pretty helpful too so cant really complain. Over the last few months I have seen an 05 plate BMW broken down with smoke coming out the engine bay and an 06 Golf broken down at the bottom of my road the other day blocking the whole road. Just goes to show whatever brand you buy you can have problems.
-
Could be as Wozza said a faulty sensor. Mine came up once when the engine temperature sensor went - had the engine temp sensor replaced and 5000 miles later hasnt come up again.

Silver C4 five door (possibly an SX) on Coronation Street. Last night it was parked in the road and a week or so ago it was in the garage being repared (though why on earth anyone would take an 05 plate car to the local backstreet garage i dont know)

I check them usually around once a month. However my previous car never really required them pumping up. The three other cars in my household rarely have their tires checked and when they do don't seem to need any extra air. So what I really want to know is this normal for the C4? (just checking really there isnt any problem I should be aware of or anything broken :o

Anyone else had any problems with their tyres losing pressure? Just checked mine and they were reading approx 4psi below what they were 6 weeks ago when i last pumped them up. So far had to pump them up about 5 times since I got the car 7 months ago. Unlikely to be a puncture on all four tyres. Had my last car three years and I think I pumped the tyres up about 3 times in that period. Any ideas?

No problems with my aircon :D

A contract means basically you pay a fixed fee each month - usually around £30. For this you usually get a pre-determined number of free minutes and texts and a free phone. If you go over your "free allowance" you will charged the standard network rate. Not sure exactly what happens if you dont pay your bill one month but I should think they will probably stop your phone working and if you dont pay it on a regular basis you are likely to get a bad credit rating so not a good idea. A contract is usually either 12 months or more commonly at the moment 18 months (check carefully before you sign up). This is the one major disadvantage of contract phones in that you are usually tied in for a certain period of time. On the plus side you will get a free phone worth several hundred pounds and plenty of free minutes and texts so will work out cheaper than using a pay as you go mobile. If you do decide to go on contract take a look at the offers online. There are quite a few deals around and often you can get at least 12 months half price line rental on a phone (usually redeemed via cashback). Check out The Links website or Carphone Warehouse for some good online offers. Hope that helps Marc

I tried Shell V Power the other day in my 1.6 VTR. Engine seemed a bit smoother but didnt really notice any difference in power. However I did get worse fuel consumption - could have just been my driving though. Probably wont bother again seeing as its 7p a litre more. I usually find shell normal 95 Ron the best.
-
A few people have mentioned this - havent found any problem with my car (VTR Coupe). Yeah the suspension is a bit firmer than your typical French car but its no where near as bad as my mates Clio 182 or Focus ST. In fact all my passengers have noted how comfortable it is. Maybe its the VTR+ - bigger wheels might give a firmer ride.

Although the site now says they are doing 0% finance and min £1000 p/x on certain models :) You should easily be able to get a decent discount from a Citroen dealer anyway - just always be prepared to walk away - at the end of the day theres always another dealer.
-
cost me an extra £230 fitted at the time of the order when i got my VTR

Basically what happening to me only the AA came out and measured the engine temperature and told me there was no way it was overheating, to ignore the message and and drive it to the dealer get it sorted. Was only engine temp sensor in the end and took a few hours at the dealer to sort out. What was wrong with yours?
-
The handbook is confusing - says you can put in 10/40, 5/40 or 5/30 for the standard petrols. Was told by garage would be fine on any so chose the 5/30 seeing as its coming up to winter.
-
Mine always runs on 3 bars onces it warmed up. Only went higher than that once when it went all bars and that meant the engine temperature sensor was busted lol.
