Hi, I have a C4 Picasso and the Radio/CD/MP3 player installed is Citroen specific, ie it came as part of the entertainment/navigation package and has a Citroen button on it, and no brand name (that I can see).

I inserted a CD into the player, forgetting that there was already a CD in there, and it happily accepted the second CD. However, I cannot now eject the CDs, but the first one continues to play OK.

Does anyone have any idea how the CDs can be ejected?

Does anyone know who the manufacturer of these players is?

For info, the CDs were MP3s created at home.

Cheers

remove the cd player .once out remove top and bottom covers on the player and push the cd out.

By that do you mean remove it from its housing using those special pull tools but do not disconnect the power plug, as I thought disconnecting the power would need a Dealer reactivation.

Cheers

I do not think a dealer needs to be involved. If you look in the handbook it will say what to do for battery disconnection/reconnection and it is unlikely to need a dealer - when doing this on our C3/C5 there has not been any problems. There may be a sticker on the radio with its make. The radio may need 2 bent wire clips (there will be 2 holes each side) to be pushed in the holes to release it and then pull out, or it may be held in by small torx screws (I have not seen the Picasso radio).

It is probably a good idea to disconnect the battery, then if any of the electrics inside the radio are touched there will not be a risk of blowing a fuse or affecting the radio electrics. I have found the following procedure on our C3 and C5 has not given any problems:

- remove the ignition key from the car
- open the bonnet
- wait a few minutes for the BSI to shut down
- disconnect the battery negative terminal

When reconnecting
- ignition key out of the car
- reconnect the battery
- wait a few minutes
- insert the key in the ignition and wait a minute
- turn the key to the first position and wait a minute (Our C4 did not have this position)
- turn the key so the dash lights come on and wait a minute
- start the engine
- take the windows down and up to reset the anti pinch
- reset the clock (and radio on the C3).

OK, got the CD player out (it is a Magneti Marelli RT3-N3-09) and the first problem is that the covers are held in place with security screws. They are not the usual Torx screws either, these have a 5 pointed star shape with a centre pin. Looking at Torx kits on the web I cannot see this particular variety.

Any advice?
