wizwiz Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) Hi I have a Headache... and a 2.2 Hdi exclusive 04 plate. I purchased it as a cat D it had had a fire behind the headlight I think the source was the suspension pump. I had another C5 exclusive on a 53 plate. Clutch just gone and it needs a new cambelt and dpf and a host off other things so I thought I would take the parts from the 53 plate and fix the 04... to cut a long story shirt I thought I could patch in the part of the loom that was damaged and after a lit of head scratching I think I have done it. However i put my pump etc from the 53 onto the 04 and nothing seems to happen. The rear of the car has sat right down. The pump doesnt seem to fire up. Can anyone advise. Do you have to bleed the lrs fluid through and if so how. Do you have to pressure the reservoir to get the pump to activate. I dont know if I have made a mistake with my wires or if the pump needs a start. Any advice would greatly appreciated. Edited August 17, 2013 by wizwiz Quote
THOMASROBLOT Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 hellothere is a wire plug ( a big fuse) that is used for this pump, but it is hard to find itit is below the fusebox close to the engine, if I remember correctly it is a big 50A.And on certain model there is also relay close to the pump.If you want check your wire on the pump it fairly easy.you have 2 connector, the one with 2 wires must have one with 12V and the other with the ground. sometime some C5 have some difficulty to up the suspension, and you have to pressure a bite the reservoir ( 0,5 bar) I hope a help yougood luck Quote

coastline taxis Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Iif youve had a fire then the fuse will of blown.looking to the right hand side of the engine youl see a big black box next to the battery. twist the 4 plastic screw 90 degrees and lift lid off. youl see a fuse box on the right and to the front of it youl see a black wire with a 13mm nut on it. you need to be under the black wire.if you look at the fuse box youl see 3 plastic clips holding it down put a screwdriver in and prise each one as you use gentle prassure on the fusebox to lift it up. Chances are they will snap but dont worry as the fuse box will go back in. When you get it out youl see a row of maxi fuses find the blown one and replace. Just remember the black wire is live so if you feel you have to remove it to gat the fuse box out then disconect your battery 1st Quote
wizwiz Posted August 18, 2013 Author Posted August 18, 2013 Hi no fuse blown. I will take pictures tomorrow and post. Thx very very much for your responses. Quote
THOMASROBLOT Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 if you are really sure that your maxi fuse is OK,you have to check if the electricity goes on the pumpso check the wire on connector. one 12V and one Ground but the maxi fuse is not easy to find, so I am not sure you checked the right one.that maxi fuse are an average of one inch! they are really bigbut If you take a picture we will see. have a great day Quote
