Hi, thanks for the reply, battery is fine and the terminals are clean and working ok. Here is some more info that may help, central locking works as does the interior lights, side lights, electric door mirror, cigar lighter it also turns the engine over when you turn the ignition key but no power anywhere else.

This is likely a blown fuse. Check the handbook for one that covers these things but if none are listed then it may be a maxi fuse. These are not usually listed in the handbooks but will be in a Haynes manual which should also give the location - they are often located hidden in the engine fusebox and need the upper layer of fuses moving but I am not familiar with the Xsara to give definite advice.

i will check it out today and get back to you.

Look at the maxi fuses.   They're in the engine fuse box on the passenger side wing.   You'll probably find they're under the main fuse board.

Hi its a 2002/52 plate 2.0hdi, it had been great, no problems for 2 years then one morning it was howling down with rain, it started then stopped and wouldnt start again, i was told it was the crankshaft sensor so changed that but it made no difference.

The only thing i have found is, in the fuse box under the bonnet there are about 6 fuses on the left of the grey plug that have no power to them at all.

I have changed the fuse box but still no power to these 6 fuses. all maxi fuses under the fuse box are all ok.

I have no power to the ignition, no power to diagnostic plug so cant check for faults there, no wipers, no power to fuel pump as there is no ignition.

Could it possibly be a faulty earth lead somewhere?

You mention heavy rain.   Have a look at the multiplugs on the ECU.   There are three on it.   Could even be damp inside.   Do you have an undertray fitted to your Xsara?

Hello puygrenet555 - How's your car doing?   Did you get your Xsara running again?   It would be very useful to forum members to know?   Please come back and tell us.

puygrenet555 has not been back since the last post on 19th September so we may never find out how this was resolved, if at all. This often happens, members ask for help but do not let us know if it worked or what did work, not even a thankyou for the time taken by other members.
