So I've got a set of grey leather seats on the way to me, however I've just discovered that they're electric! How can I wire these up? No plug spare in the floor :s

So if they are electric, there will be no manual control on them. Maybe you'll need the harnesses as well off the donor car. Another possibility might be that you can swop the under-frames on the seats. If the seats you've bought are the seats mentioned in the ebay link in post No4, I've just noticed a discrepancy. Being 2001-2004 seats they'll be Mk1 whilst yours is a Mk2. Seats may be interchangeable but the door cards won't.

Doesn't look like the wiring is there as I canst feel any plugs in where the airbag connects to the car.. Hoping someone has a wiring diagram I could follow for it

I have moved the topic into a subforum since ones outside of one do not show after a few days and may be difficult to find. Once the replacement seats are fitted, it will be worthwhile telling your insurance company so they can not use it as a reason to avoid a claim.

Any info on the forum is appreciated since it helps others who may be thinking of doing the same thing and it is always better coming from somebody who has done the job as opposed to reading from the manuals.

Well my c5 doesn't have refitted wiring,.. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the seats? I know they connect to the g fuses in the glovebox but is there any relays I between the seat plug and the fuse box?

Well after making a new fuse box for an if ignition live to supply my seats and tapping into the fuse box for a permenant live my seats are now in and functioning.. Just need to figure out how to wire in the heated function

I had a Saab with heated front seats and from memory, each seat had a dash switch which included a temperature control/timer and in each seat there was a thermostat.

You are probably best to use an ignition controlled supply (maybe by using a relay or just a smart relay so no need to wire in to the ignition) so the heaters are not left on and then just use a fused supply to the existing heater switches on each seat. In my 2007 C5 handbook it lists the heated seat (even though it does not have them) as a G fuse of 30 amps for each seat from the G fuses 39 and 40, so direct from the battery via a maxi fuse - but there must be a relay somewhere since it says the seat heaters only work with the engine running (or you could use a smart relay as used in towbar wiring which works when the voltage is about 13 volts). So any wiring needs to be at least 30 amp rating. Example smart relay https://www.towsure.com/product/SelfSwitching_Combination_Relay

hi. couldnt understand why yours didnt have the multiplugs under the carpet. having asked around with people i know the general opinion seems to be that the 1.6 model didnt have the wiring put in because the alternator just cant give the power that is needed to run the heated seat and the car at the same time due to the size of the engine. if you get them up and running could you send me the info on how you did it please.
