Vincent Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 For the past six months I have tried getting the dread full transmission whine cured under the terms of the warranty but with no success. The dealer Freeborn Southampton have agreed the problem but cannot identify what is causing it.Citroen UK state that because the dealer cannot state what is causing it they will not honour the three year warranty. The whine starts badly at 35mph to 40mph in 4th gear and is definitely a transmission problem.Citroen will not authorise a new unit. The car has now done only 6000 miles. So beware that if you have a major problem then your warranty is useless. What can I do next? Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I would write to Freeborn and Citroen UK telling them that if the car isn't fixed to your satisfaction, you are going to reject it and hand it back, then if necessary take proceedings to recover your money.. If you bought it on finance, also tell the finance company. Dealers and manufacturers will try and fob you off unless you act firm. Visit your local Citizens Advice Centre. They will help. Quote
Vincent Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 Thank you Moderator.I have written several letters and emails to Citroen and Freeborn Southampton garage with the same answer as described. They just do not want to know.I will take your advice and discuss it with the local Citizen Advice Centre.Thank You Quote
