luk555 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 2009 c5. Hi does anyone know how to access the climate control selector,,, it recently was not adjusting until played with for a while, now won't adjust, think it's a loose wire or bad connector! When working was blowing correct temp so just think it's something loose. Randombloke Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I've had this on the passenger side, fixed under guarantee, garage claimed that the motor that drives the hot/cold mixer flap had died. Common problem on Mk1/Mk2 but I was not aware of it on the Mk3. Very costly to fix and was the only thing covered by the otherwise totally useless Network Q guarantee. Symptoms are that you can't alter the temperature by turning the dial. Outlets blow air at temperature already set/stuck on. Quote
luk555 Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 Hi, I've read several threads relating to the flaps,, I think it's just the control, a couple of weeks back after being tapped a couple of times the temp can be adjusted and when altered worked as norm, hence why I think there's a problem with the contact on the control knob, but don't no how to access it? paul.h Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 To remove the controller, the procedures are to disconnect the battery, remove the radio using U-shaped wire tools or blade like tools, unclip the controller surround, detach the controller and pull it towards you so the connectors can be undone. luk555 Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 Thanks Paul,, should be able to have ago at the weekend,, have you experienced this problem before? Quote
paul.h Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 No, I just had a look at the Citroen service box procedures for removing the parts. A 'radio removal tool' google search will show the type of tools needed - the blade type if the radio has slots or the U shaped wire type if it has holes in the corners. You possibly may not need to disconnect the battery, especially if the key is kept out of the ignition lock, but lots of procedures say to do this for no obvious reason. Quote
luk555 Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Hi Paul,, got the removal keys but cannot see where to unclip the unit, do you have a diagram??Also if I disconnect the radio/ battery will I need a code to reset radio( it is a nav +)Thanks Quote
Johndouglas Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 will I need a code to reset radio. No - the radio is coded to the car. But if you disconnect the battery you must follow the correct procedure for reconnecting it. Quote
paul.h Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 In the French RTA manual for the C5 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rta-B737-Citro%C3%ABn-Depuis-2008/dp/2726873758/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413901266&sr=8-1&keywords=9782726873755 ), there is a photo that shows a screwdriver or something similar being used to unclip the controller plastic surround. Starting at the lower edge inserting the screwdriver from above near the corner of the screen. It suggests there are 2 clips on the lower edge near the screen corners and 3 clips on the top edge with 1 in the middle and the other 2 just outside of the small screens. Quote
