robpace333 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Only reading in between 3/4 and Full when filled to the brim and goes down to just over a 1/4 but only needs £20 to fill it back up again , so obviously more in there than the gauge is saying ! Quote
paul.h Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Either you have found a cheap source for diesel or more likely the level sensor in the fuel tank needs replacing. Quote
paul.h Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I think BP garages sell fuel at highish prices but the fuel level sensor is accessed by lifting the rear seat and the sensor is then accessed through a hole in the floor. The sensor fuel pipes and electrical connector are removed and the position of the sensor in relation to any location markings should be noted. A tool may be needed to undo the large locking ring and then the sensor can be lifted out and any fuel drips caught. Remove the large O ring seal. If it was a petrol car the battery would be disconnected first to avoid any sparks that could ignite the petrol vapours but diesel has a high flash point temperature so will not ignite easily. Quote
robpace333 Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 Am I right that the Fuel Tank holds 54 litres ?Going to work out when to refuel using the mileage ! Quote
coastline taxis Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 the tank is plastic so once you take the circular ring of and remove the sender unit screw the black retaining ring back on as the tank can start to deform itself and youl never get the gauge back in Quote
