Yet another electrical problem !!

I turn the Side lights on and they come on dash lights come on but no side light on warning light comes on . Turn the switch another click and the Low Beam comes on and the Green light on Dash comes on .This nthen starts flashing but the Low Beam light stay on OK . A flick forward of the stalk or movement up and down sometimes makes the Low Beam Light On stop flashing and stay on . If I then go for the High Beam , lights on car come on as they should , Blue and Green Dash lights come on and after a couple of seconds the Blue Dash light goes out along with the Cars High Beam leaving just the Low Beam on and The Green Dash light . I can occasion keep everything on as it should be by moving the Stalk that the light switch is on up abd down or push it forward

HELPPPPP !!!

That sounds as though you need a new Comms 2000 unit. That's the switch unit which is situated below the steering wheel. You can find used ones on ebay but there are many different types. It's most important that the part numbers match. Otherwise it's a visit to the dealer. Also it's possible to get your own overhauled. See BBA Reman. The steering wheel needs to be removed, followed by the airbag. First disconnect the battery then wait at least 10 minutes before removing anything else otherwise the airbag might deploy.

Just been quoted £60 + from ANdrew Page so a bit cheaper than I thought . Been having a look in the car and everything seems to work OK if l push or pull the little end section with the slightest amount of pressure . Would a spray with WD40 around this area maybe cure it ?

Repairs to the wiper switch are possible but I do not know if it also applies to the lighting switch, see this topic from the C5 Common Problems post:

34. Trip computer does not work or does not display on the screen.

This could be due to damage in the switch at the end of the wiper stalk. A copper strip can break but it can be repaired, see http://www.citroen-o...itch#entry30402 and http://www.citroen-o...puter-question/

Rather than wd40, a switch cleaner spray may be better to try if it is just a dirty connection.

I folded a small piece of paper up a few times , pushed it into the gap , folded it over the outside and taped it so it stays there and it cured it . Must be a dodgy connection in the end bit that turns the lights on and off . It has taken the small amount of movement away but still able to twist it to turn lights on / off !
