poolielad Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Hi, just wondering if this price seems fair (and I ain't moaning, just asking) a lad I know who usually does jobs on my car as just quoted me £75 to do Pads and discs (front) and oil change on my 2002 citreon xsara.... I supply the gear.... Just wondering if this seems to be a fair price because he seems to have bumped up his prices... He does the work from home... What do you reckon? Quote
paul.h Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 A fast worker with a hoist might do the pads/discs in an hour or so but it would take me all afternoon on our drive with all the cleaning up and checking the disc runout. Similarly the oil/filter change but depends on how long you want to leave the old oil draining out. Within the £75 there will be liability insurance and a guarantee to cover as well as disposal costs and the labour charge and other business costs. If he does not have liability insurance then what happens if something goes wrong - this stops me giving too much help on other peoples cars. Quote
Johndouglas Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 In the past I've done all those jobs on my daughters 2002 Xsara and it would have taken me a morning's work. Even dealing with the undertray can be quite time consuming. 75 quid sounds reasonable. Quote
