Prices For Brake Disc And Pad Change

Hi, just wondering if this price seems fair (and I ain't moaning, just asking) a lad I know who usually does jobs on my car as just quoted me £75 to do Pads and discs (front) and oil change on my 2002 citreon xsara.... I supply the gear.... Just wondering if this seems to be a fair price because he seems to have bumped up his prices... He does the work from home... What do you reckon?

A fast worker with a hoist might do the pads/discs in an hour or so but it would take me all afternoon on our drive with all the cleaning up and checking the disc runout. Similarly the oil/filter change but depends on how long you want to leave the old oil draining out. Within the £75 there will be liability insurance and a guarantee to cover as well as disposal costs and the labour charge and other business costs. If he does not have liability insurance then what happens if something goes wrong - this stops me giving too much help on other peoples cars.

In the past I've done all those jobs on my daughters 2002 Xsara and it would have taken me a morning's work. Even dealing with the undertray can be quite time consuming. 75 quid sounds reasonable.

Thats a fair price tools arnt cheap these days
