Citroen 2Cv4 Carburettor Problem

Hi

I have just finished refurbishing my 2cv. It did not run when I got it.

Anyhow its running ok now I bought a new carb.

Thing is when I turn the engine off fuel leaks under the carb.

Any ideas?

Is there a fuel return pipe which is not connected?

wow thats a blast from the past and trying to think back 20 years to carb problems is hard ha ha.  id start by checking for a sticking float valve as thats what cuts the fuel off. Next would the drain plug on the bottom of the carb. if all ok then its got to be the main gasket

Many years ago I had a Maxi with the SU carb that flooded and stopped the engine. The float needle valve had come unscrewed a bit so its gasket was not sealing. You might also check the fuel hoses do not have any splits and are fastened tight with the correct size clips. On some carburettors the float height may be adjustable.
