moon_monkie Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any ideas. My C5 Hpi with xenon headlights has had an issue with the drivers side lens since before I got it. Basically it has what seems to be overspray from laquer or something similar on it presumably from when a previous owner touched up some damage to the front bumper. While it's not stopping the light working and the car has just passed it's MOT it does look a bit crap having one nice clear lens and one cloudy and yellowed etc. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas on if/how it could be removed without damaging the lens itself or would I be better leaving well alone? Johndouglas Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Gentle rubbing with a bit of T-cut should remove it. Or even some toothpaste. Quote
paul.h Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 If it is laquer on the light lens surface, the right type of paint thinners should wipe it off but check it does not attack the plastic lens first. Quote
DaveHerns Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I wouldn't risk thinners . The whole thing may go cloudy T Cut etc won't do any harm Quote
