Guest digitalinkjetman Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 If I was to remove the DPF and CAT from the exhaust system, I imagine there will be all kinds of errors flashing up on the display. But will any of these actually cause the car to switch to limp home mode?? I can live with messages, but not the limp home!! Quote
paul.h Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 With the cat removed you may find the exhaust emissions may no longer meet MOT standards. Quote
kfk Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 With the DPF removed it will more than likely go into limphome mode due to faults recorded with the particle filter pressure sensor. Quote

The emmissions is not relevent as the dpf and cat are not required for the mot, its only a soot test. Quote
Randombloke Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 The emmissions is not relevent as the dpf and cat are not required for the mot, its only a soot test. The DPF removes soot in the exhaust, and the MOT test looks for soot or particulates. So, if the engine is rather old it may have an impact. Quote
