Guest POSc5 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Hi Which tyres have you used, and how do they rate, as I will need a pair soon. Also, being a big old estate, do they need to be a high load rating / speed rating? (It has 215/55/16 W rating) Cheers Mark Quote
Johndouglas Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 do they need to be a high load rating / speed rating? (It has 215/55/16 W rating) Maybe, and maybe not.............. but get involved in an accident, if the insurance discover you're not running on the correct rating, then you've given them a loophole to declare your insurance void. In the past I've used Khumo which I found good at around 80quid a corner, but currently I'm on Barum Bravuris 2 215/55/16W which were a similar price. Quote
Guest c5vtr Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 God i'm glad this forum is back..i have Avons all round, Z5's on the front and Z3's on the back, roughly £70 -80 a corner. Good grip in this wet weather, comfortable and not a major amount of road noise. I had some cheap rubbish at half the price on previously which simply couldn't hack the diesel weight...the understeer was alot of fun as they failed. Quote
TimeTraveller Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 My dealer has fitted new "Autogrip" tyres on the C5 tourer (2009) I've just purchased...unimpressed! Quote
paul.h Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I am not sure of the Autogrip size, but it looks as if they are about £45 each (215/55/R16/W), made in China, on-line reviews suggest they may not grip too well in the wet but others are happy with them. If I were you, I would be replacing them if you find they are not too good. Quote
Parkesie Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Conti sport contact in 245/45/18 on my new shape estate. Expensive but they grip well in dry and wet. Had bridgestone potenzas on when i got it and they were noisy and appalling in the wet. Quote
seefive Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Does the centre piece come out on the Mk3 alloys? Looks horribly like it might be fixed, like the old Mk1 - meaning a special fitting is needed for balancing. I'm dreading replacing tyres - 245/40/19 - £100 budget tyres , but £250 for a brand.. Parkesie Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Centres pop put of the 18" on the mk3. Quote
