  1. put it into the dealers to be done. you will never get the correct level without diagnostic equipment and if you get it wrong it will cost you a gearbox plus labour
  2. your on the right track. a qucker way may be to remove the fan belt and start the car to see if the noise disappears. if not start checking air/vacum pipes. please keep us informed though
  3. start by checking your handbook and see what circuits it protects . then start by checking them circuits for any breaks or shorts in the wiring
  4. if its a Al4 tiptronic boxs then just let the dealers do it . its worth every penny as the level can only obtained when the fluid is at 84 degrees and its not just any old auto fluid that goes into it
  5. what year is your c8 as weve seen a couple of cars that although diagbox works on them the results arnt really truthfull. If its before 2008 try lexia. Have u recently had any electrical work done or new stereo or seats out etc etc
  6. try a bsi reset 1st. if that dosnt sort it then use lexia to activate the wipers and check the comms and bsi units while plugged into lexia
  7. As u look at the engine go to the timing cover end. just back towards the bulkhead you will see the exhaust manifold. its sits on the left of the manifold 2 x 10mm nuts and 1 rubber tube going to the top of it
  8. what year is the dispatch DPF or pre DPF
  9. as a general rule if the metal cords arnt visible then its ok. Im no expert on tyres so it does make more sense to follow pauls advice and let the experts look at it
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-C3-02-09-1-4l-8V-PETROL-ENGINE-TU3A-90k-miles-0795V-4-/400931885721?hash=item5d59671299:g:l7EAAOSwBahVcECK By the time you pay for head bolts and gasket then manifold gaskets then the time involved. Maybe better to just drop a new lump in it. Either way u have to buy a timing belt but with engine out timing belt is a doodle
  11. yes its correct most are like that now. Dont think its a expensive job at the dealers and will be done with no fuss
  12. best way will be to just follow the pipes coming out of the air con pump itself till u find it. Seem to recollect that they are at the timing belt end of the engine running along the main chassis but not a 100% mind
  13. yes it can so give it a good clean up or replace. most cars now are electric power steering
  14. most will tell u im not a 1.6 fan. theres a few on taxis round here now with the drivers getting 200k plus out of the turbos. They all change the oil and filter every 6 k so you would do well to take your friends advice. always use a low saps oil
  15. do yourself a favor and walk away from the car. your having problems and haven't even bought it yet
  16. bumper off im afraid. In the past we have used small zip ties on these to hold the cover on but depends on were the clip is broke
  17. try changing the fuel filter
  18. go to pass side and lift the carpet up youl see 3 multi plugs. give them a good clean up pulling them apart and use contact cleaner ( with the ignition off )
  19. unless you get a exclusive model you will go back to springs and shockers. Lads thats had them on the taxis havnt kept them long and end up replacing them for the hydroactive versions
  20. theres a seal in there that probally needs replacing. very very easy job to do. just remove the pipe and simply put the new seal on and refit
  21. have u recently topped the eloys oil up. if so did you rest the counters in the ecu
  22. just a stupid question but he does know the handbrake is on the front wheels as they wouldn't be the 1st to make that mistake. what were the reading
  23. lift the back of the center console up as much as the can as there are 2 prongs at the front that hold it in. re the wires with the gear lever surround off put your hand under the ride height switch and push it up then disconnect the the multi plug. the cigarette lighter will lift up with the gear lever surround. make sure your handbrake is on aswell as the lever also stops it from lifting
  24. if the garage your using plugs a scanner in and goes to live data then record it as your driving then it will tell them by the readings what is causing the trouble
