Blaupunkt Do A C4 Can-bus Stereo Harness Adapter
C4VTS replied to Mike5483's topic in C4 - Technical
They are €160 euros, about £110-00, and there is only one unit called the M.I.C.K.I and none appear to be actually in stock anywhere. The adapter is probably not available yet which is why there are no UK suppliers. -
I am back home now after 2 days in the Bristol area. The Golf was ok to drive with no rattles clonks or squeaks! and the handling and ride quality was good too. Just typical Audi/VW I guess. :o The interior is very grey and plasticky, but I found there was better accomodation for all my incar gadgets than the C4. :D The seats were firm but comfy, but I was starting to get an ache in my right shoulder, but no problems with backache, which I had got in the new Focus. The 1.4 engine was quite smooth and quiet, but somewhat lacking in power as expected compared to my VTS :P I am glad to be back with my C4. :D

Both my keys are the same with 3 buttons. What is a 'normal' key?
-
Mine is in a secure place at home, and is not scratched off.

I work a few hundred yards from the NEC in Birmingham and usually drive past it every week day. B)

Also insurance companies do not like mods, and even something like adding a rear spoiler would add the cost of the spoiler to the premium. I think they would just not pay out to repair non standard addons unless disclosed.
-
Not much wrong with the standard factory car then. :D :o B)

What do you think of the bodystyling kit? http://dws.keycast.com/Media/Libraries/864/1/R1857_w780_x_h585_6b9e0cfd-6e71-4c83-a6ab-e79fcae73a59.jpg

Congestion Zone is nowhere near Earls Court but parking will cost an arm and a leg. B) http://www.cclondon.com/download/DetailMapCCZ.pdf From February next year the zone is extended and will cover Earls Court. http://www.cclondon.com/download/wez_A3Map.pdf

That's because you are using Firefox browser I guess? I used to be a dedicated Firefox user, but am now using MS IE7 RC1. Firefox was giving me so many problems, and has some serious security flaws, that I decided to give the new IE7 a chance, and never looked back since.

I have been given a VW Golf hire car for business use until end of tuesday. It's a 56 reg 1.4S with aircon and 1,500 miles on the clock. Not driven it yet, and will not bother until monday, but the build quality does not feel as good as my C4. Just thought it might of interest on how it compares to a C4, and my initial impression is that the C4 feels better quality inside, and certainly looks better on the outside. http://aycu25.webshots.com/image/6064/2002160848965054398_rs.jpg http://aycu23.webshots.com/image/5622/2002177647445096238_rs.jpg

Surely if it's only on 2 bars as normal, then when you see 4,5, or 6 then gives you more chance to set those alarm bells ringing :P :D When my Audi A4 overheated due to an incompetant 'specialist', my dashboard lit up like a christmas tree, so I knew it was time to stop the car. :D

Car looks nice Welshguy :D

Surely Citroen pays for the warranty work that is carried out for the customer? :D Yeh, that makes no sense. Surely you just claim for the time and parts allowed by Citroen up to a certain limit, say 1 hour, and take a loss on any time spent over that ? :D Citroen are not going to know how long a particular technician took on a job. :P

I love it when people say that. Well, I guess you are very happy now kfk :P :D

I was thinking about getting a Blaupunkt DAB54 fitted, and might still do one day, but the roof aerial would have to be replaced which really needs to be done by a professional installer plus the cost of the aerial itself, it could cost about £200. Also I would not be wanting to be without the rear parking sensors audible alert. I have tried my old Blaupunkt Los Angeles non-DAB unit in my C4 and it was much louder and better sound quality than the standard radio. I actually drive most of the time without any radio on, as I prefer to hear my C4 :D

Why go to all that trouble ? I rarely see more than 3 bars on my water temp just the same as most of the guys on here. I think it was only during that very hot weather I got 3 bars. Seems quite normal. :D I would just leave it alone. :P If it isn't broken, don't fix it. :D

The hot air problem is most likely the heater box. The whole unit used to have to be replaced which is a 2 day job, but I am told that Citroen can now supply and fit just the faulty gear mechanism that selects hot/cold air. The cruise control fault is probably just a faulty switch on the clutch, brake or accelerator. It sounds like your Citroen dealer does not have a clue what they are doing?

Check your Maintenance Guide for the correct oil type. See this thread on oil.

It might be worth putting the standard bulbs back in to see if that makes any difference, and would also be necessary if you were to try and claim warranty. I expect a dealer would want to see the condensation in the lights as proof of a possible defect, just the same as when my rear view mirror droops only when parked in very hot sun.

Well at least three miles at least is needed to warm up a diesel engine properly, so there is nothing unusual about that. I always walk for any journey of less than 1 mile, as the car engine would still be stone cold. My Audi A4 TDi was the same. For the engine braking, you must use lower gears, as 5th and 6th are made for cruising rather than slowing the car down.

I have a french one in PDF, if that's any help?
-
What is the problem ? As wozza just said, unless you tell us the exact problem you are complaining about, then nobody can help you. :D
-
I think you are quite normal  , well.. compared to me anyway. I often go to my front door and open it just to admire my car on the driveway, and for some reason, I like to do this more when it is raining  or probably just another excuse to have a look at my car. :o

My Audi used to get condensation in the headlights overnight in winter. Maybe it is caused by a bad seal ? Not noticed any problem with my C4 xenons yet, but with the colder weather approaching I will keep an eye on it.
