Sister, If you're looking for problems as it were. about the only thing I'd criticise the Blingo for dimensionally is that it's turning circle is perhaps a bit worse than you'd expect. It's not a big problem (and I haven't checked the specs of the D***lo or the Kan'tgoo) but it occasionally makes me take second stab when manoevreing that I would'nt need in other cars.
-
It was OK on Speedferries without extra charge at it's declared "official" height (1.84m from memory) - and it definitely fits OK on the shuttle.

There may be an old thread on the subject from the days when we were more active round here. Colour was as widely debated as the petrol vs. tractor fuel argument (no spin there!). Ours is Sahara Gold (or Beige in DVLA speak  ) I wanted the metallic dark green, and SWMBO and the kids wanted Wicked Red - so we compromised. About the only thing we agreed on was that we didn't want a blue interior (which is a pity as the Poseidon Blue extrerior colour is quite nice). I think Iron Grey would be a good choice - it wasn't available last year. cheers

I would say that the Blingo is no worse than the Picasso (it's only about 100kg lighter kerb weight depending on model. Now the C2, that's another matter over the Medway Bridge on a bad day
-
Sistermusic, We too "upgraded" from a Picasso - you won't regret it (and nor will your wallet  ). Height has never been a problem for us - the only dimension issue with a Blingo is the space you need to open the tailgate. Personally I cannot go forwards into a parking space in a car park as it is an affront to geometry - we end up driving round to find an "appropriate" space if we need to open the tailgate. Having said that, it is very easy to use a side door and tilt the rear seat to get boot access (Thats another area where the Blingo scores over the Pic)
-
It's a pity they don't do the Mudutop version in Sahara Gold. Do you know if they do a C2 (1.1SX) in Silver ?
-
I have been with an "Approved Repairer" for some time now with the Berlingo and C2 and am delighted with the prices and even more delighted with the quality of service. They're a bit far from you (Harish Autos, London NW9) but they have done the suspension "cup" recall on the C2 - and there were no problems when it turned out that the part supplied by Citroen was bent and caused a noise over speed bumps as it hit the compressing spring. They also do more than the CItroen schedule rather than just working their way down the list and ignoring anything else. To all intents and purposes, you ARE dealing with a Citroen dealer.

I did that to ours while lifting it off to clean the car. Fortunately it broke in such a way that when placed back against the screen the blade stays in place - and it still works (some months later) !

It's interesting - I have never described our Blingo as a Multispace - altohugh I suppose the dealers need to distinguish between our luxury MPVs and the van. However the pronunciation of vehicle and manufacturer names is of paramount importance within the industry. When Vauxhall replaced the Senator with the Omega, I was at the AA. When we received the technical info Vauxhall were most insistent that we referred to the car as the "Ohmega" rather than "Owemeega" Hyundai insist on "h'yundie" instead of "hi - unday" Seat don't like "sea-at" and always say "say-at" Skoda say "Octahvia" not "Octayvia" I'm sure there's more

Yup, the Blingo gives aways it's origins with an industrial sized clunk when the doors lock. The C2 is a much more refined and muted click.
-
One thing's for sure, I will definitely try to lift the tailgate after closing it each time just to be sure it is properly closed - better safe than sorry. At least then if it does fly open I will know it is a vehicle rahter than owner fault.
-
Benemja, The "autolock" is one of the reasons we buy Citroens - I'malways happy with the knowledge that my wife and kids are safe when out and about. I often play the "outraged buyer" when asking about this feature when idly shopping for other cars knowing that it's not a feature - except on Jags and London Taxis (and probably a few others but not on anything which might be considered an alternative to a Citroen). Another thought on the boot - is it simply adjustment on the catch - if you don't necessarily drive with doors locked, you wouldnt notice the "clunk" of the system unlocking as it detects the mislock of the boot not being properly latched. I have occasionally closed the tailgate and found that it hadn't latched - could this have been your issue ?
-
Not something I've been aware of either. Out of interest, do you have autolocking enabled ?
-
Del, Yes again. GT Towing fit Witter towbars and there is no bumper cut on our Blingo. cheers The only thing to remember is that with a 4 bike Pendle rack on the back you shouldn't still put 60 bottles of wine and 48 bottles of cider in the back This Old Thread - reminds me of last summer.
-
Del, Mine is an '04 1.6 Petrol but I think the principles will be the same - the issue is the fact that the wiring is multiplexed. GT Towing of Potters Bar (Herts) fitted our towbar and electrics with no problems at all - and I quizzed them on the wiring before giving them the job as I had concerns. From memory, £190 "all in" fitted in about one and a half hours (just time to walk to the nearest pub and have lunch)
-
Just to bring this Blingo (all Citroens) "feature" back to the front. Following an accident (which didn't look too bad cosmetically but as the impact was taken on the O/S/F wheel neccessitated an awful lot of steeering suspension replacement), we've just got our Blingo back. I've bought it on the long commute to Kent today to make sure all was well at motorway speeds and (it's almost comforting to say) on a left turn that "loads" the o/s/f (off a roundabout for example), there's the "Blingo clunk". And that's on a car which has just had a comprehensive geometry check, laser alignment and all that malarkey. "they all do that sir"
-
I was looking for something else today when I found this - apparently it's a Sbarro Bourlingueur - does anyone know anymore about it ? http://www.madle.org/sbarro05.jpg
-
I love the idea but if the rear doors work in the same way as the current version (slider at the bottom of the rear side window) then they'd only open half way. (it also looks like someone's been at the "BMW Z3 coupe juice")
-
Tronboy, 1. Given that it's multiplexed, have they made the 'leccy windows work after the key is removed ? 2. Does it still have the "old" remote stereo controls or does it now have C2/C3 stalks with the controls on the end ? cheers

I put London but I'm lying - actually Stanmore, Middx

My independent (Citroen Approved) Harish's Auto Service can reset without problem. Incidentally, my C2 has just been recalled for front spring cup fitting (Harish's will do this as well). Is there any model of Citroen that hasn't been recalled for this !
-
I'll go along with the "swap live and switched live" theory. Although I've not made a swap, it's a common question from the kids on the C2 site. (and yeah, I'm only posting to keep the thread count up)
-
At least Citroen are good at recognising the independents under Block Exemption. I'm delighted to be out of the dealer network and still within the warranty - and paying £160 for a better job than the main dealer would do anyway  .
-
Welcome - let's hope this board fires up a bit (there's a bit of a barney going on at the X9 board at the moment, the BMW K series forum is even slower than this, I'm about 300 years too old for the C2 owners club forum and the Pentax owners club is too focussed (sic) for banter). I think I may be a bit of a saddo

It's not always the case that the big cities are a rip-off. In NW London I have literally dozens of independent tyre fitters and chains to choose from. That makes for good competition. We replaced a tyre a while back following a sidewall puncure and from memory it was £55 for a Michelin. Having said that I am less fussy about brand on the Blingo as it is "ambled around" most of the time. I'll be slightly more choosy on the C2 and I'm fussy to the point of obsession on tre bike.
