  1. Absolutely, this is a massive probblem on the Picasso as well. Wheel and tyre runs you over £75 and it's been going on a long time. What's worse is that Citroen are fully aware and have a "security kit" which they will supply free if you whinge a lot but is not cheap otherwise. My brother in law has it on their Picaso but I understand it's a "single use" lock. I'll have to look at that as it doesn't make much sense to me. My solution on all our Citroens is a steel "tow sling" which you might be able to blag from a nearby AA or RAC man and a waterproof padlock.
  2. AFAIK, this phenomenon is particular to Direct Injection diesels such as the HDi. Ignoring the issues of bleeding/priming for a minute which hasn't really been a problem for 20 years or more (although I remember having a right "Steffi" trying to start a recalcitrant old market trader's Transit when I was on the AA - 24 volts, cracked all injectors, half a can of easystart, spun the engine for minutes at a time....). Sorry I was miles away..... Anyway, generally, DI engines use the fuel itself for lubrication of the injection pump - so running out of fuel would be technically a "bad thing". By the same token, putting petrol in an HDi is a big problem compared with older diesels (when 15% would not be terminal) as petrol has no lubrication properties - in fact it washes oil away.
  3. The "foldy" blind is handy for puting things in the boot without opening the tailgate. It will take lightish things without a problem - and it's OK with a suit carrier on it (even with lots in it).
  4. that's four words
  5. Clare, Many of us have traded up to Blingoes from the Picasso We'll see you back here in a few months/years time
  6. Bummer - My C2 is going to be difficult to get rid of in three years time without ABS - I jumped too soon. I would have paid for it (then I'd be even more miffed) but I took a "showroom" car as it was right there, right colour, right trim and right price.
  7. carried the day.
  8. In reverse order. Give Broads a call (should be able to get to Chalfont down the M40 in 2 hours - depending on exactly where you start from). Ask for Dominic 01494 873045 (mention my name) Colour is hotly debated here - Poseidon Blue is nice if you can face a blue interior. I think wicked red is a bit too dark. I like rainforest green but the rest of the family vetoed it. Silver is nice and safe. Sahara Gold is the best, classy and understated - but the knockers (and the DVLA) will call it beige :) Deciding between the 1.6 and the 2.0 is simple - do you want petrol or diesel. It's another hotly debated subject here (or it was until the board got deathly quiet). For my money - go for the 1.6 Petrol (see my sig !) Don't let anyone talk you into a Picasso - many of us here are Picasso converts - the Blingo is a proper Citroen.
  9. Aha, we are still alive here. I have no issues with the lights - having said that, we live on the outskirts of London and there are few unlit roads anywhere around and we rarely drive at night anyway. Coming back from France this year, the first couple of hours are done in the dark and the lights were fine. No better or worse than other modern cars in my book.
  10. We mentioned this when ours had it's 1500 mile check. I grabbed all the joints and stuff and found nothing obviously loose. I'm not too concened at thsi point but we will keep an eye (or ear) on it - if anyone comes up with anything specific/definite it will help. and yes, our Picasso did it as well.
  11. That rounded bonnet looks a bit Re***ltesque - aargghhhhh!!!
  12. placed a maggot
  13. deluxe battery powered
  14. favourite place to.....
  15. Cripes ! - it's dark enough inside a Zaffira anyway - let alone one with a lower ceiling. Not a habitual user of the M25 then ! The other advantage of aircon is in the winter - much faster demist. . I wouldn't be without it. It was so muggy yesterday, I had the aicon at full chat in the C2 at 0500 hours :( I'm not so sure - with every toy in the toybox, our Blingo barely cracked 10K - Picasso's might start at under 10 (just) but add the toys, and the engine to pull it and even with discount you're paying a couple of grand more for a lesser vehicle. At the end of the day, let's keep the Blingo a secret - let everyone else buy Picassos, it'll be good for our residuals :D
  16. Jon, Yup, my 1.6 petrol Desire does this. I believe it's from the off-side somewhere ands happens most often when we drive off our driveway which involves a "downhill right turn". Could it be a road spring rotating ? The Blingo has just had it's first (1000 mile) service/check which did not identify a problem. I had already grabbed all the steering links etc to check for play. If you find a specific cause, do post it here (as I will)
  17. Amen to all that. We're only a couple of months into the Blingo but I wouldn't go back to a Picasso even if they were cheaper. My only real complaint is why oh why did they bother multiplexing the wiring if they weren't going to put in digital dash, trip computer, windows that worked after the ign turned off etc.
  18. Most of those links want to turn it into a Camper (shades of Jacques Tati's "Traffic"). There was a camping conversion thingy on eBay a few weeks ago. Started at £500 but had no bids whatsoever. Now, a VTR that's another matter - I'm waiting for these pics. It might keep those diesel jockeys quiet for a bit
  19. But not with a 1.6 Petrol - although I am a Citroenist, there is a Peugeot dealer nearer to me so I popped in - they're even more bizarre in what combination of engine/trim & spec are allowed. True - introduced '68
  20. Never mind Mokes, they should have used Meharis if they were trying to be "kooky" To keep on topic, go for the Modutop if you have kids. You can also keep your hat in the drivers cubbyhole. I'm with Steve that aircon is essential - certainly it's worth the extra in my book.
  21. Yup, 2 of each here too (Desire). Is yours a pauper spec Blingo ?
  22. I think Citroen have always been a bit "variable" with badging. Our Desire doesn't have a Desire badge anywhere. Our Picasso didn't have the SX badge but others did. By the way, where's this forum been ?
