Welcome to the forums mate im over on TA as well but dont really post very much only on there as im looking for a cheap XXX 12 when i finally have some money again. Im not sure if the economy mode can be disabled or not it should be possible but just depends if you play the music for longer than 30 minutes without starting the car up. I know there were some people on another forum that went under a while ago saying there economy mode kicked in after literally 10 seconds. So possible it could be changed somehow. You could mount the strereo in the dash dont see it being much of an issue really my crossovers are in the dash and theres quite a bit of room behind there. However there may be another possibility the higher end C4 omdels have all the stereo functionality on the steering wheel taking up a few extra buttons could be possible to get those buttons from citroen and retro fit it. that way you dont need the standard stereo at all. I have lost no functionality can still change my mpg display etc.

I dont reach the mirror im not that tall though only around 5"11. But with the seat at the lowest setting the mirror is quite out of the way. Just depends if you have the seat as low as it goes or not i personally prefer to have it as low as possible. My mates 6"5 didnt have any problems when he drove it.

ESP basically stamps on the brakes when it feels any slip and cuts power thus making you slower. If someone who is fairly decent behind the wheel is driving the ESP just gets in the way. Take your car on track and try it yourself you will notice you get better laps with it off and far more fun ones. Car is very unlikely to tailspin unless you go into a corner too hard and lift off the throttle. As with a lot of FWD cars lifting off does result in oversteer. If your not expecting it and slam on brakes etc then yes your gonna spin. If you go with it and adjust steering and throttle you can bring the car back. ESP is a good thing to have when your just driving along when your driving the car a bit harder and having fun it just gets in the way and stops the fun.

They are great cars but if i was spending that kind of money would not be on a Porsche unless i had the money for a Carrera GT. Just think the normal ones are a bit dull and they seem to get uglier as time goes on. Classic ones were cool though.

Ok going to bump this back up rather than make a new topic since people wanted to see pictures of the sidestrips and A B pillar trims done. Took some yesterday lost my bluetooth dongle though so need to find that first before i can upload them i had it the other day so will have a look later only took them using my phone though.

Seen a lot of reviews which say theres not that much difference between them but the focus is a little better. But drop some cheap lowering springs on the C4 or just some uprated ones that dont lower by a massive margin some will do it by 15mm etc so not really that noticeable and might give you the nicer handling you want without the loss of too much comfort. Also will give you some more confidence in the car. Want to put some on mine but gonna wait a little bit first before i do anything else. And when the ESP comes back on can you not just press it again to turn it off?

Same with my bodyshop looks rather dogy outside then yo go into workshop and its usually filled with 100k+ cars. As i said when i was writing about my car they had been building a £300k impreza in there specifically for rallying had load of local businesses all over it for the sponsors etc. But its a good sign when you see expensive cars on the forecourt means they generally have a very good reputation and are normally still cheaper than the bigger well known places.

Dont know how have it on my car would have thought you could disable it though seems a bit of a pain if you cant.

Turn the ESP off when your having some fun and the traction control. Otherwise the computer will try correcting things for you. And dont be too worried about the end braking loose a tad its easily managed when it does break loose.

Not a lip i think its a whole new spoiler. And there was a couple on ebay going for £35 for the whole new bumper. A and B pillar trims done same colour as spoiler is a good thing to get done as well. WHat i have had done on mine as well as the sidestrips.

The VTS engine is a ripper - the redline is 8000rpm and it sounds brilliant. If only I had the confidence to pull the car apart to add a bit more padding....given my distant proximity from Europe, do-it-yourself mistakes can be very costly on these cars in Australia. Dont have to worry the majority of the car pulls apart very easily just clips together. All that holds all the bits of the boot trim on is 4 screws the rest is just cips. doors are 5 screws i think and then loads of clips. Dash only has a few screws as well.

See i would do things like that myself but with me only keeping cars a short amount of time i would rather a dealer service them or a specialist knowing it will help it sell in the future with a full servce history. My little cinquecento i do all the work myself my C4 goes to the garage just because of the price difference of the cars the cinq being worth £600 - 800. And the C4 being around 10x that. It makes sense to have that dealer stamp in the book. No one gives a toss when buying a 12yr old car if it has a full dealer service history though but a 2 - 3 yr old car makes a difference.

VTS has a stiffer ride. Your actually made aware of this when you buy it when you read the brochure also should have a thicker antiroll bar etc. All to aid in keeping bodyrool to a minimum and giving it more of a hot hatch feel.

Sod it i cant be arsed searching... Put car into reverse warning disabled. If you want it permantently disabled unplug the connectors. the ones in the rear arent too difficult im not sure if the ones in the front are connected to other systems such as the airbags etc.

Nice one mate, How you finding the VTR+ then? Finding the extra gadgets are worth the extra cost?

Focus also has PSA engines in them. And the new Mini Cooper S will although partly designed by BMW as well. Door trim rattling is a known issue the dealer should have been able to sort lots of us had that issue was easily sorted mine doesnt really rattle even when the musics up loud and if that doesnt cause rattles nothing will. Only rattle im getting currently is from the tailgate but i got rid of most of those by padding out the plastic trim a little more myself.

As i said took me 12 weeks to get mine have to be patient with new cars that are built to your spec. If you had not ordered sunroof etc probably could have had one in a couple weeks same when i got mine. If i want black or silver would have taken them a couple weeks to get it i asked for red 12 week wait at the time.

Go look at one properly mate they look great from certain angles but the interior is lovely. And is a shame about the Monaro such nice cars nice roomy car with a corvette engine under the bonnet. Cant go wrong with that. comfort and fun.

The hatch has them the coupe does not it is an odd thing why there not in the coupe there has to be a reason why there not there but they are in the 5 door.

Any decent bodyshop should be able to knock that out mate. the crease between my door and rear quarter had actually bent on the interior section as well as the exterior they managed to sort it out cant tell now. If the bodyshop has a decent panel beater or someone who knows what there doing thats fixable. Otherwise your looking at around £1500+ for a new rear quarter. but that honestly looks fixable to me.

Can i see a picture of it due to where my car was damaged it sounds like was in a similar place to mine and my metal was rather messed up and bend and if you look at it now you cant tell there was ever any damage there. And its things like this which piss me off no one can have anything nice in this world now without some scumbag who sits on his arse all day claiming off the dole and getting drunk / drugged up. Jealous cause other people do something with there life and hes still sitting in his freebie house from the government on the dole with no life and no money. Personally think mass castration and shooting should be done to the chav population.
