Never trust oil guages in cars. Rather check them myself seen too many reading as having full oil and there not being a drop in the car.
-
Im just gonna come out and say eh!? Dont get exactly what your wanting to know.
-
Mine used to give me around 340 miles to a tank it will now give me 420ish to a tank on the readout. Mines started to loosen up as well pulls better now anyway. Just still not getting much over 28mpg usually though. but that is city centre driving so lots of stopping and starting.
-
Mines on around 5500miles now seems to be doing on nearly every take off used to be very smooth to drive now unless im giving it around 3000revs off the line it just does not take off with juddering. but i dont particularly like takign off at 3000revs either just not right have it back into citroen soon see what they say. Will let one of my mates or my dad or someone take it out as well see if it does it for them cause sometimes you just dont realise your driving differently.
-
had it happen twice but mine is a petrol and just a cvase of switching off and turning on again that fixed it will take it into the garage now and ask them though also seem to be getting a lot of clutch judder recently and i dont think im driving it any differently than i used to.

Just bumping this up wondering if you managed to gt any freebie parts from companies for your C4 mate? Just be nice to know what cittuning etc said they could do with ya car.
-
Just a 1.6 16v TU engine. Really quite easy to get parts for to tune them to be honest. Get a nice exhuast and ket some cold air fed to that filter and a remap you shoudl be seeing 130ish bhp then.
-
Anything designed for the 1.6 16v engine should fit. The 1.6 in the C4 and C2 is basically the same engine as was in the 106 gti and saxo VTS. Just you can get a pipercross kit for free off them if you leave your car there :)

My diagnostic button is on the top of the dash next to the speedo. But usually it only says if the cars got auto lights etc on. Does it actually do something useful?

At the bottom of the seat the handle to make the seat recline you know the controller thing? Sometimes the belt goes inbetween that and the seat. Then the seatbelt works its way loose as it goes it looses the belt off more and more. Does in my case anyways.
-
i know what causes this and no it cant be fixed. next time you put your belt on look as see if the belt get down between the recliner part of the seat the handle to make it recline if it does and it gets loose afterwards causes the seatbelt to slacken. What did it on mine i found out.

You have the 1.4 right? Not sure how tunable it is. I know the 1.6 is basically the same engine form the 106gti saxovts etc and as a result the amount of tuning for it is mental. Can see the otherside of 300bhp if i want a car i have to repair weekly...so not happening lol. Not entirely sure with the 1.4 though. Took my test drive in the 1.4 though seemed alright around town just needed a little pepping up. And syrup yep recommends 98ron in the book i know. Says on the cap as well 95 / 98ron.

The area the blades clean on the other side do you actually use that part for viewing out of? i dont think it matters that much your talking 1cm or so worth of difference. And try wiping the blades off with a rag soaked in alcohol or vinegar etc just to clean them off properly might have some much on there thats not come off properly. Mine are fine but i woud expect they should be after only 5 months of owning the car.

Deffinately wasnt this time. My mate who was in the car commented it didnt feel right as well.
-
The optimax here is only a 1 - 2pence difference over the normal stuff and my mpg does seem to go up slightly on optimax for some reason. So it balances out. But have read through that webpage. All i know with my car is it doesnt feel as nice on the 95ron stuff.

Why would your insurance go up? Theres something a little messed up there. I know when looking at the IAM test etc those few insurance companies that do discount for it usually cahrge more and the discount is something stupid like £10. But id rather know that im a safer driver and a better driver than most other people. Plus it would generally save you more money because they teach you to drive conservatively getting the best progress without the need to use lots of fuel up. And my next car is gonna be a performance car. At moment im looking at getting for a weekend track type car a 200SX. Sounds like fun to me rear wheel drive and after a little fettling 300bhp. Fun cars if you like going sideways anyway. Which is why im after it wanna have a fun car. But keep my C4 for my commuting.

Yeah thats when i was doing the 360's lol. Just went to the industrial estate across from my friends how just a massive open area so we took a few cars down had a play in them. We tried to get our mates dad to bring the BMW down he didnt. But not because he didnt want to lol.
-
Gonna go have a look at that Max Driver thing 25% off sounds good though.
-
I agree with that. Once i got a bit more money i plan to join the IAM but its £85 to join and with my own apartment and running the car i really dont have that much spare cash floating around when im also at uni. BUt as soon as i get some spare cash i want to join the IAM. Was also thinking about getting some track lessons etc.

Ouch i nearly had a believe it or not a white transit go into the side of me. I was going round a roundabout and he decided he wasnt gonna stop at the red light and just about went smacking into the side of me. Luckily the next lane was free and i swerved out the way fshtailed a bit and then slowed down when i could. ***oops*** me up big time though missed him by inches. And some other guy decided to just come out from a junction right in front of me i was doing 30 comes out about 6 foot ahead of me swerved round him and the cheeky ***oops*** had the nerve to beep at me!!
-
i've done some of the crazy ***oops*** before. 360 spins j turns flipflops etc but was all done on the insudtrial estate the C4 is really rather smooth even when your going for a 360 spin lol. The only reason i actually did it was cause my mate wanted to try it in his car and i thoguth sod it im getting in there first.
-
Not tried the BP stuff yet when optimax is only 91p a litre the ultimate is a bit more. and theres no tesco doing 99 round here for me to try so i just used optimax since the garage was closeby. But cheapo stuff deffinately makes a difference. On my old Clio it didnt matter was happy running on cheap stuff the C4 isnt.

Seen this site before i want this bus! http://videos.streetfire.net/search/bus/0/...7C0C21A1762.htm

To stop the cutting you could pull the black insert off a VTS citroen do sell them as well i know the whole kit front bumper, rear bumper etc from the main dealers is only around £300 so i cant see it being much to just get that single bit of plastic. Then have the exhaust matched to that. Lowering is cheap im just trying to find out if coilovers off a 307 would go on admittedly isnt so cheap however be a bit better than just sticking some springs on. Plus a 65mm drop sounds tasty lol. Otherwise there are some 20mm springs and 40mm springs available i think.

I got loads of judder problems the other day i have come to the comclusion when i change fuels my car hates it. i was desperate for fuel other day light had been on for around 20 miles so just pulled in at nearest station usually put optimax in just put tescos stuff in made a HUGE difference. No difference power wise just the smoothness the car didnt feel anywhere near as nice to drive. Even my mate commented on it unless i pulled away with at least 2000+ rpm on the clock it juddered to hell. Only thing different to normal was the fuel. Back to optimax again and feels loads better again.
