23 with the fan on halfway isnt that hot to be honest. But that was just heating the cabin up a bit normally half it set at HI when i first get in and crank the fan all the way up to the 8th setting and sit like that till my eyes start drying out then knock it back to 23 and half the fan on setting 2 open window for a few seconds and then sorted perfect temp lol. Its just freezing when i get in it at the moment so i do anything to get it warm lol. can quite often see me driving through manchester with my jacket covering my fingers cause that leather steering wheel gets bloody cold at times. And for grumble i tried to record a sound file. What happened was i got some nice mids and treble then the bass kicked in and then the recording went PFFFFFT PFFFFFFT PFFFFFFT when the sub kicked in. Just wasnt happening. But i did use the remote control for the headunit today got outside the car at my parents and cranked it up while i was outside wanted to see how loud it is to other people. No wonder i get looks off people! fk me its loud! Then again around 1000W RMS going through those speakers. Its not gonna be quite.

Hope your happy with your purchase and you have got an ok one. And welcome to the forums.

No no ipod adaptor dont like ipods i bought a zen xtra had better sound quality just didnt look as pretty or was as small. But i was more concerned about how it sounded. And nesh? Install sounds great though had the gorillaz on earlier and can tell the sub is breaking in now just seems more responsive and not just a thump anymore at times can actually tell the notes on the bass guitars etc sounds lovely. And new fuses i put in seem to be doing better not blown one yet even when i have been driving the sub really hard. Can turn it up without a problem now.

ahh see on bottom right VTR+ gets menu mode esc etc for changing car settings. And changing the central display to radio, cdinfo, mpg info etc think we also get a different central screen do we not? I know theres 3 screen types one like mine andother one and then the sat nav type one. And bottom left steering is the dimmer for the internal lights recirculation for the climate control etc. And i dont think i have a microphone that could handle the power put out by the system. But will have a look see if i can get a sample. But yeah the system has over 1000w RMS But if we go on advertised figures for the amps the big numbers. Its closer to 4000w. Its loud but it sounds nice its not like when you hear the chavs driving down the street and all you can hear is the sub thumping. Its nicely balanced and you can only hear the sub play a major part when you really crank the volume up the rest of the time its in the background just adding to the sound. Just makes it much richer but when you play some korn or something which has a lot of bass guitar in it. It sounds awesome! C4 really does have a fairly big boot though. I can still get a suitcase etc in there and the weekly shop without a problem.

Ahh trust citroen to change the specs on the C3 yet again. The multi function computer is even on the base model now. Was on the 1.1 desire i was driving the other week anyways. But you could always try german swedish and french car parts. http://www.gsfcarparts.com/

Here ya go just for the sake of showing it my boot install. http://mybigspoon.com/wozza/install1.JPG http://mybigspoon.com/wozza/install2.JPG And the foldout boot partition still works perfectly as well lol. The sub has a few cm between it and the divider. http://mybigspoon.com/wozza/dash.JPG

Thats an odd one :/ Kinda of a shame see all the sections of my steering wheel have buttons. But yeah system is sorted now pretty much will get a picture up of it in a little bit. I did blow yet another fuse last night though was a 60AMP one this time since turned the sub down again. Seems to be fine now just went for a 30 mile drive and had it at normal listening volume and a bit higher hasnt blown even when i was playing things such as the prodigy and korn it seemed to cope pretty well when the low notes came on. Was funny going into halfords and told them i just blew the fuse in my car hes like so put a bigger one in if this is the 2nd time its gone so i said alright then its got a 60AMP in there now what you got thats bigger....At this point he said nothing. And wanted to know the details of the system and see it. We came to the conclusion that im perhaps drawing slightly too much power from the standard battery. So i may need to upgrade that next. But to be honest i replaced the fuse turned down the sub and it seems to be coping rather well now i dont get any of my interior lights dimming no more anyways. My rev counter etc was dimming when the low bass notes came through but seems perfect now and sounds better.

The end of the steering stalk on the right hand side very end should be a button on there then look just where the speedo is should change the display to what you want eg, average consumption average speed etc.
-
So theres no menu or escape buttons etc? ..I thought that was on all of them :S In your case then yes you would probably not be able to ccess wiper settings etc but how often do you actually change the settings? I set mine up the way i liked it and have not touched it since. I pretty much leave everything on auto. But i suppose if you swap the stuff around its only a 5 minute job to swap the headunit back in and change it all.
-
They are supposed to be very good but if you want a headunit style one. Which do retail at around £900 for the 7" touch screen headunits. With it built in. There not too hard to put in. Just a bmw aerial connector and a bmw iso connecter and then changing a couple of the wires on the connector around. All that had to be done on mine it just took them a while as mine is the first C4 they have ever put anything in. So was lot of checking with the multimeter to make sure was all perfect etc. And i can say it is.
-
you could always get an amp which has high level inputs. then you would be able to run it from your main speakers. Otherwise your gonna need to upgrade your headunit to one that has pre outs on it. Which would probably be a good idea as the sound quality difference between them is massive. I couldnt go back to using the stock headunit n myC4 now it just sounds awful in comparison to my alpine unit.
-
There not bad but the build quality on the C3 is a little behind even citroen know this hence why the C4 and C6 are absolutely miles ahead in build quality. C4 in reviews has been said to be approaching german build quality. Which says a lot really. And the funny thing my rattles have now completely dissapeared since the guys took my door panels off at the audio centre and took my dash apart. The car is now brilliant to be in. No rattles at all. And its taken the citroen dealer 5 days to try get rid of them it took the guys at the audio centre 3 hours.
-
After driving a C3 recently i kinda have to agree. Its hard to believe they build the C3 and C2 etc. When you get in a C4 its so much different its not all cheap plastic and rattly bits. But the VRS would wipe the floor with the citroen its meant to be a diesel hot hatch the C3 1.4 was never meant to be that.

Can be accessed with the teering wheel controls at the bottom right. And the diagnostic can be run by pressing the button next to the speedo. Everything still works fine. I just leave my central screen displaying my petrol consumption figures though. Which seems to be going up now. Getting 32 - 33mpg around town now rather than 26 - 29mpg. Think the engine is starting to loosen up a lot more. Car also feels like its got a bit more power too. My system work again. Although been adjusted slightly sub has been turned down on the amp and speakers have all been turned up. Just both fuses on my sub amp decided to go they werent good enough for the job so put some larger ones in. Working brilliantly now. Unless if playing it loud for a while then it likes to just stop working for a few seconds but its really loud not comfortable to listen to so who gives a crap lol.

Got an alpine in my own car nice choice. Gotta love the alpine units just a shame 1 of my amps which drives my sub went into protection mode tonight. Back to the audio shop tomorrow to get it sorted. But while it worked My god 600watts of RMS through an RE sub is to put it bluntly fucking overkill. My mate actually asked me to turn it down as it was physically hurting him with the vibrations. Admittedly it was a little too loud but my god its cool! And the display adaptors usually wont show anything up on the screen no point putting the information on 2 screens anyways.
-
No as they can still be accessed from the steering wheel. Only thing you loose is the radio info on the main screen but you dont really need it there and on the headunit do ya? Got my system fitted today sounded awesome then on my way home my sub amp has decided it wants to go into protection mode and also my new components sound worse than the ones i had in as stock so i want it sorting tomorrow.
-
Took delivery of that sub today my god is it heavy! I was sat there thinking cheeky ***oops*** delivery guy when he just dropped it off leaving it just at the door downstairs in the lobby. I went to pick it up and frick me. I have a funny feeling my rear suspension is gonna be lower after its fitted tomorrow.

typical really you get a problem as soon as you get to the dealer it goes away. Next time i have a problem im just gonna threaten my car with a trip to the dealer see if it fixes it lol. Bet your brother is glad to have his own car again.
-
A lot fo the normal style speeds typically are around 10% out. My clio was the same. The C4 matches the gps almost perfectly though.
-
Thats an odd one you got there mate. Did the economy mode shut it down?

Must just be those digital dials i knew they were more accurate but not that much. Just reminded me of when i went to scotland the other week. There was a section of the motorway with roadworks on 50 limit set my cruise control to 50 then those laser pointer things said slow down so i knocked it down to 48 to be safe. next minute guy goes past me around 100 mph to see 1 camera go off as he slams his breaks on and then goes through another one and triggers it. Just made me think ha. I was quite happy sitting doing my 48mph knowing nothing was gonna happen i didnt need to brake or touch anything except the wheel. I just dont see the point in speeding up to then slam the brakes on. Just eating away at the brakes more when they dont need to be used and your not getting anywhere any faster. When its safe to do so though cant say i dont speed i have had the car flat out once to see what it was capable of. But wouldnt drive like that constantly usually keep to 70 - 90 on the motorway. Althoguh have looked down to see it reading over 100 and i wasnt even aware i was going that fast i was keeping up with the traffic.
-
Yeah reading is pretty much perfect compared to my sat nav as well sometimes out by 1mph but nothing really. But yeah some guy gave me a right load of abuse as he passed me today while i had the speed limiter set at 30mph in a 30 zone went flying past me just to then hit the red light and have to slam on his brakes. I bet he felt oh so much better than me for getting to that red light faster.

Just ordered my nice new sub now awaiting delivery of one of these bad boys. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...cedee0c7ea82b98 Also got the Alpine MRV-T420 to power my front components. Subs getting powered by the Alpine MRD-M605 Couldnt really afford to get brilliant amps as well as everything else so gonna keep this until the summer than i will think about selling them on and buying something better. Front components not settled on yet depends what happens when i go into the shop and how much money i end up spending.
-
When i take mine back in to the car audio centre in a few days i can ask them exactly what they did. The adaptors wont be out for a few months though i sent alpine an email asking when they will have a steering wheel remote adaptor ready they said 6 - 12 months. its still in development :/ everywhere i asked about adaptors i got the same answer cars too new and wiring system to complex no one makes anything for them.
-
You need a bmw aerial adaptor, and bmw iso adaptor then the fun starts. You basically have to chop half the wires and change them about to get it in. Honestly worth just taking somewhere and asking them to do it as it took 2 guys at my local audio place an hour to do mine. Cant really show you without ripping it apart again. I do have my components amps and sub going in there though when they get delivered. But having someone install the components cause well i dont fancy taking that dash apart. And since there getting amped anyways just told him to install the rest for me as well. Normaly would have done it myself but the reason i got them to fit it was because we werent sure how it was gonna be with the multiplex wiring heard of issue so had it running at the back of the shop for an hour to make sure so i could have got refunded had it all gone wrong.
