Good to hear you've completed without any agro. What electrics have you done?
-
Many thanks for reporting back. Your findings about needing the car lifting high bears out what others have said. So finally are the brakes operating correctly now?

Airbag Light On Citroen Relay 2.2 Hdi 05 Reg
Johndouglas replied to Discoduck's topic in Relay - Technical
Check the connector under the seat. -
There are several offers of Chinese cloned Lexia kits on ebay. Some appear to be better than others - even reports of some not working on C5 cars. Although I have no first hand experience of the company, this one always gets good reports. As an owner of a C5-X7 you should take a look at this topic. If you have recently purchased from a dealer, I would make it a priority to check the steering rack for fluid leaks. Several members of models dating from 2008 through to 2009 have reported having leaking racks.

Yes - I agree, it looks cheap and nasty. Especially if you like it nice and tidy under the bonnet. What looks like a hard plastic cover is on the Citroen parts diagram with a part number 0137F9.

Pivot the mirror inwards as far as it will go along the top edge. Use a flat bladed tool between the lower edge and the mirror housing to release the retaining clip.

From what I remember it's only necessary to remove the rubber hanger on the rear box whilst you loosely fit the side arm. I don't know what make of tow bar you have but they are all fairly similar. See the Witter fitting instructions here. If you are going to tow anything other than a light-weight trailer it might be a good idea to invest in a new set of bolts.

Suspension Pump Replacement And Advice
Johndouglas replied to djdaz116's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Hello Darren. It's better just to have the one post on a problem - it helps keep all the replies under the one roof, so I've deleted your repeat post in another section. Hopefully Steve or Paul will be along shortly who may be able to help you. -
Here's how:- Know where you have your picture before you begin. Probably your picture library. Click within the box at "Reply to this topic" Go to bottom right and click "More reply options." When the new box appears type in your reply then in the "Attach Files" section, click on "Browse" Find the file where you have your picture. Click on it and find the picture file. Open it then click on "Attach this file." Note the limit on size. If it's too big it won't upload but you can resize it first.

Yes the inner cables are the same. The left and right guide tubes are different
-
Did you have the slots aligned with the pegs on the backs of the pads? The outer cable shouldn't be fixed to the grommet on the guide tube. The hand brake lever should release on it's own without any help. Sounds as though the cable is binding on the guide tube. If you can withdraw the cables from the guide tubes by using some lubricant you may get away with just renewing the cables. Usually the cables won't pull out. You will have realized that the two cables and tubes are handed.

The light unit in the rear wing is a one piece housing containing a double filament bulb for stop and side lamps and the direction indicator. The part number is 6351FA. Your only hope at 2nd hand will be a breaker. -
Citroen Xsara Picasso 2006 1.6 Hdi - Power Steering Issue
Johndouglas replied to Eiteews's topic in Technical Section
Have you checked the strut bearings that Steve mentioned last week? -
Apparently Citroen is working on an all-new suspension system to replace the hydropnuematic suspension of the past 60 years. Read about it here

Besides being recorded on the milometer, the number of miles is also recorded in the car's ecu. When you match one against the other, the highest mileage is shown on both units. Mileage correction is your only way to correct it.

The arm is attached to a tapered, splined shaft. Sometimes it needs a little persuasion to move. Try a bit of leverage with a broad screwdriver (without levering against the glass) . Make sure it replaces in the same position.

The one I have is a 2013 version bought off ebay for around 35 quid which no doubt is a pirated copy. I must say I'm not a great fan of the onboard satnav. I much prefer to use my old Tomtom Classic.
-
Yes! The part numbers I quoted are for the C5-X7.

No idea of price but a call to a Citroen dealer for part number 7009 N8 would get you it. If it's the right side it's part number 7010 X0. It's held on with clips 9341 PF and they have them on ebay....http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-PEUGEOT-CITROEN-DOOR-INTERIOR-TRIM-PANEL-FIXING-CLIPS-x-10-9341PF-/361564892644?hash=item542ef26de4:g:3LgAAOSwrnNXPyoW Is your original moulding not saveable? I pulled mine off my previous Mk2 but by using a bit of glue, abrasive paper and matt black spray I was able to refit it.

Hello & welcome to the forum. So you have the same engine as is in the Peugeot J5 van and the Talbot Express. All of them have a weakness in the head gasket department especially when flushing and a change of anti-freeze is not carried out every two years. Fortunately full gasket kits are readily available.

To get rid of the smell you could sprinkle a layer of baking soda over the stained area and leave it over-night before vacuuming it up. Then put some vinegar in a discarded spray bottle and spray the area.
