  1. On the older 1.6HDIs the screws holding the injectors tended to stretch in use, thus loosening the injector and allowing it to leak. You could try a 7mm allen key on them and see if they tighten - but not too much. Loosen the bolt, tighten to 4Nm+65degrees. The new seals and washers are not very expensive and one could be done within the hour. Worst part is cleaning off the deposit.
  2. There are adjustment screws on each headlamp unit but they are only for use if the direction of the two beams don't match. If your headlights align correctly just turn the manual adjustment wheel to a position you're happy with. My own car when empty needs the adjustment wheel turned away from the -0- setting because I have heavy duty rear springs on the vehicle which raises the rear end and so lowers the headlight beam.
  3. Or from around the injectors themselves. If so, the injector needs to be removed, the seat cleaned up and a new seal put in. It's a common problem on the 1.6 engine.
  4. There are two Citroen dealers in Valencia and they will have direct replacements. Or you might see a Citroen in a scrapyard.
  5. That's good. Providing you can still get the gear easily, it should be OK. Should you want to replace it in the future, the Citroen part number is 7592-XX. (The -XX is an extra two digits depending on colour of the original.
  6. No it was a Mk2 with xenons. My car spends four months of every year on the Continent so I was concerned when I got it in 2005 about using beam bender masks. Citroen UK told me that I didn't need to modify xenon lights. Even with a loaded car and a caravan on the rear end, the headlights were still level. Yes! the self levelling suspension should maintain the level but not if the height corrector is slightly out of position.
  7. Haven't you got a manual adjuster on the left handside of the steering column. It might be a knurled roller with a white marker on it?
  8. Just had a look at my C5 which is 2010 model. Use an electrician's screwdriver and go down on the outside of the chrome surround about 12mm from a corner. Push inwards towards the gear stick. Each side is held by four spring clips. Lever up each clip in turn, working your way around.
  9. I believe the gaiter is held by a big spring clip. Try prising from the centre of each side.
  10. My previous C5 was an Exclusive and in nine years of driving, never had trouble with the headlamps causing dazzle - even when driving on Continental roads. Is your car sitting at the correct height? Obviously if the rear end was lower than prescribed, the beams would be wrong.
  11. There are several companies that make cleaners. Fortes usually make reliable products. Another is JLM particulate cleaner, but most companies add that the cleaner doesn't always work. Incidentally most mechanics can remove a particle filter in less than an hour.
  12. Hello & welcome. May I suggest that you post your question about your Picasso on this section of the forum. Begin by clicking on forums. Then click on Citroen C4. Click again on Technical then over on the right side of the page click Start New Topic. By posting your question on your profile page it's unlikely to be seen.
  13. And even that disappears if you happen to run up against a hill.
  14. Sorry - I haven't a clue. It can't be what I think it means because some topics are marked "hot" when they haven't had a response for several months.
  15. Sounds as though your filter needs changing - or at least cleaning. Some DIY mechanics take the filter off the car, give it an overnight soak in an alkaline solution then jet wash it until the water runs clear. Allow it to dry then refit.

  17. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/for-Citroen-Xsara-N1-N2-1997-2005-Interior-Heater-Blower-Motor-Fan-6441N4-/231545110156?hash=item35e929fe8c They've come down considerably since I fitted mine...
  18. Not all the early C5s had DMFs. Very likely yours is one of them. Unless you are going to attempt to replace the clutch yourself, I would not go buying the parts. If you are not doing it yourself - and it's a difficult job, requiring specialist tools - have your car looked at by a garage and let them have the responsibility of getting the correct kit.
  19. It's around 30 quid a litre. See this:- http://www.pcsparts.co.uk/Web%20Pages/Eolys_awareness.pdf................. But you should get the fault codes looked at before buying anything.
  20. I think you ought to stop gazing at your fuel gauge. They're not very reliable at the best of times. For the first 100 miles on the Cit.BX that I used to drive, the fuel gauge hardly moved, then over the rest of the scale, it moved quickly. You should brim the tank, make a note of the mileage, drive for 300 miles, brim the tank again, then divide the miles by the fuel bought. Incidentally, my daughter drives a 1.6 C4 and after driving a 2ltr Xsara for 12 years, her comment was that she hardly ever puts fuel in it.
  21. Hello & welcome to the forum.
  22. Maybe the Eolys tank is empty. But without a Lexia you're just groping in the dark.
  23. Not even when the engine is running?
  24. No - 29 mpg average isn't normal. But over how many miles? Maybe you didn't give it a long enough test. Cold starts, a lot of intermediate gear driving and a heavy right foot can all add to poor consumption figures. Incidentally, if your car has only done 62K miles, why did it need the Eolys fluid topping up?
