Sounds like a servo problem to me too. Vacuum pipe disconnected accidentally?

F4 100 amp boitier commutation protection 2 relais (relays ?) (Changeover box protection -2 relays) (not sure what's changed over though!) F5 30 amp boitier servitude remorque (Box for trailer connection) Re: F8 Bruleur usually means boiler ?? -
With CIS again this year. Their renewal was about £58 more than last year @ £353.46. Tried Saga, £437. LV wanted £470 then I went back to CIS and said I'll only be doing around 10K miles this year - not 12K and they knocked about £19 off. New premium £334.19. This is for Fully Comp, European cover for up to 90 days per trip, full UK and continental breakdown, enhanced courtesy car, protected NCD and legal assistance (voluntary excess £150).

"Also if the weather was bad it would suffer since going into a strong wind knocks the mpg down." This is particularly true. On one 600 mile journey, at 70mph on cruise control, for the first c.100 miles into a strong headwind I was doing 47mpg. After Rouen the wind turned and dropped and I recorded 59mpg for the whole journey. (I always get about 4% better mpg on French roads for some reason!)
-
...Also, on 2005 - 2008 models, cruise control works on 4th and 5th gear only, very annoying in the proliferating 20mph zones!. (Not sure how it works with an automatic gearbox.)

2004 C5 Central Locking Problem When Car In Eco Mode
MikeLane replied to tom_fun's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
I reckon there's a suspect cell in the battery. It looks OK with no load and "switched off" but when systems are activated by opening doors the voltage drops. It might be worth checking the voltage with doors unlocked and lights on. A "good" battery should still read over 12 volts. As Paul says "unhealthy" batteries seem to give random errors. I currently have a problem with the driver's door not unlocking after standing over night, with the "plip" - all the others do. As it always opens after driving around I think the solenoid is sticking a bit and needs a fully charged battery to operate so, sooooon(!), I'll take the door panel off to check. -
"From posts 2 and 8 the belt change is 160k miles or 10 years if sooner" If the belt went at, say, 150K or 9.5 years do you reckon Citroen would replace it (or the engine!) for free? Also I remember a post concerning a valve timing problem. could this be a stretched chain jumping a tooth or two?

Don't disregard the models below the Exclusive because they ride on steel springs. Having ridden on "proper suspension " ever since my first BX in 1990, it was a concern when I considered getting a VTR+. Having owned one now for 18 months, I never think about the suspension. Even when towing my caravan is fine now since I changed the rear springs to MAD uprated springs. Thanks for that Paul. I'll have to see whether I can find one to try.

"Does anybody know the cambelt service intervals on the MK3 2.0 hdi 2008 on?" Have a look at this: http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30510&start=30 The handbook for my 1.6HDi says at 125K mikes but I changed it at 90K - just in case - with a full service (including changing anti-freeze and a new water pump etc. It cost £490 (including over £80 VAT!!!)
-
Been thinking about replacing my 2005 C5 1.6HDi for some time. The only REAL replacement is the Tourer since the saloon has no hatch and I quite often carry so much stuff that I have to take the internal "lid" out. And the only new C5 with "proper suspension" is the exclusive. However, it looks as though the X7 isn't going to be around for much longer and, from this forum, it seems much less reliable than my Mk.2 (facelift) - despite what everyone else says about the 1.6HDi engine - so I guess I'll just have to hang on to it! (MOT due in March!!!)

Re: Wiper problems, there is a pinned topic which might help here: http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/22587-c5-08-x7-wiper-motor/ -
I've found that the biggest reduction in mpg occurs if I use the aircon and recently, with a damp car, I've needed to frequently demist. Consumption increases by about 10 - 12%.

Hi all you owners of 2CVs. A bit of bad news I'm afraid. The French government has decided that 2CVs are too polluting to drive in Paris (and probably some other towns and cities) from May or June 2016!!
-
Great car! Bought one for my parents in 1985 and they loved it. Bad News though - you won't be allowed to drive it in Paris after May or June as it's "Trop polluante"!
-
Does this model use EOLYS fluid? If so it could be low/empty after this mileage. Anyway a code reader will tell you.
-
Almost definitely a clutch problem.
-
The ISP you are using in Sri Lanka attaches a "country of origin" tag when you log in as do all ISPs, so Citroen (like the BBC and other organisations) knows where you are and filters accordingly. You may be able to start again from Sri Lanka with service.citroen - new ID and login details - but I wouldn't bank on it! Also your device probably tags outgoing messages.
-
Yes you're right. It was available on some 2.2 and 3l. models but not 1.6. Sorry

Did you put the correct suspension spheres on front and rear axles? The pressures are different. Also there are regulator spheres front and back - these have different pressures form each other and the suspension spheres. The problem could also be a jammed or damaged height adjuster. (DON'T try checking/testing this unless the rear of the car is on axle stands!)
-
Thanks Paul. I'll have a shufty and let you know. (Just dug out my old grease gun and pumped some axle grease into the narrow gap between the windscreen and groove in the scuttle - just in case that's the problem.)
-
Blast! After all the rain the passenger side has water under the carpet! Can't be from the sunroof as it's still taped. The water appears to be running down under the carpet on the passenger side of the consol. Checked the scuttle drains and both sides are clear so.....! I seem to remember something about the fresh air inlet to the heater matrix??? (Tip: buy something in Waitrose and get a free Weekend Telegraph for loads of newspaper - about all it's good for!)

No Mike the pump goes into the block with the cambelt driving the pulley marked with red paint. Thanks for the info John (one learns something every day!).
