Hi Kev, Just though I'd drop you a PM to let you know the following. I have been messing about with pulling away, turning etc and have found the following concerning the suspension: 1)When Pulling away gently, all is well until the steering is turned. 2)Pulling away quick causes the noise 3)Turning quick causes the noise 4)Steering quickly whilst stationary does not cause the noise. 5)Steering quickly whilst trying to move the car against the hand brake (to get the front to rise) does not cause the noise. (Seems the wheels have to be turning) 6) Seems to occur more often when turning right after pulling away. I was beginning to wonder if this is more a power steering issue, but I cant work out why it only happens just after pulling away??? Anyway, this may mean something more to you then me??? Cheers, Mike. Sorry this posted in here, for some reason I dont seem to be able to send any PM's!!!

The wiper arm or the blade??? I cant see how the arm could shear in half, unless it had been damaged somehow, but then you should have noticed a damaged wiper arm anyway. It can happen to any car. I know you have a downer on the C4 and Citroen, but broken wipers can occur on any vehicle. Happened on my Dad's Rover, on a coach I was on once... You should consider yourself lucky that if your car is unusable, you can get another one. Most of us arn't so lucky.

Air con does 'leak'. It is just condensate that is being released. Id question the fact that it is a rainbow coloured though... have you actually looked at the liquid properly, what colour is it???
-
Got a feeling the C4 has electronic Power Steering, I was looking for a power steering fluid reservoir the other day and could not find one, nor any mention of it in the handbook. What colour is the fluid??? Sounds stupid, but have you tasted it/touched it/smelled it???

Check this out, them Falken tyres on Falkens site... http://www.falkentyres.co.uk/product.asp?n...46&P_ID=296 £64.31 each!!! How you getting on with these C4VTS???
-
You git, I thought you'd really done it with a title like that!!! You need to know the PCD and Offset of the C4 Alloys before you can try matching them up on your own.
-
They dont have a hole for the hub in them??? I cant remember what they look like under the hub cover, was a while ago that I took them off.
-
How are you finding the Falkens??? I think these Michelins are ok in the dry, but flamin useless in the wet!!! Did you get them from that website??? Tyre's for this car seem pretty expensive. I need 2 front ones soon. DOH!!
-
For christ sake!!! How did he manage that??? Bit of T-Cut it'll be dandy!!!

I find it really easy to park, I mean, you back up til the car behind moves, then you drive forward til the car infront moves, then your in!!!

My ongoing suspicion of a front suspension issue has now gone even furthur. My car has always suffere with a knock coming from (what I believe) is the front passenger side suspension. The car then started making a noise when pulling off, but only for the first time. Its a graunchy noise and only happens as I say when pulling away if its been left for a while, as the front of the car lifts up. Now, this noise has been getting worse, it does it for longer now, it used to be as the nose started coming up, now its there until the nose starts settling down again. Once its done it once, it doesn't do it again. Now however, something else has happened. When I am driving round bends, if the front passenger wheel goes down a hole of finds a bit of rough surface, the wheel jsut comes alive and 'squirms' in my hands. It can be rather un-nerving. It also does it if I go over cats eyes at speed, anything that rapidly unsettles the front wheels. Im staring to think maybe the dampers are to blame. Does anyone have any experiance of this, from the C$ or any other cars???

A little while ago there was some dodgy geezer selling 'Turbos'... It was basically a computer fan type affair in some plastic tubing. I really hope he didn't sell any.

They do work. They just make the engine drive round thinking its getting really dense, cold air in, so it dumps loads of fuel in. In that sense, you do get a performance increase, but you also get an engine operating outside of the way its intended to run, and fuel consumption goes up. They do damage engines. As has been set, its just a Potentiometer. This is a step up from the old mod, which just involved replacing the sensor with a set resistor. Again, in this sense, this new one is better value for money, because a resistor costs about 10p and they were still charging £5 for it. One for the Nova/Saxo brigade I feel!!!

The 2 Litre petrol isnt listed. Shame, a bit more oomph would have been nice.
-
Could we get a list from Angel of the different engines and the power they can get from them??? Id be interested to see what my car would get from a remap.

I must admit, well built though it was, the Sharans interior was a dull as watching paint dry. I did like the funky electric blue and red interior lighting though.

I know they are expensive to run and ultimately, I would never buy a VW, not really my 'thing', but I cant get over that engine. It just pulled like a train, felt quite, refind and smooth. The car was actually a full second to 60 slower then my own, but it was so easy to drive. I know you can get loads of power from them also, a mate did it with an A3, that had 150,000 miles on it when he bought it, and it was still as good as the day it was built.

I just drove today a VW Sharan. Not the sportiest of drives I grant you, but the engine and gearbox!!! It is one of our company cars and it has a 2.0 Litre TDI engine with 140BHP and a 6 speed manual shift, and it is just amazing. The engine just pulls so strongly all the way up the rev range, I could wheel spin it on the move in 2nd and 3rd (granted, the roads are slippery) and the gear shift is so slick and precise and short. THIS IS A PEOPLE CARRIER!!! Its really well built to, no rattles or anything. All the controls feel solid and everything was just a pleasure to use. The brakes were really powerful to, and progressive, the clutch was smooth with a very low, widespred biting point, making smooth gearchanges a doddle. I tell you, you could easily lose your license in that thing, its so quiet and smooth. Absolutley lovely car. My only criticism is the steering is just unbelievably light. The wheel is nice, chunky and soft, it kind of moulds to the hands. Other then that, well, im really smitten with that engine and gearbox... I want one, a Golf or EOS would be nice!!!

It will show the belt as being undone, bt then once you drive off again, it will cancel. Im sure it does beep if you continue to drive along and someone removes they're belt.

Im 23, 4yrs NCB, live in an OKish area. My job title says I'm a technician and last year I paid £750 My insurance has been with Zurich and this includes European breakdown recovery (because I drive to France quite a lot and last year drove to Spain), Windscreen replaced FOC, locks replaced FOC if they break, Legal Costs covered, courtesy car if I need one, all stuff like that. Its part of they're Car Solutions packages.

I have on '05' car and I think the interior is ok. Under the dash, in the footwells etc, the plastics are appauling, but on top, where it counts, they are fine. The armrest I have is not lether, but it dont look too cheap. The worst part about the 'rest is in the summer, when it just slides forward and backward of its own free will!!! The car is generally quite well built. I have rattles from the doors and the drivers side B pillar. The doors I know you can fix, but my problem is Ive put so much sound proofing in them now, that I dont think they would touch them under warrenty.

It did definately used to come on all the time at high speed, im sure. I know this because whenm I had my air con leaking into the footwell, I always had to clear the screen and that was leaking for months. There is no way I would have had the temp set that high in August/september time. General consensus though, is that it is meant to come on at a speed less then full, right??? -
