You can use both. Im not sure if the 1.6 has knock sensor to alter the timing. If it doesnt, you wont see any benefit. If it does, you probably still wont because its a reletively small engine. Its generally only high performance engines that get any benefits power wise. Of course, it will help keep the engine in a better condition due to the extra cleaners and additives. If I were you, Id just fill up with a good quality normal fuel, and maybe use a higher octane one once a month to clean the engine up a little. Ive tried V-Power in my 2 litre and it made it run a bit smoother, but I cant say I got any benefits out of it powerwise or economywise.

Thanks for the heads up on the exhaust. Thats very interesting. As for the difference between 138 and 180, probably mapping, engine internals, timing etc. It probably isnt easy.

I have the same model C4 as you. When you blip the throttle, is there a raspy blowy noise coming from your exhaust from underneath the car. Mine makes this noise from the middle of the vehicle. It not a hole, Ive checked, but it is a very strange noise. As for induction kits, unless you install them properly, they can lose you power due to heat soak. I think there are some mapping possibilities. There was a thread started on it a little while ago.

Yeah!!! I have looked at it before, but didnt really look at it very thouroughly.

Your right. Id forgotten about that. I had read about it in the book when I first got it. I suppose 3 mins is good enough. Cant exactly do the travelling of the stars though!!!

Thats the problem with my camera. Its a good camera (Sony DSC-R1), but the maximum time the shutter will stay open for is 30 seconds. Its a bit annoying really. Where was that picture taken???

Ive just had a good look through the service book, and it is every 2 years or 20,000 miles which ever comes first (for a petrol). This is good, Ive just saved £300!!! I may do an oil change though.

My car was registered in April 05 and was registered to a Citroen Uk Head Office bod. Now, the bloke got rid of it in December with around 18,500 miles on the clock. It was serviced at this point also. I have the documentation to prove this. Now, I popped into my Citroen dealer the other day and asked him if I could book the car in for a service in December. I told him exactly what i have wrote above. He then told me the service would cost £302 all in, but I didnt need it for another year or 40,000 miles, which ever comes sooner. I was under the impression the service interval was 20,000 miles or 1 year, which ever comes first. He appears to be saying its 20,000 miles or every 2 years. Is this correct??? Im worried that if I dont have the service done and he is wrong, my warrenty will be invalidated.

Id agree with this point. It does seem that Citroen UK dont give a stuff about their customers. Even if the dealers do, it seems a lot of the time, their hands are tied by constrictions placed on them by Citroen UK. I cant understand why car companies continually fail to satisfy their customers expectations in terms of service. If they want to grow and take large chnuks of the market, they need new and returning customers. The likes of Lexus has got it absolutely right. A bloke at work has an IS200 (old model) is had to go in for warrenty work. The dealership collected the car from his home, took it away, worked on it, brought it back fully valeted, all the work was done and there was a bottle of champagne on the drivers seat and a bunch of flowers on the passengers seat for his wife. There was also a follow up call from the service manager to make sure the work and car were up to expected standards and an apology that the work was even required. I found that amazing. Now,. i know Citroen sell cheaper cars, but it would be nice that if you took your car to a dealership (the people who are meant to know about the vehicle) and asked them to fix a problem, they actually had the time and information available to them to fix it. But Citroen do not give the dealerships this luxery and thus, it is the customers that suffer, along with the dealers when they have to deal with wound up dissapointed customers. Citroen do themselves no favours and it is about time they understood this.

C3 Radio Replacement = Central Locking Fault
Mike5483 replied to nannynick's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
You cant really blame Citroen. If this is there way oif doing things then that is something that someone wanting to add an aftermarket stereo should find out and take into account. Nothing should be taken for granted when doing this sort of thing. The only time Citroen can be blamed is if there is a standard that they are not adhereing to and I cant see that this would be the case. -
How long did you leave the shutter open for on that pic??? Its very good by the way, the red and white are very vivid, whilst the back ground is very natural looking, a good contrast. I assume you got a good still night, as the trees dont appear to have moved much.

Oh, Ive seen that before. Its mint aint it!!! Imagine having a Traffic Light GP in that!!!

It was commonly known as the Rover V8. Buick developed a peach of an engine but didnt want to spend lots of money developing it. Rover bought the manufacturing rights and developed the engine into what is now known as the Rover V8. And it has been everything from a 3.5 litre, right upto a 4.6litre, fitted to luxery barges, off roaders, sports cars. Brilliant engine, larga capacity, light weight and endlessly tunable.

The back gets really dirty because of the design of the car. Its a very aerodynamic design and when the air hits the front of the car, one 'layer' of air clings to the car surface allowing all the other air to slide over it cleanly. However, when the air leaves the back of the car, it very quickly has nothing to slip over anymore and becaomes very turbulent and thus, dust particles in the air cling to the back of the car, rather then floating away. Thats the long winded answer!!!

Well there is no way I could even begin to think about running 2 cars, and I'm 23!!! The cheapest VX220 I can see on Autotrader is £10000, not an insubstantial amout of money by any means!!! To say Im jealous would be very true!!!

Some people have got too much money!!!

The K series engine is a fantastic unit. Lightweight, rev happy and powerful for its size even now. How many NA 1.4's develop 103BHP, not many if any at all. The 'Sandwich' design is now being copied by many Japanese car companies. If the K series is so crap, why did Lotus and Caterham use it??? Because for a sportscar, there was no other engine available that could offer the lightweight, compactness and performance of a K. It is also a well known fact, that used in these cars, the K suffered from far less HGF than wheb fitted in Rovers and MG's, mainly because it has less work to do and because it was modified before fitting. Dont velieve everything you hear on Watchdog!!!

Very Nice (for a Vauxhall)!!! Nah seriously, its a good looking motor. Wish I had that sort of money buring holes in my pockets!!!

Tell them you want your deposit back. That'll get them moving, the thought of losing money!!!

Mike5483 replied to Mike5483's topic in C4 - Technical
If you google for "Citroen C4 Can Bus adapter" loads come up from overseas suppliers, so why cant we get them here??? -
Well, its not really rattles. As it stands I have... Front suspension issues (it 'cracks' when pulling away to hard) Rear suspension issues (the rear 'groans' when loaded up or the weather is very dry, I think its bushes) Clutch issues (same as many others, it feels notchy and gritty after heavy use) Air Con leaks into passenger footwell when its cooling the car And a few other niggles. Nothing major, Well, the carpet is cause itll soon rot or go smelly.
