  1. S&S cars have up-rated batteries, heavy duty starter motors and several other heavy duty parts to deal with potential constant staring and stopping. A intersting fact many over look is the S&S system will not operate if you have the cabin fan/heater operating, air conditioning and other luxuries. Also, if the battery goes below I think 12V because the engine isn't running, it was automatically start the engine. Usually, the only time a fault become aparrent with the stop start is if it doesn't operate at all. Otherwise it is normal operating conditions
  2. Would be strange if no fault was coming onto the dash or when reverse is engaged. On C5's, the parking censors at the rear are especially exposed to the elements on the inside of the bumper, even worse if they are aftermarket parking sensors. I think your first step is to check the security of all connections to the parking sensors by squeezing yourself under the rear bumper. If you don't fancy that, either have your Citroen dealer carry out a diagnostic session or at least carry one out yourself. Usually, it's more likely to secure a first time fix from a dealer as using official Citroen technology, they can view live information regarding the parking sensors when driving. May seem like a strange question, but do your reverse lights work?
  3. Common fault. Replace microphone for bluetooth. 2013 vehicle still in warranty? There are several checks that can be done as it may also be a software update required. I would visit your Citroen dealer for this.
  4. Welcome to the forum. It defiantly has hee haw to do with the pollen filter LOL! Could be any number of things, best thing is to get the car plugged into a computer.
  5. I do hope the garage who fitted the EGR are having a look for free as they were the last to touch it! It's hard to say as one would jump straight to problems with the EGR as it was recently fiddled with. I wouldn't like to speculate without having the vehicle to hand to carry out a diagnostic session using a computer.
  6. As far as I know, you must upload your photo to a Image Hosting website such as Imgur or Flickr. From there, you can copy the Forum BBCode to here and the photo should show.
  7. Spare parts are plentiful for Citroen's. Any Citroen dealer will be able to help you, otherwise scroll through the internet and i'm sure you will find what you are looking for.
  8. I've never known a aftermarket speed limiter that can be changed on the fly, unless your C3 has cruise control which, in Citroen's, also has a speed limiter function. Sounds like you have a very, very aftermarket unit. Speed limiters that are hard wired into the BSI don't ever show up on the dash. Because they are usually fitted to commercial vehicles or cars owned by a company and the driver is simply made aware of the speed limiter. Test your speed limiter up to 70 MPH and see how you get on. If it limits the speed then you know you have a speed limiter! ...
  9. Remove the two vents either side of the radio unit, this will expose 4 or more screws. Remove these and the radio unit should slide out. As for fitting the sat nav unit, I can't say for sure if it is plug or play or may require intervention from a Citroen Dealer.
  10. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase of your C-Crosser. The C-Crosser is a fairly reliable beast and rarer than the Mitsubishi variant so a win win all round.
  11. Personally, i'd avoid owning any piloted manual gearbox from any manufacturer. Generally, they ruin the driving experience for me. The new C4 Picasso which is a lovely car to drive with a full Auto or manual is ruined with a piloted manual gearbox. In Ford's, it's simply to slightly modified wiper motors that change gear for you! Wiper motors aren't very good at being wiper motors never mind changing gears! As for S&S engines, I'd couldn't say for sure how many I seen. I'm familiar with them and know they exist.
  12. I used to work in a main dealer for Citroen UK and worked on very few C3 with the SensoDrive gearbox. Didn't sell well as, generally, the gearbox was horrific to drive. The full Auto gearbox was popular however.
  13. Anywhere that is selling them is usually a good start! :-)
  14. Generally, replace. Citroen's are good for their aerials diminishing in quality over the years.
  15. Welcome to the forum.
  16. This can be changed through the radio unit on all C5 models. Have a footer around and it should become obvious. I can't remember the exact process. Will be in the handbook, if you can't get it swing buy a Citroen dealer who would possibly do it for your free of charge.
  17. As Paul said, a spot of grease should help it out. Also, there is a switch on the clutch which can click when the pedal is depressed when it gets auld.
  18. Is your car fitted with one? A box is wired into the BSI and changes the programming, electronically limiting the vehicle to whatever is chosen.
  19. Thanks Paul. Always happy to help and will be happy to help as much as possible in the future.
  20. If you have an X7 C5, you can have the economy mode disabled completely using Citroen's own diagnostic program, but I don't believe this is for customers to utilise and wouldn't be advisable. If it is going into economy mode very quickly after shutting the vehicle down, check the battery and alternator. It may not be up to scratch which is why the ECU is being so tight. At low voltage, the ECU priorities one thing only, starting and nothing else.
  21. In my old Citroen dealer, Citroen only quoted the value of oil required as a minimum of what it is safe to run their vehicle on, basically the min mark of the dipstick. At a service, Citroen was underselling their oil by 1L every time and, despite every attempt to tell them, they didn't clock on. So if 500 services were done, they noticed 500L of oil was missing! A simple problem to fix, but not done yet. If the chart said C3 DV6 1.6 HDi, for example, the oil quantity was 3.75 but we would find ourselves putting in a good 4.5 +.
  22. No really my area of expertise. I've always worked in main dealers and repairing this kind of thing wasn't a thing, only ever replace them and reprogrammed them. Hopefully someone here can help you!
  23. Welcome, welcome. Hopefully we can be of assistance.
  24. I'm fairly sure the C5 MK1 2.0HDi dose have a DPF and if it was my choice it's the one I would buy. Big engines in big C5's are usually pretty special to drive. DPF shouldn't really be a problem if the vehicle is driven as a diesel should be, or at least a good kicking up and down a motorway every now and then should see them straight.
  25. I think the C3 Picasso's have drainage around the wiper motor under the scuttle panel. Two channels either side, tend to get clogged up and sometimes becomes apparent on the inside.
