DaveHerns Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Are the seats from an estate and saloon interchangeable ? Same question for Mk 1 and Mk 2 models ? Can I just bolt and plug them in or will the system require an update ?Reason for asking is that I fancy a set of black leather seats Quote
Johndouglas Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Can't see any reason why the front seats on an estate should be any difference to those in a saloon, but the rears are going to be quite different. Quote

DaveHerns Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Swap away just disconnect your battery and let the car stand a good while before reconecting the airbag wiringI thought I'd read hatchback and estate rear seats were interchangeable - suprising I know . The ones I'm after are from a h/back and mines an estate .No point bidding till I know Quote
sawingate Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I'm about to change cloth seats from a 2006 c5 Vtr saloon with leather seats from a Mk. 1 estate. I'm wondering how to connect all the extra wiring for the seat movement and heating the electric seats that wasn't in the cloth ones. Are there dummy connectors under my Vtr seats, which are only used for the exclusive model, or do I have to do done wiring myself? Quote
paul.h Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 If nobody comes back with an answer, you could look at the fuse list in your handbook, put in the relevant fuses (may be the G ones in the dash fusebox yellow section - these have a permanent live supply via maxi fuses) and then lift the carpets below the seats to check for the connectors and see if you get a supply. Also see if any connectors match the ones on your replacement seats. Quote
coastline taxis Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I think just think mind (would need to ckeck). Thi wiring is already there just add a maxi fuse and a relay and there up and running Quote
delart Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Hi I changed my cloth seats to leather 2003 HDI exclusive wiring was there just fitted a maxi fuse and good to go electric heated seats. Quote
sawingate Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I've got the electric seats now, but ran into problems fitting them. So far have only put in front passenger seat but cannot connect it as connector from original seat is a different type and the 2 additional connectors are not present under the carpet. I have all the male and female c5 v1 exclusive connectors (for the leather electric seats) from the breakers yard but don't know how to wire them up. Does anyone have a wiring diagram so I can wire up the old connector and chase the missing connectors to the fusebox? Many thanks for any help. Quote
sawingate Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I have the c5 Haynes manual but it doesn't cover the electric seats' wiring. The one connector I could for is for the airbag and seat belt pretentioner which has orange, earth, and 2 cream wires for the leather seats but the original connector has orange, earth, blue and yellow wires. I guess the orange and earth can be connected, but which way round do the blue and yellow wires go into the cream lead terminals ? Quote
coastline taxis Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 google for pid data on the model you want. next forget about the colours each wire has a number printed on it and by comparing the 2 pid list ( for the car they came out of to the car they are going into) youle ba able to match them by there numbers Quote
