Welcome to the forum, please try to ignore the spam that has started over the last few weeks. The multi plug may be the one at the suspension pump connection on the right inner wing under the LDS fluid tank. Wiring diagrams in the French RTA manuals for the C5 show maxi fuse MF8 for the pump at 40 amps. The maxi fuses should be in the engine fuse box below the top layer of fuses so this needs removing first (I have not done this so not sure how).

If you need to see the handbooks from other years of the new C5, these can be seen on the service.citroen website, click on Documentation de bord, then select language and click on the icon for the C5 and select the year of car. Only way to get in touch with the moderator(s) seems to be via a message from a link on the forum home page at the bottom through The Moderating Team , then select a moderator/admin and send a message. If you move your mouse cursor over the names of the current spammers it notes the no. of posts, adding these up seems to be about 10000 in the last week.

If this is for the 2004 to 2008 C5 model, the handbook gives fuel consumption for the 2.0i petrol automatic as urban/extra urban/combined 22.8/44.1/32.8 mpg and CO2 as 206 so car tax will be high. In comparison 2.0 hdi manual is 36.2/56.5/47.1 mpg and CO2 158 and auto 28.2/51.4/39.8 and 189 if you must have an automatic but on here people have reported problems. Petrol timing belt replacement is at 72k to 100k miles, diesel 108k to 160k miles, or 10 years for all engines.

Welcome to the forum. I would let the insurance company know if it is not standard on that model and they always seem to ask if there are any changes to standard. Then, if it increased the value that is gained in the event of a claim but more importantly, if you did not tell them and there was a claim they could refuse to pay out. It is not likely to increase the premium so better to be safe than sorry.

Sorry, still can not help but if you post this in the C5 pages (from home page, go down to current cars, C5 pages) there are some experts there. There is a lot of spam being posted on the forum and it is easy for your post to be lost and not noticed otherwise. I did do a search on the C5 pages and this fault code only seems to be mentioned once a few years ago and a solution then was not found or the poster did not come back. Also a google search seems to have covered most of the things you have changed on other makes of car.

Could all be a problem with the comms 2000 unit, the combined wiper/indicators/etc unit under the steering wheel - probably £200-300 fitted at a dealer and the last owner did not want to spend on a proper repair. I think the receiver for the key fob is in this unit also. May also additionally be a problem with the ignition switch although the quick loss of power that causes the clock to reset when starting has also occasionally happened on our C3 and C4 but also worth checking the car battery is 12.5 volts and not flat. Last owner may have also bodged the electrics to the clock. The Haynes C3 manual may apply to a lot of the car but I am not sure.

If you do not have the handbook it can be seen on the service.citroen site on documentation du bord and then select language. It only seems to show the 2 fastenings at the boot side and 2 lugs at the other side. Says to unclip the boot lid strut, undo the 2 fixings and then I guess you pull the lamp off a bit sideways. No mention of removing anything else. If the lights are a bit like the C3 ones, if there are any cracks in the lens water can get in. If this is ok then check the rear seals are ok. -

C5 Estate 2007 Diesel I.6 Lx Brake Bulbs Replacement

Copy of a reply to the same post on the New Member pages, so it appears under C5 pages. First time I removed the rear lights I struggled and made following notes in the Haynes manual for next time. ------------------------------------ The estate rear lower light section has to be removed, - prise out the lower plastic nut cover disc, use a thin walled deep/long 10mm socket to remove the now revealed nut, the lower light is still held to the body by 2 lugs, 1 at the top and 1 near the bottom, it helps in removal to use a screwdriver to lever out backwards the top of the lower light against the upper light between the 2 red lenses whilst pulling the light but be carefull to avoid damage to the lenses and any paintwork (a bit of cardboard may help and also on the bumper). - To remove the upper light, do the lower one first and similarly remove the nut cover/nut and pull the light off. In the handbook, by cowling they mean the nut cover disc.The small lugs on these are easy to break off and black tape can cover the nut holes, new ones cost about £1.50 for 2 on a C3. If you get the C5 Haynes manual, it shows the lower light lugs on page 12.13, fig. 9.21. -

Part no. 1920AG is the mass air flow sensor from the Citroen parts diagrams. These can often need cleaning or replacing. It is in the air supply to the engine and measures the air flow.

I hope your recovery is quick and full. I, and maybe many others, did not realise that catching the ride height sensors could cause the car to drop. I have often raised the car to max height and crawled underneath to do jobs without using axle stands but never again. This ought to be noted in the car handbook and such as Haynes manuals. If a moderator reads this, then it should be a pinned post.

That seems like a good result since the tank may have been weak after 12 years and could have failed at any time and from memory, LDS fluid is about £17 a litre.

If you need any fresh anti freeze, Citroen dealers own brand is the Glysantin G33 noted in the Haynes C3 manual, and has part no. 9735.K4 and last time I bought some was no dearer than other makes. Haynes seems to cover the part replacement but it may help to jack up the front left corner to help minimise anti freeze loss and bleed any air out - getting the air out of our 1.4 petrol took some doing, possibly since I did not bother with the header tank shown in Haynes on the expansion tank. Depending on how much mess you want to make, it may be tempting to drain the anti freeze by just undoing the hose on the housing over a container, but I have not done this job on the hdi so can not really comment. -
According to the Haynes manual, if the oil tank has been drained (presumably then the pump is also drained) then 0.5 barg pressure is applied to the tank after filling with oil to prime the pump - if the tank was split at the dealer, then I would think it is more likely that applying air pressure would cause it to fail than a slightly wrong oil level. Just for a top up though, air pressure would not be applied - only the car lowered and the level observed and if needed the cap removed and oil poured in. The tank will need to be replaced, I guess it is deciding who will pay is your concern. Again according to Haynes, with the car in the low position, the oil level should be between the min and max for hydractive 3 and between min and HYD for 3+ for cars up to RPO 09064. For later cars the oil level is checked by removing the tank cap and looking at marks in the filler neck. The procedure for raising/lowering/steering use is just to remove air out of the system.

With the FAP removed/drilled through, the cars still pass the MOT. You can see the MOT test manual through the direct gov website for what is required but I think it is just a smoke test. Leaving the filter body in place may be a requirement which is achieved by drilling through the internal filter.

Welcome to the forum. There are 3 versions of C5, the mark 1 was to mid 2004, the mark 2 (lights revised plus other bits inc improved handling) to early 2008 then the completely new style from early 2008 to now. The mark 1 versions only had the exhaust particle filter on the 2.2 hdi and the mark 2 and new C5 diesels all have one as well as all other makes of diesel. If you want a low cost one with good fuel economy then the mark 1 2.0 hdi may be the best choice. They seem to easily go over 100k miles and are often used as taxis. In this month's (April 2013) Car Mechanics mag there is a review of the mark 2. Many on this forum think the 1.6 hdi engine is a bit underpowered for such a heavy car (although at 110 hp it is the same as a mark 1 2.0 hdi) and if not given frequent oil changes can be prone to turbo failure so may have a higher maintenance cost off setting reduced fuel consumption. There may also have been a 90 hp mark 1 diesel. A look on the C5 subforum will give you an idea on what things to look out for but they tend to be reliable cars so main thing is to make sure everything works, the ride is quiet (no squeaks from the back suspension and rear wheels do not lean in at the top) and smooth and suspension goes up and down with no leaks of oil on the struts but a slight dampness on the fronts is normal.

The oil on the seam may be a bit of spilt oil and just need wiping off. The tank is normally under a bit of pressure and when the cap is slackened some air will escape, similar to a radiator cap, so if there is a leak you will soon know since there will be no pressure built up.

Welcome to the forum. There is a recent post on topping up the Eolys fluid and it has been pointed out that it would still need to go to a dealer or other who has the dealer type of diagnostic Lexia to tell the car the fluid has been topped up or it will still think the level is low. Rather than topping up the fluid and replacing the exhaust particle filter, many people have had the filter removed or the inside filter drilled through and the car software modified to remove references to the fluid. The C5 subforum may be the best place for this post.

Just had a look in mine and the same pages have been torn out, 02/2006 date on the back of the booklet, supplied with a 2007 C5 but would be with any Citroen of this age.

Just had a look on ebay under C3 and this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-C2-C3-COM-2000-UNIT-LIGHT-SWITCH-COMM-/181116137369?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a2b5cef99 company say they have ones available for other Citroens so may be worth a try. I would not want to pay £280 for a new one unless your dealer confirms that is the problem. If you do not know the Citroen part no. (usually 4 nos. and 2 letters, the long part nos. in the adds are the manufacturer nos. and you would need to look at your part to get this) this can be found by registering on service.citroen.com as other professional, citroen owners club and against your vin you can see the relevant parts diagrams. -

You might get a second hand one from such as ebay or a scrap yard. There is a post on the C5 forum and ones for a C5 second hand are about £20. -
I think this is a dealer only job.
